Healed Ava

East Path of the Gruesome Forest

Chase cradled Ava in his arms, carefully examining her body to assess her vital signs breathing, pulse, and other indicators of health.

Raising his gaze, Chase analyzed his surroundings with heightened awareness, seeking any clues or potential causes for the situation.

"All the wolves are dead," Chase reported, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor through the current situation"Aside from a claw scratch, it doesn't appear to be anything serious."

Chase's attention returned to Ava's body as his mind raced through worst-case scenarios and potential outcomes.

"Let's check her health using the system," Chase suggested, activating the system and scanning Ava's statistics. Clinging to optimism and positive thoughts, he awaited the results.

"What a relief. She seems fine," Chase remarked, embracing a sense of acceptance and letting go of past worries. "Other than losing blood from the wolf's claw."

"I should return to the Crimson Guild. Maybe they will have answers," Chase decided, seeking assistance. "But first..."

Chase gently placed Ava on the ground and approached the dead wolves'.

"I'm sorry, Ava," Chase murmured apologetically. "But we need them."

Crouching down, Chase began digging and extracted the wolves' fangs and nails. If he didn't have these items, they would fail to prove their accomplishment to the guild.

After collecting all the wolf fangs and nails, Chase picked up Ava once more.

"I've used the system's storage before," Chase commented. He utilized the system to retrieve Ava's axes, which quickly disappeared into the inventory.

As he peered inside the inventory, he saw the dual axes floating and spinning in a circle.

"Nice. Now, let's go," Chase said, elated by the capabilities of the system. He started running toward Talia Kingdom, eager to return to the Crimson Guild.

The Crimson Guild

Chase burst through the guild's doors, drawing everyone's attention.

"Ema, I need your help. Something's wrong with Ava," Chase urgently called out, making his way quickly to the front desk where Ema stood.

"Whoa, what's going on?"

"Who's, it's that kid."

"These two came here earlier today, and it seems like something went wrong."

The other adventurers in the room began whispering among themselves.

"What happened, Chase?" Ema inquired, employing quick and efficient movements to assess Ava's condition.

"I don't know, but can you help her first?" Chase responded urgently, displaying an intense focus on the task at hand.

Ema took a few more moments to examine Ava's body, noticing the claw scratch on her shoulder.

"Quickly, bring her to the back," Ema directed, pointing Chase toward a door on the side.

Chase swiftly entered the designated room as Ema led him through. Inside, the room was filled with feminine items, seems like it was Ema's room.

"Place her on the bed," Ema instructed Chase. "And step back."

"Okay, what now?" Chase inquired, his brows furrowing with uncertainty.

Ema approached Ava. "Now, I will heal her."

"What do you mean? How?" Chase asked, seeking clarification.

Ema positioned herself beside Ava and extended her hand, causing a green glow similar to that of Chase's mother, Kate, to emanate from her palm.

"Wow, you can use magic," Chase exclaimed in shock, not yet fully comprehending the existence of elves and their magical abilities.

"Yes, while elves are typically proficient in using weapons, we are also skilled in magic," Ema explained as the wound on Ava's shoulder began slowly healing.

"Now, can you tell me what happened out there in the forest that caused this?" Ema inquired, looking at Chase closely, observing his nonverbal cues for additional information.

"Well, when we entered the forest," Chase began, recounting the entire story about their journey, encountering the wolves, waiting for Ava, and ultimately finding her unconscious with dead wolves surrounding her.

"That's all I know," Chase concluded, providing a thorough account of what had occurred.

Ema turned her attention back to Ava, her expression indicating that she had already assessed the situation.

"Chase, I need you to leave the room," Ema suddenly requested.

"What? Why? No, I can't leave Ava alone," Chase objected, his concern for their well-being evident.

"Chase, I need you to leave so I can focus on healing Ava," Ema clarified, her tone firm but compassionate.

Reluctantly, Chase acquiesced, his expression hesitant. He understood the necessity of allowing Ema to work without distractions.

While leaving the room, Chase was on the verge of threatening Ema if she did anything wrong. However, he held himself back, aware of the immense power wielded by the guild.

"Hmm," Ema thought, observing Chase's departure. As soon as he was gone, the progress of the healing rapidly increased as the claw scratch disappeared, as if Ema had intentionally slowed it down earlier.

"Now, let's find out what caused you to lose consciousness," Ema muttered to herself, engaging in an internal dialogue of self-questioning and analysis, about what caused ava situation.

Ema then put her head on ava head and a deep blue glow emanate from her hand, after a couple of seconds on Ava's head she pulled away her hand.

'A broken mind' Ema thought,' she killed all the wolves then passed out'

Ema grabbed a nearby container of water and began carefully feeding it to Ava. Afterward, she walked to the door and opened it, revealing a surprised Chase nearly stumbling inside.

"Sorry," Chase apologized, scratching his head in embarrassment at being caught off guard.

When Chase looked towards Ava, he noticed that her claw scratch had disappeared.

"I have to tell you something," Ema began, walking back to Ava.

"What?" Chase asked, his brows furrowed, preparing himself for the worst-case scenario.

"Ava has a broken mind," Ema stated matter-of-factly, causing Chase to freeze in shock.

"A broken mind? Is that bad?" Chase inquired, tilting his head to one side in contemplation.

"Sometimes, yes," Ema acknowledged, causing Chase to panic. "But luckily for Ava, it's not..."

Chase released a held breath or let out a long exhalation. "What a relief," he expressed, reflecting on the potential severity of Ava's condition.

"What does a broken mind mean?" Chase questioned. "And what happens now?"

"I can't tell you why Ava has a broken mind, nor can I explain its nature. I don't want you to rush and inadvertently worsen her condition," Ema cautioned.

"Okay, thank you for not telling me," Chase responded gratefully, realizing that he may have unintentionally alarmed Ava.

"She will regain consciousness in a couple of hours," Ema assured him. "In the meantime, I can examine the wolf tasks."

Ema and Chase stepped outside and entered a trade booth. Inside, there were two cotton seats and a small round table at the center where they could conduct their business.

"Give me the task plank, wolf nails, and fangs," Ema requested.

Chase took out his pouch and also retrieved the pouch he had taken from Ava while they were in the forest.

Ema took the pouches and emptied their contents onto the table, revealing bloodied fangs and nails.

She examined them for a brief moment before redirecting her attention to Chase.

"Congratulations to Chase and Ava on becoming adventurers," Ema announced, complimenting their achievements.

"Thanks," Chase replied gratefully, though he couldn't help but wish Ava were there to hear it.

A purple ring on Ema's finger suddenly glowed, and a small normal card, two transparent cards, and two bronze rings appeared before her.

Chase was taken aback by the sight.

'Is that ring similar to the system storage?' Chase pondered.

"These are your equipment," Ema explained, pointing to a plain white card with written instructions. "This card contains the rules you need to read. Breaking certain rules can result in being disbanded from the guild or even killed."

Ema then indicated the bronze rings.

"These are your storage rings. Each can hold objects up to 100 meters, but remember, they cannot store living beings," Ema emphasized not storing living beings.

Lastly, she pointed to the transparent cards.

"This is your adventurer's card. It contains magic and requires power stones to function. You'll need to input your name, race, gender, class, age, and more," Ema explained. "You can use it to select tasks from a distance, depending on your location."

Ema pushed all the cards and rings toward Chase.

"Thanks," Chase expressed, carefully storing Ava's card and ring away for safekeeping.
