FLEE

Angelo was up and about, talking to his business partners,

Leaving Adelina to walk around the ground floor of the mansion aimlessly.

She smiled and shook hands with people that greeted her, recognizing her as the fiancee of Angelo.

And as she turned around, martini in hand, she heard someone clear their throat.

She looked at this familiar stranger nonchalantly as his head jerked towards a direction before he left.

"Excuse me, I shall be back soon" Adelina smiled at her guards before leaving.

"Were you followed?" The man asked as he pulled her into a cul-de-sac.

"Nope" Adelina answered.

"Do you have it?" He asked as his stern voice dropped to a whisper.

Adelina rolled her eyes at him before reaching into her bodice and pulling out a thin brown envelope,

"Here" She said as she handed it over to him.

"Mr Fernando knows about your little engagement, you know the consequences of turning against your oath" He warned in a whisper.

She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, easily lifting him a few inches off the floor.

"I know my priorities, Pedro" Adelina scowled into his ear, before walking away from the conversation and him.

"You have ten minutes to actually decide what they are" He said in a serious tone as he watched her walk away.

Instead of returning to the bar, Adelina decided to find Angelo,

She walked through the halls until her sharp ears picked up a distant hushed conversation.

She placed her ear against the door,

But all she heard was,

"We'll take care of it"

And it was Angelo's voice.

"Just what was he going to take care of" She wondered as she heard footsteps,

Adelina took off as silently as she could, running in five inch high platform heels.

She saw the elevator ahead, there was no way she would make it out on time,

So she turned into another cul-de-sac in the wall and hid herself.

She thanked her stars that Angelo and whoever he was talking with headed in the other direction.

She turned to see who he was with and her breath was caught in her throat as she saw the short blond wavy hair and bandaged arms.

"Gabriel?" She gasped,

No wonder the house looked so familiar, this really was a small and dangerous world.

She was in the lion's den,

And she had to escape,

With her life, of course.

She walked back into the bustling party like nothing happened and smiled at her guards before sitting.

She ordered an expensive sounding wine for Angelo because she knew nothing about alcoholic drinks.

"Sir?" A guard said as he walked up to Angelo and Gabriel.

"Yes?" Angelo answered as he looked at the wine glass in his hand suspiciously.

"From Lady Vasílissa" He informed him.

"Oh, thank you" he said as he took the glass, locking eyes with his fiancee who waved and mouthed a small hi to him.

"Who's that?" Gabriel asked as he traced his ally's gaze to the blonde dark skinned woman.

"My fiancee, the one who saved my life, you have to meet her" Angelo smiled as pride welled up in his chest,

He downed in his drink, closing his eyes for a second.

He spat out the cold metal that he almost swallowed.

He clutched the engagement ring that he had just expelled from his mouth,

Looking around wildly for the love of his life,

She was gone.

"Vasílissa" he yelled repeatedly.

"What's wrong boss?" The imbeciles who were supposed to be watching over her asked.

"Where's Lissa" He yelled.

"Sir, she was just here" A guard answered.

Angelo grabbed him by the collar of his shirt,

"If you don't find her right now, I will boil you alive and feed your flesh to your wives and children" he growled as he tossed him into the bar table.

"I would love to know why exactly you're taking off your clothes" Pedro asked as she took off her dress and slipped on the new ones she had requested from him.

"Trackers" Adelina mumbled in reply.

"What was that?" Pedro asked.

"I said they're trackers on it" she yelled as she tossed them into the bin.

"Sure" Pedro shrugged as he got into the car,

"Step on it" Adelina groaned as she hopped into the car.

"What's that?" Pedro asked as he eyed the emerrald jewelry with a golden rimming in her hands.

"A necklace I want to keep" Adelina shrugged as she started to removed the tracker from the necklace with a screw driver she found laying around in the car.

"Oh, sure" Pedro said as he adjusted the rearview mirror of the car.

"Can you just start driving? damnit!" Adelina yelled at him.

"Whatever, I'm sure they haven't even noticed you're gone, so what's the worst that could happen?" He asked as he slowly started the car,

The doors of the mansion opened,

"What's the worst that could possibly happen?" Adelina mimicked in a whiny voice as the first bullet pierced the car,

Luckily, they made it out of the estate,

"Can't you try to lose them?" Adelina yelled.

"Please I'm trying my best" Pedro yelled as he swerved dangerously to the side.

"Your very best is very terrible" Adelina criticized in a calm voice, clearly unfazed.

"Let me drive" Adelina yelled,

"No" Pedro yelled back,

"Why not?" She yelled,

"You'll wreck the car" He answered,

"Fine, do you have a gun?" She asked,

"Check the glove compartment" He said as he suddenly swerved to the right,

She opened the glove compartment and checked it to see if it was loaded,

She cocked the gun and struggled to look into the sideview mirrors,

"They're on your side" Adelina yelled as she cocked the gun,

"What do we do?" Pedro yelled in a panicky voice,

"Think fast, Think fast" She thought to herself,

She looked at Pedro and smirked,

"Wait, No, Adelina don't, I know that look" Pedro yelled as he was immediately reminded of his past experiences of working with this reckless woman.

"You're a grown man, quit being a baby, idiota" Adelina huffed as she rolled her eyes.

"Stop, think of something else" Pedro yelled as she straddled him.

Adelina leaned into him as she brought the window of the car down.

"Finding it hard to concentrate" Pedro said in a muffled voice as her boobs were all up in his face,

"Try not to crash the car, dummy" She said as she took out the tyres of two cars in their pursuit.

They got away without any fatal injuries but,

"I can't believe I crashed the car" Pedro lamented as he checked the amount of damage that the car had sustained,

"Look on the bright side, we survived, right?" Adelina shrugged,

"How do I explain this to Don?" He grumbled angrily.

"Blame it on me" Adelina told him with a wink as she patted his cheek before walking into her residence.
