Chapter Nine

They gathered in the tent used as the board room with Ayooni and Yemi as the team leaders. For the past five years, we have done research about this mountain and its connection to Anka village all we got is nothing except that in it lies a portal to the forbidden village, Asani began.

Folklore was all that we thought it was when were serving here, "For the door will open for the one who seeks it and the one who shows the path. For the one who sees the past will be the question and the one who shows it is the answer and their kin who comes with and in them, the truth is seen and the lies is kept at bay", that's how it goes and it follows with a very tragic story which we don't know which is true by the way, there are some ad ups and removal she answered Kunle's unspoken question.

Many years ago, in a kingdom filled with gold and riches and many of what people will dream of, the people were sad to live well, with a good bed to sleep in and good food, but what is there in the land that in itself is prosperity, it's the fact that people in this kingdom are never satisfied and each person sees the next person as a peasant.

Years passed and this continued, people prospered but they never liked each other, even spouses were not fond of one another, no love, no hatred people were just there living their daily lives and seeking more wealth until it came to a King named Utaka. During Utaka's reign he introduced that people start paying tributes to the royal family as a form of tax and loyalties, the richer you are the higher you pay.

And like a flash this tax payment brought a little balance to the kingdom and it appears some people are not as rich as they claim to be and some are richer than they are, nonetheless, the king demands, so it must be giving. the king began giving out the accumulated money to neighbouring villages who weren't as prosperous as they are and he accumulated a vast empire twice his father's reign. People loved him so much that they bestowed him with gifts and praises, and then one day, he was given a very beautiful maiden called Wura.

Wura is said t be the most beautiful maiden in all of the lands, she has a dark porcelain body with very deep blue eyes, which is uncommon. Wura is also said to have sight, she can see far well into the future than no seer could. For this, she was loved by the king and also the King's brother who was always locked in the shadows.

Wura's arrival at the palace brought an uproar in the palace by the other king's wives as she was highly favoured by the king. But she was unconcerned by it, she didn't like the king and she felt the king people revered and loved wasn't the same person she was married to. Months after her marriage to the king, she refuses to consummate her marriage as she has no affinity towards him, this irks Utaka and he locks her up as a sage who tells him what she sees. During one of the sessions in lock up, she met with the king's brother Ayu who was a splitting image of the king.

That's when she found out that the people's real king was on hold and all the ideas came from him, the one on the throne was nothing but a greedy person who was using a farce to con out the people of his kingdom. So, Wura and Ayu started as friends and she taught him the art of divination, then they became the Oracle and the divination, but that wasn't all, they fell deeply in love with each other making Utaka extremely jealous.

Years pass by and this relationship continues, but Utaka is growing more greedy and people are beginning to see him for who he is and eventually finding out about his hidden brother and his magnificence with Wura. Utaka became increasingly conceited after this and sought other ways to gain Wura on his side and push his brother out of the way completely. So he sent Ayu on a journey to an enemy state to gain intel and ensured he never returned. Plagued by her lover's demise and the brutality of the husband she married towards her, Wura killed herself and left the kingdom in peril.

That was the story we heard of and has been passed down from generation to this day, there are also parts where it was made known that Wura had given birth to Ayu's baby, a girl and was taken away from that village to a nearby town Anka, brought up here and catered for by a woman who was Cassandra's ancestor's and she got married to a man from Anka, their offspring spreading and marrying off to different tribes and people till it got to us all.

So you saying, Yomi asked if we are all distant relatives? Wow, I never knew I would be meeting my cousins here, hello cousin, he said teasingly to Anike who rolled her eyes. What I am saying is that Asani cut him off, the facts we have at hand have some loopholes in them, we need to get answers from that cave, and extract facts, and Ayooni and Yemi need to harness what they shared. Because from what I gathered here, they are the triggers that pull us all in.
