Essences- Spoiler

First off, CYOA Essences are from Choose Your Own Adventure. Each one infuses you with various effects that cannot be taken from you unless you willingly allow it. 

Honestly, please read the first chapter and come back to this. Tristan was given these essences in his first life, and they were sealed so that Tristan couldn't use them immediately, and the trade-off for it would be horrible luck. The fact that his bad luck didn't hit him until he was at his peak is lucky in itself. And if it weren't for a particular entity giving him these essences, he could've lived a fantastic life with his Fiance and original family intact. He will have four essences that aren't instant power-ups unless emotionally driven for something, like survival in combat. Also, he has no knowledge of these essences, but he does have an Avatar (think of a second conscious the great sage from Tensura or a stand) to help and guide him and add with a familiar spirit guide, using one of them. In contrast, the other essence is basically unpredictable but easy to use on his travels and become an upstanding 'citizen' who will not evade 'taxes'. As the social construct of the world he is in is important. He will definitely cause something else entirely, though, when he grows up again.

Essence Of Blank (NorthSouthGorem) 

By taking this essence, you gain but one benefit:

Your potential becomes limitless. You can learn any discipline or skillset, even if you shouldn't be capable of it, without forgetting it and practice them into mastery, no matter how much you learn. Any abilities you have from other Essences will increase where possible and develop in ways beyond their initial purposes.

Essence Of Shadows(sealed till tragedy in WOD) (NorthSouthGorem)

(unlike other mages, Tristan will be directly in tune with his path and use his shadows as if it's natural for him, but will have to work on it. Mages (Mostly archmages) are basically reality manipulators on steroids, and the only thing that is holding them back are paradoxes, which function as a form of penalties and a leash to keep them in line.)

Advantage- Shadow essence plays a huge role in his path as a mage, and that path should be from the Lone Tower path of the Unkown because this essence isn't from WOD; it follows its own laws from the Arcanum. Like any shadows, they are hidden from the human consensus until a person uses them like an idiot... Also, during my research, I may have unknowingly introduced a new personal Supernal realm in which there were five of them, and they are the platonic, symbolic, underlying "source code" of reality. Consisting of symbols, they express the underlying "Patterns" of the things found in the Fallen World. Together, these symbols of what Is form a cohesive whole referred to as the Tapestry. Really, they are higher "planes" of existence from which all magic springs, and I basically introduced a new and personal supernal out of nowhere; simply, his shadow essence actually mirrors the other five supernal. Still, luckily Tristan doesn't know shit about WOD, and this new Supernal that I'll say again mirrors the other five supernals is growing along with him, and it won't make waves, meaning he gotta work, too, as suffering will equal growth. His shadow essence just adapted to the absurdity of WOD.

Disadvantage- A certain vampire clan will become interested in this essence. Especially an antediluvian, a first-generation vampire that is literally a plot device in power.

This ink-black essence is cool and has a curious, velvety texture.

* Upon drinking the essence, you will gain the ability to command the ever-present darkness and shadows. Initially, your control will extend to only your own shadow and any natural shade that it connects to, but practice will expand your range.

* You may form shadows into solid materials. Practice will increase the amount of properties you may add to them, as well as their complexity and ability to maintain form without concentration. The easiest thing to form is blade-like tendrils.

* Your physical attributes will be boosted significantly whenever you are in the shade. Time will increase this boost, and eventually, your baseline will increase even when in the light.

* You may snuff out and dampen any form of light in the area. Over time and with practice, you may draw veils of night across the sky.

* All creatures associated with darkness will find themselves deferring to you. Weaker ones will obey you unquestioningly, and time, practice and effort will allow you to exert your will over more powerful ones.

* You may store any objects and creatures inside a shadow world accessible only by you through shadows. You may also use this world to quickly travel through shadows. At first, any objects stored in your own shadow will weigh down on you, but over time, this will decrease. In addition, the shadow world may allow you to connect to other universes...(A Safe ticket out of the WOD world)

* Moonlight will not weaken your powers, and you can generate it for yourself.

* You can see perfectly even in total darkness.

* The shadow world is filled with a bottomless reserve of energy, which is formed whenever magical energy is expended. You may use this cast-off byproduct to cast shadowy versions of any magic you acquire, making it more subtle than the normal version.

Essence Of The Anomaly Saugo

(extremely slow growth for this till tragedy, as the focus will be on his new temporary family until like three to four chapters, till tragedy strikes again, might be shorter as the few chapters are introductory to the world he is living in. This slow growth at the start may go against my other essence, but my focus is on character development more. The extremely slow growth is just for him to realize that he has something but can't put any ideas of it as of yet, and because he is with a new family that loves him too.)

(I love this essence. Just like the Shadow Essence, you will need to work for it, and it is unique in the World Of Darkness that could ignore the Paradox entirely for mages. And no paradox spirit will be created. And a potential organization can be created)

Also entirely separated from WOD, the shadow essence adapted while the Anomaly went with its own root of evolution, as that is what it is.

By drinking this distorted liquid that seems to emit bright black light, you gain the following powers.

* You gain an anomalous pool of power permanently linked to your very being. You can shape it, giving you, or an object, place, etc, anomalous properties. These start as fairly small. In your hands, a toothbrush might erase all nonliving matter touching its bristles, a pencil sharpener might keep thinning to the point past what is physically possible, and you could change your biology or warp reality in minor ways. This reservoir fills when expended and can be recalled back to you, removing the anomalous properties.

* The more it is used, the more anomalous the effects, and just living with it all slowly increases the pool of anomalous power you possess. Become a living idea, wear someone's identity while changing nothing else, become a being of non-existence or a powerful type green reality bender, and more. (He might build a factory for toys at some point.)

* Your mind and being will find these changes as easy as breathing since this power is linked to you on all levels. You will not lose yourself by changing into a form so alien it would break the human mind.

* Eventually, with much practice, training, and time, you can equal any SCP in the SCP: wiki and even surpass them, reaching the pinnacle of what is possible from the anomalous. (This part was a bit broad, as the SCP wiki also has other branches; from that, I'm guessing it includes all the other branches, too.)

(I want to give Tristan the Constantine treatment; he will be protected for the most part, while anyone else who is a friend will suffer because of his luck. It was also modified so that the Essences can't be used until reincarnation and timed to a certain age of danger approaching) luckily, Paradox won't be too big of a problem if he uses their world magic system unless their police squad had enough and pulls up trying to find him.

Drinking this rainbow-colored shield-shaped essence, you gain the following benefits.

* You gain a limitless, unbreakable, unshakable will; even the greatest of unspeakable horrors will not even make you flinch. You will be able to endure even the most tremendous hardships and not so much as bending. (But because of the world he is getting into, it might be a new norm for Tristan, leading to different problems psychologically, but because of the ability of the essence, it will probably say, 'Who cares about mental health?'🤕 And also willpower is important in the world of darkness, but Tristan won't have to worry about losing his willpower because of this)

* You are protected from all forms of time manipulation, not only allowing you to move freely inside of even a time stop but also protecting you from not only having your timeline changed but also keeping you from being erased from the timeline. This, of course, protects you from being rapidly aged or de-aged

* You are protected from all life, power, mana, and soul-draining effects.

* Your Essences and other Powers cannot be stolen from you, sealed away, or copied.

* You are protected from reality manipulation, ensuring that you can never be erased from reality. 

* You are protected from instant death effects; if your opponent wants to kill you, they must do it the hard way.

* You are protected from all forms of mental manipulation or eavesdropping.

* You are protected from all forms of possession unless you allow it.

* You are now Fateless; the chains that bind all have no hold on you anymore; you are free to choose your path, and no one but you have a say in it. This also has the side effect of making it impossible to predict using precognition or other types of fate reading. (albeit Tristan will suffer in different ways, and also nightly creatures will be interested in him because of his shadow essence if they are at a certain proximity . . . . It's not a good thing regarding vamps in The World Of Darkness. :) 

* You are protected from all forms of diseases, poisons, and toxins.
