Season 1 Ending Part II

Emily sat there for a few moments, taking it all in.

"I...Just had sex. Wow. I thought I was destined to never give up my v-card." She joked.

"I had never even thought about it. I just went with the flow; focused on school; spent time with Gram and Gramps; et cetera." She raised her eyebrows when she thought this.

"I didn't anticipate it would happen like this, let alone be THAT good." A million thoughts filled Emily's head as she processed what had just happened.

"I especially didn't think about the fact that it would be with a girl. Excuse me, woman."

"And, better yet, I am...In a relationship. Yay." She sounded less than enthusiastic towards the end of that thought. She remembered her parent's relationship. She recalled every time her mother cried in the dark hallway in the dead of night, or told her to pack a bag- that they were leaving her father. But they never did. Instead of just leaving him, her mother endured all of that pain. She occasionally told Emily that she was sorry that she had to see her mom like that- the woman she was supposed to look up to- and that staying was for her own good. While it did allow her to live in a nice area for most of her childhood, it emotionally damaged Emily to the point that she didn't think she would ever recover.

Emily became afraid to open up, to have feelings for another person, so why did she let Chloe into her life so easily? How did she know that she wouldn't hurt her? That it wouldn't go down in flames? Well she didn't. And that is what she feared. Then suddenly, Emily started to wonder what would happen if she ever caused Chloe any pain. Would that make her like her father; a terrible person?

Emily shook her head and forced those pessimistic thoughts out of her mind.

"I would never hurt her.

I am not my father.

I am not a bad person." She said quietly to herself aloud in a stifled voice.

She sat up and clenched the sheets underneath the comforter as tight as she could, trying to fight off the tears that always accompanied these memories. Despite her efforts, the painful tears came.; they streamed down her face, and dripped onto her bare thighs.

"*sniff* Okay, that's enough. I need to get ready to school." Emily thought.

She picked out her outfit, and walked into the bathroom to start brushing her teeth. When she looked into the mirror, she imagined Chloe hugging her around the waist. Rubbing her face on Emily's shoulder- showing her affection.

She could still smell the faded lavender scent of Chloe's shampoo on her own shirt, which only made the illusion feel more real.

But then, back to reality she went, and finished brushing her teeth. Then got dressed, made her lunch, grabbed her coat and backpack, slipped on a pair of shoes, and left the apartment.

She was in her car driving to school, when all of the sudden, her phone started dinging like crazy. Once she parked her car in the garage across the street from the Senior High School, she grabbed her phone and opened the lock screen. Having just got up out of the car, she closed her door, and started to read through her messages:

"Happy Birthday Em!"

"Hey girl, look who's 19 today! Whoop! Whoop!"

"Emily, Happy 19th Birthday, hugs from ya girl Trish."

There seemed to be a never ending string of texts all saying the same thing.

"First of all, I barely know you Trish." She said as she responded to her message the same as she had all the others: "Thanks everyone! Super excited to be 19!" It took her a moment, but then Emily flinched and remembered that it wasn't her birthday yet.

"Today's not my birthday. It's next week." She mumbled as she reached into the backseat of her car to get her school materials. The then shut the back door, started walking towards the elevator, and opened the calendar app on her phone.

"Oh. Well what do you know. I've been living in last week. Whoop-dee-doo. I'm 19."

That's the end of season one, folks.

I will be returning soon with Emily's nineteenth birthday, steamy relationships, and more on the character's past as well as their personal lives.

Hope you all have a fantastic New Year(if you celebrate it, that is), and enjoyed the first complete season of Acceptance!

I also apologize that this is listed under "Volume II". I had some issues with writing this chapter, and it ended up as a part of the wrong volume.
