Chapter 31

Alex forgot to consider the ramifications of arriving to work with the company president himself. According to what Chloe told him, Keith has his own personal elevator that only a handful of people have access to aside from the members of the Andersen family. Since that elevator doesn't stop on Level 10 where the Planning Department floor is located, they have to take the regular elevator in order to drop off Dan.

As it is the morning rush, employees flock to the elevator to go to their respective floors so as not to be late for work. A series of shocked faces and awkward "good mornings" and "hellos" were exchanged with Keith. Some women became too conscious seeing the Alpha everyone covets riding the same elevator with them. Some of them even tried to put on their make ups but since the elevator is getting crowded as people rushed in, some just contented on spraying on some perfumes hoping to entice the most sought after bachelor.

Amidst all these, there were questions on the employees mind as to why the president is taking the employee lift and who are the two unknown employees with him. Are they with the president? Did they just meet each other coincidentally at the parking area and then proceed to ride the elevator at the same time?

The Andersen employee's gossip group chat has been flooded with the topic about the unknown male employee that came to work with the president.

Vera looks at herself in the mirror she kept on her desk, she inspect her face closely holding the mirror at different angles making sure her make up is up to perfection. She had her hair curled up today and it's making her face look smaller which makes her extremely happy. Once satisfied with her inspection, she practiced various ways to smile and greet Keith. It's part of her daily routine in welcoming the Alpha to work, she would greet him with her best seductive smile.

Glancing at the clock on the wall above Dana's work table, it's already a quarter after eight in the morning which means any moment now, the man she's been waiting for would soon be arriving.

While subtly pulling her skirt a bit higher, she stands in front of her desk showing off her long sexy legs. She did a few different poses while waiting. Ten minutes have passed and still no Keith. Vera frowned and thought to herself if she made an error in checking Keith's calendar. The Alpha normally arrives at work at around a quarter after eight, give or take five minutes. It's already ten minutes and five more minutes till the official working hours starts. Keith only arrives late to work if he has some early meeting outside the office which the last time she checked there isn't any for this morning.

"Maybe the president has some emergency meeting outside the office or something." Chloe said, giving Vera a pitiful look. She believes that no matter what Vera does to make herself beautiful and sexy in front of the president, if the Alpha doesn't like her then there's no point to all her efforts. In the two years they've been working here, the president had never shown interest on the Beta.

"Shut up! Dana, does the president have any schedule outside this morning?" Vera asked Dana, ignoring Chloe after glaring at her.

"Not that I know off." Dana replied nonchalantly.

Before Vera could say another word, Keith walked in with his bodyguard and... and Alex? Why does this Omega twit come to work with her Alpha? Vera furiously screamed in her mind.

"Bring me my coffee in ten minutes." Keith said to Alex as they arrived in front of his and Chloe's desk.

"Yes... K.." Alex was about to reply when he noticed Vera glaring at him. "Yes Mr. President, I'll bring it in ten minutes." Alex replied formally after clearing his throat. He almost calls the Alpha using his first name, if Vera didn't glare at him.

"Dana, my office now." Keith ordered. "Hey Martin, come inside too." He said to his friend who was about to head to the security office, also on the same floor. Martin and his team have their office as well in the Executive floor.

Keith has gone inside with Dana and Martin when Vera realized that she is still standing in front of her desk and she even forgot to greet Keith a good morning. All her efforts to look good were wasted because of the annoying Omega.

"Chloe, can you help me prepare the coffee for the president?" Alex asked.

"Sure, I'll help you until you get used to it." Chloe replied enthusiastically. The two then went to the pantry to prepare the coffee Keith requested from Alex.

Vera was left alone as she fidgets on her seat while thinking of ways to steal back her morning coffee delivery from the Omega. It's one of the small things that sets her apart from the other men and women vying for Keith's attention. She can seduce Keith by flaunting and showing off her voluptuous body while serving him the coffee. She believes Keith would eventually notice how beautiful she is. "But first, how to make that Omega leave?" She asked herself while biting her nails. She was still thinking of ways when her eyes caught the box of bond paper beside Chloe's desk. "Hmmm."

Just then Chloe and Alex came back holding the tray of freshly brewed coffee for Keith. Alex was a bit flustered and blushing from the teasing he got from Chloe.

"Hey Chloe." Vera interrupted. "We're low on supplies already, go to the supplies department and request for three-four boxes of bond paper, I also list down the rest of the staff we need."

"Okay sure. I'll just wait for old man Joe." Chloe replied. Old man Joe is the utility man assigned on their floor, he usually does the cleaning and sometimes would assist Chloe if she needed help in lifting heavy supplies.

"No, just go now. I don't want to stop my work in the middle because we ran out of paper." Vera insisted. "No need to wait for the old man, bring that Omega with you, he is still a man after all. What's a few boxes of bond paper? If he's too weak, borrow a cart or something." Vera replied with a hint of sarcasm.

"Okay sure. We'll go after you deliver the coffee." Chloe said to Alex.

"I said just go now. I'll deliver the coffee and the two of you go and get the supplies. He needs to know where and how to request it." Vera insisted as she took the tray of coffee from Alex. The two just stare at Vera unable to contradict her and just watch her back as she strut her way to Keith's office.

Alex was reluctant to let go of the tray as he made a promise to Keith to deliver his coffee but what can he do, Vera is still his senior. "I'll just make it up to Keith later in the afternoon." Alex thought to himself as Chloe picked up the list Vera gave her and asked him to follow.

"Sir, then what can we make him do?" Dana couldn't help but asked. Her boss has too many instructions on what Alex cannot do at the office. If the Omega can't do much of the administrative work then what else can an intern do in their office?

"Hmmm you can ask him to help in preparing some reports or other things as long as it's not those I mentioned." Keith replied.

Martin faked a cough as he tried not to laugh at how overprotective Keith is of his Omega. Chad would probably have a field day if he learned about this.

They heard a knock on the door followed by a woman's voice. "Sir, I'm bringing in your coffee."

Keith frowned upon hearing Vera's voice. Why is she here? Where is his Omega? "Why are you the one delivering this?" Keith asked with a dark expression.

Vera almost dropped the tray when she saw Keith's face. "Ahmm, he went with Chloe to get supplies. Chloe needs help lifting the bond papers since they're heavy." Vera replied after regaining her composure, though her expression changed when she saw how the three of them looked at her.

"Martin go." Keith said to his friend who immediately stood up even before he gave his order. "Dana, I assumed this won't happen again." Keith then turned to Dana, completely ignoring the Beta woman holding his coffee.

"Yes Mr. President." Dana replied as she took the tray from Vera and served the coffee herself. She then drags the bewildered Vera out of Keith's office.
