i do?

her heart raced and her mind was filled with questions and emotions as she walked down the isle with her dad holding her right arm.

Because of the veil over her face her vision was blurry but she could tell that it was indeed a happy occasion.

Guests on her left and right were smiling cheerfully and wishing her well as she gracefully approached the alter.

She stands opposite him, her soon to be husband. Her hands holding the flower were shaking, the beads of sweat on her fore head were beginning to slide down her face. She tried to steady her breathing as her heart raced nonstop.

She had a severe case of anxiety especially at occasions like this but how would her parents have known since they only cared about the familys reputation among high standardized people...

That's right … I'm doing this for the family. I love my family. I'm the only daughter I mustn't become a burden to the people I love. I must marry him... Its my responsibility right?

"Babe!" He whispered out bringing Sara back to reality.

She blinks a few times to clear her mind. "Yh?" She answered.

"We kinda lost you there for a moment". He was holding out her hand with the ring on the other.

The priest had read her her vows and when the time came to say I do she was silent. This made the crowd chatter for a bit. Her father most of all feared that she might say no. He nervously bit his lip.

Confused, Sara looked at the priest then at Silas. He immediately pointed out" you have to say I do so I can put the ring on your finger".

'Oh...At times I wish I could stay forever in my world of fantasy, the weight of the real world is quite a burden to carry. The moment I say I do to the sacred wedding vows then it'll be sealed and I'd be married but do I want this?'

"I...I do" the priest nods with a smile as her soon to be husband slowly puts the ring on her finger..

To Sara, her I do sounded more like a question. Where she comes from they believed in love after marriage and that it may take a while but She'll learn to love Silas. How silly. It was just an arranged marriage how will they ever fall in love. What really mattered was that she would be married into a wealthy and capable family which will not only boost her family's reputation but also guarantee protection.

Sara lifts his hand and after he said I do she inserted the ring in his finger. The crowd went wild clapping and cheering happily.

"I declared thee man and wife. You may kiss the bride" the priest words sounded rather painful to Sara but its too late already right?.

Silas without wasting time took off her veil and kissed her so passionately.. It was the best thing ever … to him that is.

Her eyes remained closed as he took her breath away with his kissing skills.

'Is this what it really feels like… so raw and loveless. Its supposed to taste like clouds and stars and sunset like in the romance novels so why did it feel so empty'.
