Chapter 38: No Other Choice
It was obvious enough to anyone with eyes that there was a shift between Scott and Lance. At first, Lance was naturally on edge after the fight between Scott and Adan. But Lance could still vividly remember the worry on Scott’s face, the wolf shifter was more concerned about Lance.
Lance had to remind himself that Adan and Scott had their own problems, but he hadn’t realized how serious it was until Adan had felt threatened by the human.
Scott had given Lance some time after the fight, knowing that most humans would be terrified at the sight of two wolf shifters fighting. But today was the first time that the pair had met up since that night, though it was one of the rarer days where they spent it with Leo and Viola, and Laurel.
“You’ve been busy with work lately, you should be careful otherwise you’ll work yourself into an early grave,” Laurel told the wolf shifter with a small smile, pressing herself into his side as if to get his attention off Viola or Lance.
