CAUGHT.

The woman adjusted her dress as the car pulled up in front of Erick's mansion,

As they got out of the car, one of his men walked up to him, pulled him aside and discussed with him for a brief moment,

Adelina saw him sigh and glance at her sadly,

He walked up to her.

"I'm sorry, I have to attend to something, do you mind waiting up in bed for me, princess?" He whispered into her ear.

"I will" She answered, looking up at him innocently.

She grinned, knowing it was Devon that had orchestrated whatever was holding him back to buy her time to get the files.

"Seven, take her to my chambers" He ordered.

"Sir, are you s..." The man proceeded to ask,

"You will do as I say of you do not want to be fired, take the girl to my room right now" He interjected in a stern tone.

"Yes sir" The man said before giving him a small salute,

"Let us leave, my lady" Seven said,

"I'm sorry I got you yelled at" Adelina said, batting her eyelids at him, trying to get on his good side as he led her up the stairs to the west wing where Erick's room was located.

"It's okay, just be safe, my master can be, how do I put this, extreme" He warned.

Adelina felt heat rise to her cheeks as her mind grasped what it felt the man was trying to tell her, and her face flushed.

"Oh, I'll be safe" She said as he opened the door for her, letting her get into the room.

He bowed his head, before snapping the door shut,

"Hello Jacquelynne, do you copy, I'm at the target's house" Adelina whispered as she tapped on the earbud.

"Copy that, click on the earpiece twice please" Jacquelynne said.

Adelina obeyed and a holographic virtual screen popped up in front of her face.

She could see through the walls, furnitures and appliances in the room.

"Apparently, sources have mentioned that what we need is in his safe, somewhere on this room" Jacquelynne informed her,

Adelina began to look around,

There was nothing there,

"Do you see anything?" Adelina asked,

"I'm currently trying to hack into the security system to see if Erick's on his way, look around, there has to be a hollow space in the wall" Jacquelynne stated,

The faux painting of the Mona Lisa immediately caught her eye,

"Bull's-eye" Adelina smirked as she removed the painting, revealing a silvery grey safe implanted in the wall,

Adelina tapped on the earpiece twice to retract the scanner,

She placed her ear against the safe as she started to fondle with the dial,

A minute later, she heard the click of the safe's door and it popped open,

There was money, diamonds, jewels and the brown envelope she needed,

She took the envelope before snapping the safe shut,

"I've got the prize" Adelina whispered,

"Good job, now, we need to get you out of there, I'll get Derek on call now, so you can sort out the escape with him" Jacquelynne said.

"Did Mr Fernando specify what we're look for?" Adelina asked as she eyed the brown bulky envelope with curiosity.

"No he didn't tell us the contents of the file, he only said it would be used as blackmail... Don't you dare think of opening it" Jacquelynne warned.

Adelina grinned as she shrugged, embracing the thrill she got from doing the exact opposite of what she had been told to do.

She failed in fighting the force that tugged her lips upward as she opened the envelope.

Her eyes widened at the sight she saw.

The contents of this file were heart wrenching and absolutely disgusting.

It was unimaginable and unthinkable that a 'nice guy' like Erick could ever do this to these women.

And it dawned on her that she was in the same room where it all happened.

She packed up the evidence into the envelope frantically before she raided his bedside drawers for weapons,

As she got to the last drawer, her heart sank,

Those knives, the same in the pictures,

They were Erick's.

Erick wasn't just a gentleman,

He was also insane,

Mutilating, scarring and killing women after raping or sleeping with them,

No wonder Seven was reluctant to take her to his room.

No wonder he gave the warning, when he said his boss was extreme, what she was thinking definitely wasn't what he meant.

He didn't want the same thing that happened to his past victims to happen to her too.

Anger rose from the bottom of her belly where it was once hidden.

Blinding her senses,

"Adelina, I'm outside the window, I need you to jump" Derek said as Adelina walked around the room,

Like a mad person without purpose.

She undid the curtain, taking the golden fibrous tassel that held them together in her hand.

"Adelina get out of there, Erick's coming" Jacquelynne yelled through the earbuds.

A deaf person could hear the fear in her voice.

Adelina pulled out the knife in the holster strapped around her thigh.

"Adelina, he's armed with a gun, you need to leave, please" Jacquelynne yelled,

Adelina took her place beside the door after turning off the light, so he wouldn't see her immediately he came in.

She took a deep breath, placing the knife between her lips,

She closed her eyes and opened them,

Fury ignited in her golden orbs glowing in the dark.

She just had to avenge the dead girls,

Erick could not be let go so free,

Not after all he had done,

He had to pay,

The door creaked open slowly,

"Vasílissa?" He called out,

"Are you asleep?" He sighed as he turned on the lights,

He saw the brown envelope on the bed and his eyes widened,

"No, no, Lissa, I can explain" he yelled out, running to check the opened window to see if she had escaped,

"Fuck, fuck, fuck" he yelled punching the wall,

Adelina had inched closer to him,

She tapped his shoulder twice and he turned around quickly,

But he wasn't quick enough because immediately he did that, her fist collided with his jaw before knocking the gun out of his hand,

They engaged in a short brawl for the gun before the woman managed to disarm him and kick it under the bed, before punching his face again.

The hit to his face would take him a few minutes to recover,

But Adelina was fast,

She took him by the neck, pushing his body into the bed and got on top of his back, straddling him.

She could feel his muscle flex underneath her as he breathed,

"Vasílissa, I can explain" he groaned in pain, his head still spinning from the punch,

"Your time is up, Erick" She said as she drove her knife into his neck, right through the ring tattoo on his neck,

"I loved you" He whispered as he slowly gave up the ghost.

"Too bad, I never felt the same way about you" Adelina huffed, getting off him as his crimson blood seeped into the snow white sheets,

Adelina's body started to tremble as the adrenaline in her system reduced

She picked up the file with shaky hands after keeping her knife back into its holster.

She walked to the window and looked down.

Derek had opened the roof of the car. Everything was ready for her escape,

She just had to find the courage in her body to jump down from the storey.

The door opened and she froze as she turned around slowly to look back.

"Seven, it's not what it seems like" Adelina whispered.

Seven looked between his dead master and the assassin.

He ignored her and sat beside his master, shutting his lifeless eyes that were left open after he had died.

"Seven" Adelina whispered as Seven closed his own eyes and sighed.

"You have one minute to escape before I alert the rest of the house" He stated as he opened his eyes, smiling at her sadly.

"Thank you, Seven, I owe you" She whispered before jumping out of the window, landing right into the car.

"You take stupid risks, Mr Fernando needs to talk some sense into you" Devon commented as they left the estate.

"I talk the sense into Mr Fernando" Adelina retorted as she saw the lights in the mansion flash red and the gates automatically close in response to the news of Erick's assassination through the rearview mirror of the car,

She had been successful,

Again.
