CHAPTER#9:What she couldn't foresee.

She entered the dining hall where the servants had set the table neatly with various dishes.

"Breakfast is served lady." He politely led her to the table.

"Breakfast?" She stared at him in disbelief. It was the middle of the night.

He helped her to a seat and left the room a word. Alone inside the room, some maids gathered around her to serve her breakfast.

Their presence induced a feeling of anxiety in her heart. Looking at her plate made her sick and she felt like throwing up.

Blood seeped out from the pieces of steak when cut with a knife.

She looked at the maids and then back at the plate. She could never eat the food of demonic barbarians.

Instead, tried to reach for a small boiled egg. When she let out a sudden cry in pain as she felt a hot liquid on her hand.

"Oh~My mistake. I will clean it up right away." The maids giggled as they watched Luciana tremble in pain.

"This is what self-claimed holy creatures like they deserve."

-"They're harassing me. How bold of them." she clutched the burnt wrist and tried to maintain her composure.

She got up from her chair and looked into the maid's cold eyes.

"What's your name?"

The maids laughed out loud this time.

"Why would a living dead want to know a humble maid's name?" She pointed out her finger towards Luciana.

Her hand throbbed in pain. Her heart was filled with misery and anguish. How much more should she put up with this humiliation?

The doors opened as Jafar escorted a tall man with tanned skin much darker than an average human's but lighter than a demon's. Hair slightly pulled back his face reflected the candle lights in the room.

"The master has arrived yet you're swarming around the table?" Jafar frowned and stepped aside giving way to Erebus into the room.

He looked at Luciana whose eyes were red with tears.

"My guest was supposed to be enjoying her meal."He came forward while her burnt hand caught his eye. He then looked at the maid who held the teapot. Dumbfounded as she stared back at him.

"What are you doing?"

She flinched as he raised a question here when she was caught red-handed.

"I-i was serving tea to the pris- I mean your guest, sir." she flushed as he smiled at her.

"Let me serve instead." He drew out his hand from his pocket to get the teapot from her hand.

"My! you embarrass me, sir." she handed the teapot that contained boiling tea when he raised it on top of her head pouring it down. The hall filled with her shriek and groans as every last drop of the contents was emptied from the teapot.

The servants stared at them in horror and remained silent not daring to utter a word against the wild beast.

Luciana couldn't move an inch because she couldn't risk her life to stand against the master of this domain.

She turned paler when he turned to her.

"Our laws command justice in every action."

Jafar ordered the guards for the maid to be taken into the dungeon.

"Before that, my hands are itching to move."

There was no stopping at this moment when his lips slowly curled up. The thirst for blood in his eyes shook her inner core when Jafar gave him his sword and took Luciana's hand and stepped back as far as that could count as a safe zone for him.

"Please cover your eyes for a moment miss." Jafar cast a soundproof barrier around her so the sound of cries and blood pouring on the floor would not affect her.

It didn't take a moment to draw the blade and cut off two heads at once.

He pointed his blade in the air and dared them to step forward for those who indulged in the ludicrous activity.

None dared to come forward until Jafar raised his hand when the dark wisps gathered around his hand creating a faint mist in the air allowing Erebus to see a brief part of the room.

"It seems like two third of them enjoyed bullying your precious guest." He glanced at their pale faces when they immediately fell on their knees to beg for Erebus's forgiveness.

"Spare us, my lord."

"Forgive you?"He smirked sarcastically and looked at the pathetic sight.

"Those who never considered me as their master would only dare to hurt my guest."

He sliced off their necks one after the other.

Luciana could vaguely hear the noises through the barrier cast on her. But didn't dare to uncover her face. She could imagine what would appear before her if she did. But some of them could become the victim of others' vicious actions.

"Then I shall take her back to your room master."

-"What a petty sight."

Before he could reach out for the door she slipped her hand from his and ran towards where she could hear his laughter.

"Wait!"

He failed to reach her.

"No Master Stop!"

She stepped in between the trembling servant and his blade that clashed violently with the barrier serving as her shield.

The impact was large enough to shatter it into a million pieces slowly vanishing into thin air.

The room was filled with thin black smoke and his figure appeared before her.

He stared at her in awe as she covered her face with her arms.

The room went silent, the windows opened, and the wisps flew out of the room into the darkness of night.

He glanced at the jaw-dropped aide who froze stupefied by what happened before his eyes.

"Woman. I suppose you want to die real bad huh?"

"D-Don't."

She stammered slowly opening her eyes.

"Huh?"

"Don't go off killing people like that!" she cried out with all her might.

"Hey now. This is how I repay you.-"

"This isn't how you repay someone." She cut him off before he protested his reasons.

"It's only to satisfy your bloodlust. From the moment my eyes laid on you. I knew how you're covered in blood. How many have you killed so far?"

Tears trickled down slowly as she remembered her servants lying dead before her in the village.

"But only then... What could I have done? Why did you hesitate to kill me?" she looked at him in his eyes as he remained silent.

"Is it because I am to wed your noble prince? Am I not a fake in your eyes?"

The remaining servants stood in astonishment at how a woman so weak could tame a war-crazed beast like him.

She felt dizzy and staggered trying to keep up with the bewildered beast. She fell on the floor before his eyes.

He caught her instinctively and saw traces of magic around her.

"I thought this spell would not have worked on her. Considering the anger she holds for you."

"Jafar." He looked at his aide who came near him and then back at her.

-"She's right... Why? Why did I hesitate to kill her?"
