37 WELL DESERVED REST

The sky was covered in an orange 🍊-red hue as the sun was setting indicating it was evening.

A mansion was located on a hill on the western side of the capital near the royal capital, this is where merchants and wealthy people lived , it was Known as Rich man's neighborhood, it is here where Abyss resided with his sister.

Raven could be seen entering the gates of the mansion, there were no guards or anything of the sort or that's how it would seem to anyone who doesn't live there. On four corners of the mansion's yard there statues of armour , standing at 4 meters tall each holding a different weapon in their hands , there were two more standing opposite each other on either side of the gates.

To others these statues would seem as decorations but they were actually enchanted armour given artificial souls by abyss using dark magic , they and their weapons were made of mythril for better magic conduction and adamantium for nearly indestructible bodies, they commanded to kill anyone who tried to intrude or enter without permission so in short they were guardians of the mansion.

Raven had been given permission to enter and leave freely and so they didn't attack but even she didn't know that if she showed even the slightest bit of malice the statues would kill immediately to her they were just decorations only Abyss and Vanessa knew what these were.

She proceeded to walknon the stone walkway, passing by neatly trimmed grass, bushes and trees on her way to the door, they neatly arranged to display the grandiose of the mansion akin to that of nobles.

When she neared the door she knocked and a maid came to open the door for her. The mansion compromised of 1 butler, 10 maids and 2 groundskeepers all were in charge of handling the mansion's upkeep.

"Ah miss raven how nice of to visit again, please come in" the maid said politely with a smile as she opened the door for raven. The servants were all nice people and raven always enjoyed their company whenever Vanessa was not home or busy with other things, they were all treated fairly and so they didn't have any complaints unless be treated too nicely was a crime.

"Yes thank you 😊 and how are you christa" raven said. "I'm fine thanks, you will find the master and young miss in the dining room, dinner will be there shortly" the maid , christa replied as she closed the door.

Raven proceeded to enter and a minute later she arrived in the dining room where she saw Vanessa seated with her brother on a long table the table was 4 meters in length and 1,5 meters in width. Abyss was seated at the head of the table where he could see the entrance from and Vanessa was seated on a chair closest to him on his left.

Vanessa upon seeing her friend spoke "hey so you finally made, sit wherever you like and I'll introduce you to my brother" she said. Raven chose to sit next to Vanessa and said "good evening".

"Well brother this is the friend I was telling you about, we met when I enrolled at the magic academy and her name is raven and raven this is my older brother chaos "she said. " A pleasure to meet you sir"raven said.

" The pleasure is all mine and please call me chaos no need for the sir"abyss said. " Huh no fair , why does she get to call you by name when I don't "Vanessa said with a pout. " You never asked and I never said anything but you can call me by name if you want" abyss replied.

"Nah I'll just stick to brother" Vanessa said. After dinner they sat there talking about random things but mostly it was just abyss asking what Vanessa had been doing all the years he wasn't there with her. 2 hours later "it happens that I have received another task so I'll be leaving again Tomorrow morning though I'll return by evening or the morning 🌄 of the day after"abyss said.

" Again,why do you have to leave to so soon, we haven't even spent much time together "Vanessa complained. " Well I don't necessarily have to go but how else will I amuse myself if I don't "Abyss replied back to her. " At least take me with you brother, please "she said.

" I could but aren't you supposed to go to school tomorrow "Abyss asked. " No tomorrow is break day so no I don't have school tomorrow "Vanessa said. " Fine you can come with me"abyss said.

" Yes but can she come with us as well "Vanessa said referring to raven. "psst why did you say that "raven said whispering to Vanessa. " You said you wanted to know how strong someone who can exit the continent is so I'm giving you the opportunity to see that "Vanessa said.

" Well can she come with us " Vanessa asked while looking intently at Abyss. He began walking out of the room and when he was at the door he stopped "You didn't have to whisper knowing very well I could hear everything you said but whatever, we leave at dawn be ready by then" he said while he walked out of the room.

"Well you heard him , let's go you can sleep with me tonight" Vanessa said as they went to the room
