Chapter Nine

Fidal walked around, nudging the curtains aside and the dark room brightened up.

The sight of light made Lily sigh inwardly in relief.

Staying in a room with Fidal already made her wary, she didn't need to put herself at any more disadvantage.

She watched as Fidal busied herself on the shelve and wondered if she'll make it to the door if she took the opportunity to bolt out of the house.

"Sit down." Fidal's voice rang out. At her voice, a chair glided to Lily who looked at the wooden seat like it was her enemy.

A heavy table flew towards her at a fast speed, accurately pushing her to the chair and holding her down.

Surprise etched on her face as she tried to move but the table didn't budge as it held her in place. Her eyes moved to Fidal who was still busy on the shelve and didn't pay attention to her. She huffed in anger and no longer made moves to stand up.

Fidal moved from the shelve and washed her hands in the sink then wiped them and walked to Lily, unhidden interest in her face.

Lily raised her head and her lips pursed stubbornly.

"What do you know about the devil's orb?" She asked Lily as a chair flew behind her and she sat down.

Lily stared at her, contemplating her options before saying, "I don't know much about the orbs but I know that they are seven small orbs, each representing the seven kings of hell and a sharp broken piece that serves as the key. The orbs are infused into each other and the key is placed in the middle. With a core that holds enough power, it opens the gateway to the underworld. But the truth is that stuff might as well be untrue because no one has seen any orb before."

Fidal hummed and Lily sneered lightly before she continued, " The orbs are believed to have the characteristics of each king in them. The first orb representing Lucifer stands for pride and it lies in the holds of the Naraphims."

Lily paused and asked,

"Do you know who the Naraphims are?"

Fidal hummed " Two or four horned beasts with ram-like heads and the massive body of a human." she answered.

Lily eyed her lightly, at least she wasn't clueless, that was better.

"The Naraphims are essentially proud and arrogant creatures who crave the desire for control so it makes sense that the orb is with them," she stated and looked up.

Her eyes clashed with Fidal's obsidian ones and she quickly lowered her gaze. An unexplainable fear welled up in her heart.

"The second orb represents Beelzebub which is gluttony but I don't know which creature it lies with, what I do know is that there's some ancient inscription on the first which says the second lies with the most insatiable." She continued, "the third orb is Sathanas, Satan and it represents wrath. Satan is said to be a wrathful king so it is most likely interpreted to anger."

Fidal's brows frowned, ' anger?' She thought

Lily didn't notice her change and continued " The fourth orb comes from Belphegor who's said to be responsible for the sloth of man, laziness, and breeds ruthlessness.

The fifth is Mammon, greed. The greed for wealth and the sixth is the orb from the king Leviathan which represents envy..."

"Mermaids," Fidal said quietly.

Lily questioned, not understanding her flow of thoughts.

"Mermaids and sea serpents are envious creatures and the mermaids would outrightly kill," Fidal explained.

Lily hummed in agreement " Finally, Asmodeus which represents lust."

"To find each orb, the creature which they represent must be found first," Fidal said

"Most likely that will be it." Lily said and pursed her lips in reply, " can I get a pen and paper?"

Fidal's brows twitched at her rather uninterested reply as a pen and paper flew to the table.

She decided to ignore the cranky woman who was throwing a tantrum. As long as she understood that trying to escape was plain stupid, she didn't mind indulging her child-like temper for now.

The paper dropped on the table and the pen sat neatly in front of Lily who picked up the pen and drew roughly on the white sheet.

" Three years ago a team of archeologists stumbled upon some remains of a temple from the former Kainsk Empire.

Most of the then Kainsk Empire is today's Light city.

I was lucky to have been able to catch a glimpse of some of the photos taken from the ruins" She as she turned the paper towards Fidal.

Fidal looked at the paper and an arched brow raised. No doubt the drawing was of a four-horned Neraphim standing in his full glory on a raised platform with a whip in hand and humans huddled together as though they are worshipping him.

The woman could draw, she depicted each character.

"The history of the Kainsk Empire was one of the most prosperous. If you want to search for clues regarding the Naraphims, Light city has a lot of unexplored areas. There's a good start." Lily said.

Fidal stood up as her black coat flew to her and she shrugged it on. "Where is the temple located?" she asked as she grabbed her sling carry-on bag.

" In Cilicia, west of Light city," Lily responded.

Fidal's combat boots thudded on the wooden floor as she moved around the house.

She opened the shelves with powders in different jars and skimmed through them before putting some in the sling bag. she also grabbed a handful of different color candles and threw them into the bag then closed the shelve.

A pair of clothes flew to her and dropped on the tabletop which she picked up and tossed at Lily's face.

Lily immediately pulled the clothes away from her face and she glared at Fidal who barely spared her a glance and only spat out one word, "change," she said.

Her tone left no room for disagreement as she walked into a room giving Lily some space.

Lily looked at her SpongeBob houseware and the black shirt and jeans she was given and grimaced. She took off her clothes and quickly wore the ones she was provided with.

"come here," the door of the room flung open and Fidal called out.

Lily's fingers dug into her palms as she squeezed her fist in anger. she wasn't a dog or a servant for God's sake.

She walked towards Fidal who pulled her into the room that was glowing with the same smoky red void which Fidal used to bring her.

"What is going on?" Lily asked warily and Fidal smiled falsely. Lily was beginning to realize that she hated it even more when Fidal did that. It didn't mean anything good.

"We're going to Cilicia." Fidal said as she easily pished Lily towards the void "Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't die.'

' That doesn't feel reassuring' Lily thought before Fidal finally pushed her into the void.
