Chapter 11: Aeon Ascendant

(However it did create Atlases, guides for individuals if deemed worthy to find its location and reveal to it, its knowledge.

Although many Sentient beings were contacted almost none were able to handle the information which they were told.

Almost all were either driven mad to death or their Brains simply shut down.)

'Wait, wait, did I also go through that process? Was I also going to die?'

(Yes, you experienced what almost all others did however you survived with almost no issues, quite a remarkable achievement.)

'B-but how, I mean I'm just a regular 8-year-old boy, surely there were beings much stronger than me yet they didn't make it.'

(True, however, it is not about just your physical strength or even your Mental strength.

You are young, growing up with an empty mind still malleable and free to devour knowledge, but I would say what greatly contributed to you successfully passing this trial was your trauma of your family's demise, your concentration and determination to save your family must have overpowered your mind's focus on the knowledge it was given, saving it from overloading and destroying your mind.)

'Wow, but what about my family and what I saw, was it real, you said that the ChronoScribe could see the future, so did it show me what was going to happen.'

(I do not know, the ChronoScribe spoke directly to you, I can't tell you what I do not know.

I am merely a tool, a guide of the ChronoScribe to help you become an Aeon Ascendant.)

'So you don't know anything? How are you supposed to help me.'

(I may not be able to see the past, present and future like the ChronoScribe but I am an extremely intelligent device.

My main job is to help you find the ChronoScribe in the first place and everything that I need to know to help you is within my knowledge.

However, if there are things that I need to know, the ChronoScribe may grant me some of its knowledge.)

'What about others who have passed the trial as well? Did they manage to become Aeon Ascendants?'

(The few that did pass the tri-)

The sound of footsteps was heard and Elizabeth had come up to call the siblings to bed. "Aria, Jake it's late. Come to bed, you've got school tomorrow as well." Elizabeth also noticed Aria had fallen asleep on Jake's shoulder, and a small smile appeared on Elizabeth's face, happy the siblings had grown closer.

'Can you tell me later?' Jake spoke to the Atlas in his mind.

(Of course, I did say I would answer all your questions.)

"Coming Mom, Aria is asleep though," Jake spoke to his mother.

"I'll carry her to bed." Elizabeth spoke walking to her son.

"It's fine mom, I got her." Jake spoke as he carefully wrapped Aria's arms over his shoulders and carried her on his back, slowly so as to not disturb her sleep.

"Looks like my son is getting too strong." Elizabeth spoke with her smile as she watched her son carry his sister down the stairs.

Aria who had woken up but was too lazy to walk herself shyly smiled as she was carried to her bed.

"Goodnight Jake I love you"

"Goodnight mom, I love you too."

After saying goodnight and had gone to bed, Jake lay with his eyes facing the ceiling.

'Can you continue?'

(Of course

As I was saying, previously a few others had also passed the trial but they failed to come close to finding the ChronoScribe.

Some died spending their entire lives searching, some died as quickly as they had received their Atlas and some gave up either raising families or wandering alone among the stars.)

'So there's more than one Atlas and what happens when we die, do you die too?'

(Yes, a certain number of Atlases were created by the ChronoScribe, the exact number is unknown to me. Atlases pair with their hosts and essentially become one with their host so if the host dies, the Atlas dies with it.)

'So you're saying you pair with hosts without knowing whether they will survive the trial.'

(Correct, when we are in proximity to those we believe are capable of being Aeon Ascendants, the ChronoScribe will decide whether we should pair with the hosts or not. Everything after is decided by if the host is strong enough mentally to handle the situation.)

'But isn't that scary, not knowing if your host is capable of surviving the first trial, and dying without doing anything'

(We are created by the ChronoScribe for a single purpose Jake, just finding a capable Aeon Ascendant is enough to fulfill our task. Remember I am just an AI Jake,

I am incapable of feeling emotions.)

'I see.' Jake said, although the Atlas had said she felt nothing, Jake still felt bad for them.

'By the way, should I tell my parents about you?'

(That is not recommended. The more people who know you have an Atlas, the greater the risk it poses to you and those you hold dear, like your family.)

'What do you mean, are there others who are after you?'

(Yes, Jake, the entire galaxy is hunting for the ChronoScribe. Since the ChronoScribe can vet those with ill intentions, none of those beings are capable of becoming Aeon Ascendants as well as their followers and underlings.

This is why they have to rely on capturing and using Aeon Ascendants to navigate and search for the ChronoScribe by either torturing them or blackmailing them into submission.

Since Aeon Ascendants are essentially one in trillions, they are extremely sought after and those who want them can destroy entire systems just to get their hands on one.

So no, I would not recommend you tell anyone about me.)
