Prologue II

After single-handedly wiping out tens of thousands of the current enemy army, he started feeling exhausted but this battle was already won. The enemy had less than twenty percent of the number they had started with and it was all thanks to a single dragon.

At this point, Draneil had abandoned using his sword. His knowledge of runes and spells became obvious in the battle as all he did was simply place his hand on certain enemies, drawing runes on them in the blink of an eye, and with the aid of wind spells, he sent them flying toward a cluster of their allies.

These unfortunate ones riddled with magic runes would explode upon contact with their allies leading to death en masse. Some exploded into flames that scorched everything within fifty meters.

Others burst forth into ice that froze every enemy within a hundred meters. All around, as he threw enemies into the midst of others, mayhem ensued.

Some became filled with lightning that shot in different directions within a range of twenty meters, electrocuting and killing everything in that range.

When it came to combat abilities, he might be the weakest but when it was about knowledge of magic, there was no one with as much as him. When it came down to runes, he was unmatched as he could inscribe them with a flick of his finger. He didn't need special items like other rune inscribers as he could directly inscribe on anything. The only restriction to his ability was his mana pool which was also the smallest among the entire race.

Boooooom!

Bzzzzzt!

Booooom!! Zzzzzzt!!

Explosions of different magnitudes rang out around the battlefield.

"Die!" One of the demon generals finally roared as he attacked.

Draneil turned around to see all the remaining generals attacking him at once with mana of different attributes. Some had decay attributes, others had poisonous attributes, and some could multiply pains felt.

Pulling out his sword as fast as he could, he pushed most of his last mana reserve into it and took the attack head-on since he couldn't even evade it within the time frame.

Boom!!!

Crack…

The red sword and armor stopped the attacks from reaping his life but now, they were ruined.

He dashed towards the nearest general, placing lots of explosive runes on him and tossing him towards another as he headed for his next victim.

Boom!!

Using the mana of the enemy as fuel, the explosion and its range multiplied by ten times causing stupendous damage to the enemies and even the battlefield.

After taking out all the generals, his mana reserve was emptied but the battle wasn't going to stop.

Straining his core to bring more out, he advanced.

While Draneil fought tirelessly to fend off the enemies attacking his world, in a different world, another activity was taking place.

The entirety of this world was darkened by black clouds that obstructed the rays of light that should've bathed the world.

The air held a smell of decay as even the majority of mana found here was foul. It was a world with resources solely for the demons that resided in it.

Thousands of miles from the largest castle that stood at the center of the world was a large red gate that glimmered brightly. Around it was a multitude of beings as they all stood behind one that stood out in all aspects, even among all creatures present.

"How long until the gate opens?" A voice latched with evil intentions asked.

"A few minutes." Another replied.

"Step aside. I'll shorten that to mere seconds as I no longer have the patience required to wait." The first voice that sounded more like thunder rumbling spoke once again, his voice filled with authority.

The latter stepped back while the former walked toward the large glimmering red portal in front of them. He placed his scaly hands on the portal as droves of dark pale mana escaped his core, channeling through his hand and attacking the portal. It was rapidly weakening the barrier of the portal.

The moment this process began, in a different world entirely, an alarm rang, disrupting the activities of a certain individual who had a table barely two feet tall as the man dropped the plate in his hand back on the plate and rose to leave.

His destination was somewhere very few had access to and he was one of those very few.

"The demons are attacking the World led by the dragons." A man clad in white robes with white long hair said, bowing to an old man seated on a golden throne.

"Something must've happened to Danthuv." The old man seated on the throne said, opening his eyes to reveal pure white eyes.

"I'll be leaving in advance. Prepare the army as swiftly as possible."

Even before the old man seated on the throne finished his words, he had vanished from his throne.

"Fuuu… Summon the whole army. It's about to get tough." The one who came with the information to this throne room said to the two guards at the entrance.

"Yes!" Both guards replied in unison as they marched out of the room, appearing outside, and a moment later, two loud horns could be heard.

The horns of war were blown as seconds later, men covered in black robes and a few wearing white began to assemble.

After making sure that all warriors were present, the man with white hair who had been tasked with rallying the army cleared his throat, commanding silence in the area.

"The days of war are upon us as the demons have breached the World of Dragons. The kind of Dragons has fallen and if we do nothing about it, they'll be attacking our world next."

"Right now, we need to strike while they're still building an army in Draith, the World of Dragons. Our King, King Belmort has left in advance as he plans to see for himself what the situation is and come up with a strategy for the war."

All we have to do now is make ourselves available so the king's orders get to us when he is ready."

"We will not be losing our homes and our families to the demons! We will not lose our world!" The man's last words were shouts that riled up the spirits of the warriors.

"Yeahhh!" Shouts could be heard from the warriors as they readied for the incoming war.

"Advance!" The man's order came upon them and they began to move towards the white snowy mountains of their world. A mountain range that was over five hundred miles long and covered in snow that fell endlessly. To the inhabitants of this world, it was called 'Mountains of Endless Winter'.

Every available warrior advanced according to the commands of their superior, heading toward the Mountain of Endless Winter. It was here that the portal leading to Draith was located.
