The car jerked to a sudden stop, and Summer Gardner, who was fastening her seatbelt, hadn't quite finished when she lunged forward.

Luckily, the speed wasn't too high, and her quick reaction spared her any proper collision.

She straightened up, casting a displeased glare at Ivana Bennett.

"You brat, are you trying to murder your own mother?!"

"As if I would dare! If my royal father found out, he would roast me alive!" Ivana swiveled around, a charming smile playing on her face. "Dear mother, there's something... I just remembered I have to make an important overseas call. Maybe... you could call the assistant to accompany you?"

Striking out with her long arm, Summer gave her a swift whack on the forehead.

"Assuming I don't know about such a thing as time difference? Stop talking nonsense, just drive. It's the first time your Uncle Shen asked me to do something serious, don't you make a mess of it at the last minute!"
