Chapter 6: Dinner at the Winters

Jake looked at the mirror, A boy wearing a suit looked cute, but Jake looked rather smart with his jet black suit 2 piece suit highlighting his green eyes and his hair set in a way allowing a much better look of his face.

Even Aria was surprised at Jake's appearance as he always kept a messy style on his head since he didn't have to worry about appearances on Naru.

Elizabeth had brought Iris to their room to reveal their outfits. Elizabeth was the first to notice Jake's outfit and immediately complimented him.

Elizabeth wore a purple suede backless dress with black straps along her back. A touch of make-up highlights her eyes and sharp facial features. Her wavy waist-length hair was let loose.

Iris had a silver dress with gold highlights along her sleeves and sides. Her hair was braided and she too had a touch of make-up, looking even more cuter than normal.

"You all look stunning" Jake who was both proud and grateful for his family said.

"I agree," Victor who had entered their room said and stood behind his son with his hands on his shoulders.

"And what about you, looking just like your dad when I was your age, my little man's growing up too fast, isn't he Elizabeth." Victor smiled and spoke.

"All of my babies are growing too fast," Elizabeth spoke before she squeezed her children in a hug.

"Clarence is sending a shuttle to pick us up soon, I'll wash up then we'll head out" Victor spoke before leaving.

The shuttle arrived 20 minutes later and they soon took off.

The shuttle was an automated vehicle that could hold 12 people and was used for atmospheric travel.

Clarence had sent a rather elegant one as this one had comfortable seats and a luxurious interior.

Iris was enthusiastic and was happy to be flying again while Aria sat quietly, listening to music.

Jake was watching through the glass as their house became smaller and they flew through the sky. His parents were busy talking as they went about on the trip.

The winters lived in the most expensive suburb of Naru with only the extremely wealthy and important heads on the moon living.

The suburb was directly north of Port Gideon close enough to be the first to leave but just far enough to not be affected by the noise and distractions of the busy port. A truly beautiful area to live in.

When they arrived they were greeted by the Winters, Jake and his siblings were amazed by the Villa in which the Winters lived, not because of its size, but the resemblance it had to ones on Earth.

Most homes and buildings were designed to fit in on Naru, but this one had stood out, resembling a Sicilian-style villa back on Earth.

"Welcome to our home Mr. and Mrs. Avalon" Grace greeted Jake and his family before taking them on a short tour of their house.

Lyra's mother Grace was a silver-haired black-eyed beauty in her early 30s and carried an aura of maturity and elegance and carried an image befitting her name.

Clarence was a tall man, 6 foot and 5 inches with hair in a short military cut with black hair and brown eyes. He wore a brown suit fitting the man in his late 30s.

Both he and his wife looked much younger than they were, courtesy of the Kreedian medicine and wealth.

As the group toured the garden, Jake and his sibling were shocked to see an assortment of trees all from a variety of worlds.

Some looked completely alien with abnormal colours and hues, while some were similar to ones on Earth.

Most of the trees were fruit trees, even though the alien ones looked very different.

But the one that stood out for Jake and his family was the Lone Apple tree in the centre of the garden, with a beautiful flooring finish surrounding the tree and garden lights helping display the tree.

"Hah, you noticed my favourite tree didn't you." Clarence chuckled and spoke.

"I've been growing her for almost 20 years, bought it from a merchant from Earth. Usually, it's very difficult to grow them naturally, you either sacrifice the taste or the look.

I mean if it doesn't look like an apple and doesn't taste like an apple, can you call it an apple?

The merchant told me it was grown from a station on Earth's orbit and was the only healthy specimen among them."

Elizabeth spoke next " It is very beautiful, I hope we can try some apples soon."

"Of course, of course, the day she bears ripe fruit I'll call you all over ." Clarence smiled and spoke.

Lyra stood next to Jake as the adults continued to talk.

"So what do you think, cool huh." Lyra shyly boasted to Jake.

"I'm quite impressed, usually Terraformed planets are very similar to Earth so most vegetation can grow quite easily, though it is quite difficult to grow them on artificial atmospheres like here on Naru, coupled with the tree export embargo placed by the GOE,

I'm surprised your father managed to get one on the frontier of GOE territory. Though we did have orchards on our Estate" Aria spoke before Jake had said anything.

Jake grinned knowing his sister had added the last comment just to tease Lyra and was happy she was slowly getting back to normal.

The inside of the villa was plain and matched the interior and aesthetic of the home except for a few military decorations and statues that Clarence had collected.

The dining room was rather large with a chandelier hanging from the top of the ceiling. Servants had brought in the food and had set up the table already.

The dinner was lively with the adults engaging in numerous discussions and Lyra raining questions on top of Aria and Jake while he fed his younger sister.

When dinner had ended, Jake went to the balcony to watch the stars while his siblings and Lyra stayed with the adults having desserts.
