A New Bully

The girl was surprised by Abel. She had seen him while she passed the stage and it didn't look like he was going to make it. Yet, here he was before her.

She had taken the room at the end of the hallway, to be free from observation, and had taken the bunk by the rickety window, the only source of airflow in the room. While the other kids where fighting over it, he had decided to stay behind the door.

She was particularly hurt by the fact that he ignored her despite her beauty. He had not even offered a word, not to mention their names, they were practically strangers. He completely disregarded her.

Abel didn't know what to do, 'should I kill her? No, that would be too dangerous, the kidnappers might punish me for damaging their ward.'

'Hmm…'

He decided not to kill her, nothing good would come out of causing trouble this early. 'Should I admit it? How did she know?' He decided to play it safe.

"And what of it?"

He replied like he didn't care.

"That's because I didn't take mine, either." The girl smiled at him.

'What!, how is that possible?'

"Why didn't you take it?"

"Well, I thought it was preposterous for our kidnappers to be so kind as to give us potions to release our fatigue when they had no problems killing us whatsoever."

"How did you avoid it?"

"Well, it's likely the same as rest of them I have a blessing."

'This girl could be lying,' Abel mulled his thoughts over, but there was nothing he could do.

It wasn't like she would tell him how she avoided drinking the potion even if he asked.

"So now let's do our best and work together to get out of here."

"Why should I?" 'You have no intentions of telling me how you avoided taking the potion.'

"Well, If we want to live here alive we have to work together." He sure is stubborn.

She really was simple-minded, did she honestly think I'd agree to this.

"I don't want to."

"Why?" she was shocked.

"I have no intention of escaping. I'll do as I'm told as long as my life is not in danger."

"Are you a chicken? You look so brave and determined I guess you had no balls."

Abel smiled mischievous, "not only that I'm spineless as well, my determination is to stay alive. I have absolutely no intention of putting myself in harms way? If a safe and secure escape plan comes along I'll sail with it, but for now, I absolutely have no intentions of escaping."

"They might let us off easy."

"You wish, they would rather make a memorable example out of us."

"Sigh, so you're not so stupid after all just gutless, well I guess it's fine then."

The girl stared out the window, "forget I said anything. I was planning to use the fact that you didn't take the elixir against you, but with the way things are now, you'd probably turn yourself in before I even had the chance to one up you. It's become useless."

"So let's just keep this as our little secret and help each other out OK."

"I'll do as much as I can."

"You don't have to be so distant."

"I'll keep that in mind."

"You're not even listening well whatever, it's not like it matters, call me Magenta."

"I'm Abel."

"Ah, Abel. That's a lovely name from the forsaken planet Erastis. One of the few forgotten noble names, do you have a lifeline?"

This girl is dangerous  she had a danger that never crossed the line always dancing over the edge daring you to go in further with her sweet smile and amber eyes

"No, I don't have one."

"That's too bad, I was sure you did since your hair is glazed even without manifestation, that's why I assumed you were willing to gamble with your live knowing your value was I wrong oh well?"

"I had a nice chat."

"Me too, let's do this again later, ha-ha." she chuckled and stared out the window.

Abel once again climbed back onto his bed to continue his sleep, but it seemed like fate was playing a cruel prank on him, the door flew open and the rest of the roommates arrived.

Evening soon came, and the bell rang for dinner. The children had been briefed about their daily schedule for the next week. Their schedule would change depending on how well they performed each week. The children under muscles numbered 600. Each of them had to work hard to not get killed or appointed to a useless position.

According to the schedule, they would eat 2 times a day, and would have a light snack of cold pill midday, to keep them from fainting under the hot sun.

The children gathered at the food hall and went to their assigned tables. The children were chattering away excitedly as they had their food. The Food hall was Shorts domain, he didn't seem to mind what they did as long as no one disregarded the food. News circulated among the kids. It was found out that Beeve and Cheeve had taken control of the Dorm.

They had formed cliques and had already started to draw the attention of other people around them. The other children were now either avoiding them, trying to gain their friendship in one way or the other, or being subjected to misery.

One girl couldn't take the bullying and stabbed herself with a knife. She died.

Abel noticed that Short didn't make a move. It seems they wouldn't stop the kids from deciding to end their lives.

"Hu, Hu, Hu, they're all so Weak." Beeve subjected the weak, who had black hair to mistreatment, he showed his power and authority through harassing these people. He also demanded food offerings from those who wished to join him. For a bunch of trash, his group was growing at an alarming rate.

Beeve saw himself as a gentleman and a saviour for not molesting the women in his group, and keeping his ostracizing to a minimum. Instead, he shared all the beauties in the clique to his close friends, and offered to stop harassing any girl who joined of their own free will. But of course, how his men treated the girls was entirely up to them.

He had thought about murdering the others who didn't join his clique, but no one had killed yet, he didn't know how the Nesters would react, so he decided to not kill anyone for now.

He had accomplished all this in a day, so it was quite impressive how everyone followed him with no resistance. So Able was quite fascinated that no one had dared to rebel.

"Ha, ha, ha." All eyes turned to Abel's table.

When Beeve heard the laugh he thought it was a threat, but seeing the sitting position now he felt relived and humiliated. It was from The table 2W250L. They had arranged it so that the weaker you were, the lower your room number would be. From 1 being the highest which belonged to him to 50 seeing them there he felt like they were asking for it. After all, the room was a den for weak people.

He hadn't done anything about them yet, because of the Royal staying with them. He had tried to approach the Royal when he met him seemingly eavesdropping near the room door. He had invited him to the middle rooms offered to the royal kids, but he had declined.

"What was so good about room 2W250L anyway?" he squished the apple in his hand, only to see Short before him, he smiled awkwardly and placed the crushed apple in his mouth. Short left as suddenly as he had appeared.

Beeve sighed in relief.

He would remember to teach them a lesson.
