Calm before the storm
As soon as we got to the penthouse, I headed to my room to shower. I was tired and I wanted to get rid of anything that reminded me that I had been arrested not too many hours before. Even the sweat was a reminder of my arrest.
I let the water fall down my body as I recounted everything that had happened. A feeling settled in my chest. It was a sense of unease and I didn't understand it. I already knew I wasn't going to prison because Michael had decided to help us settle the matter out of court.
So, what was the problem?
For some reason, I couldn't shake off the bad feeling. It felt as though we were in the moment of the calm before the storm.
"That's crazy, Leela, " I told myself.
After I was done with my shower, I wore pajamas and went to the living room to eat. There was a maid that had prepared food for us. Kai and Zeus were talking as I sat down at the table. Unlike before, they didn't stop speaking once I entered the room.
