The beginning

Prologue

In the beginning, there was nothing but pain and sorrow. From the great crack monsters and death spewed upon the above lands.

After millenniums of watching the creatures, that called the above lands there home, being decimated the gods stepped up to give them a helping hand to equal the fighting grounds. The creatures of the above lands would remember these days as the begging of a new age, the age of change.

The gods guided the sentient creatures in the direction they needed to go to finally gain the upper hand in the fight. Slowly they pushed monsters back to the great crack and when all the sentient beings of the above lands united with the help of the gods they capped the great crack in the earth, but the gods couldn't just cap the great crack or after the next few decades the monster would build up and spew back to the above grounds and continue their onslaught and never ending slaughter of the beings of the above ground with the help of the gods the sentient beings set up a new system of adventures that would lead the charge in culling the monster below in the great labyrinth that grew and evolved. The gods set up a gateway to the labyrinth that allowed the adventure to enter and exit the hell below without letting the monster escape. After 500 years a magnificent city had formed around the focal point of the would. This city governed its self and did not need a kingdoms protection. As it already had its army and soldiers. Soldiers that are by far superior to an ordinary soldier. Adventurers, Falna's mightiest heroes, and also its darkest and most ruthless criminals.

...…...…...

"Hmm..." Awoken from new sound Milo set up from laying done in the worn carriage. He laid among different grain and additional farming equipment that his village sold to the capital that was about a days ride by carriage from his village.

Usual he wouldn't have road with Rufus to the capital. But just a few days prior the village elder received a letter that was meant for Milo. When Milo was called to the village elder's house he couldn't figure out why he had been called. But when the elder called him over to a table that sat in the middle of his living room he asked Milo to sit down, as he did the elder gently slide of an opened envelope. In it was something Milo had dreamed about receiving but had never actually thought he would get. On the letter was golden letters and designs that almost anyone would recognize at first glance. It was the Adventures Academy insignia. The letter was a formal invitation to enrolment at the most prestigious academy in the kingdom.

Flash forward a couple of days Milo and Rufus are currently arriving at the capital city Lybrintha, also home to the only Labrinth in the world a. Lybrintha was a city where dreams are made and where dreams were crushed. What Milo didn't expect were the towering walls that surrounded the city. The walls stood at hundred meters and were so white it hurt your eyes to look at when the sun shined upon them.

The gate was big enough to fit two, two-horse carriages side by side. Stationed at the gate were guards that inspected every visitor that passed through.

"Well, looks we'll have a little water on our hands, Milo," said the ever so often cheerful Rufus as he looked at the still drowsy boy that was just now setting up.

Milo was only a month past his 15th birthday, he was taller than most boys his age stand at around 6'2 and could be described as being lanky. He has defined muscle on his body but just didn't have the usual farm boy physique with being stocky. He had jet black hair the came down past his ears but he liked to slick his back so he didn't have to worry about his bangs dripping sweat into his eyes. But the most peculiar feature of the young boy was his eyes. One was as blue as the ocean and the other blood red. This was coupled with his hair and his tanned lanky body frame made the boy stand out a bit compared to the other farmers.

"Hey Rufus, have far in is the academy from the gates?"

"Haha, see the academy is still all you been thinking about on our ride huh, well you'll see in when we enter the city trust me."

Rufus' words excited Milo even more. After what felt like years the pair and their carriage passed inspection and entered Lybrintha.

Rufus wasn't lying when he told Milo he would see it. When they passed through the tunnel and their eyes readjusted to the sunlight. What Milo saw took his breath away, people from all walks of life were walking the bustling streets of the city. Food stalls, clothing stalls, jewelry stalls, weapon stalls, and familiar stalls lined the streets peddling their good to anyone that would stop to browse their stall. For a young farm boy, this was beautiful and a bit overwhelming. But when he looked past the street and in the distance towering above the building and all of the bustling, way in the distance was what looked like a ginormous palace.

"Is that the Academy?" Milo asked in astonishment.

"Sure is Milo and where you'll be living for the next four years," Rufus said while laughing at the reaction Milo had.

Rufus stirred the house pulling the carriage down the street, the people subconsciously parting for the carriage. They eventually reached a district that was just outside of the bustling. This district was mainly just for farmers to sell to merchants and drop off their goods.

"Well Milo it's time we part ways. Just head towards the north side of the Academy they should be expecting you there."

" You're not gonna take me there?" Milo asked with a bit of a concerned face.

"Sorry Milo but this is gonna take me the rest of the day to get everything sold so it would be best if you just went ahead and go there now," Rufus said apologetically.

"Ok Rufus I should be able to get there myself. Make sure you let everyone know that I'll come to visit when I get the chance to" Milo said as he hopped off the carriage with the bag of his possessions slung over his shoulder. He started to walk at a brisk past towards the towering Academy in the distance.

Rufus watched as the boy that he and the rest of the village raise in his parent's place walked away to his shining future.

"Make them Proud kid".
