"I want you to get rid of one of the Jaegers members and I also want to keep their Teigu, obviously, I can swear I won't use that Teigu against the Revolutionary army." Valdis explained with a relaxed smile.

"...Are you betraying them too?" Akame found his offer to be too good to be the truth.

"Nah, they are just an eyesore who are suspicious of me. That person probably suspects my involvement with you guys by now. Don't act like it's not a good offer, I will also be generous enough to create a chance for you to kill that person by luring them out." Valdis shrugged his shoulders.

"I see...Who is the target?" Akame certainly had no problem with such a condition, however, she was kind of reluctant to give up on Teigu as it could tremendously help them against the Empire.

"A guy named Dr. Stylish, killing him will be very annoying since he has many minions loyal to him. Most of them were experimented on with his Teigu which makes his surgeries many times faster and more accurate. It's not a combat type of Teigu but you should be wary of poisons, dopings and other such tricks" Valdis leaned against the tree and explained. The only reason why he informed her was that he had no faith in Stylish being capable of killing a single person from Night Raid in the first place.

'Run is probably suspicious of me too, however, I have no need to take care of him since he only cares about his revenge. He doesn't give a shit about this corrupted Empire.'

"What is your goal? Why are you doing this?" Akame frowned when she heard such valuable information.

"You wouldn't understand even if I honestly told you, trust me on this. Do you accept this offer or not?" Valdis urged her to make a decision.

"I came here with full authority, and Night Raid accepts your offer, is what I want to say, however, how will you treat Kurome's brainwashing? Where is any guarantee that you will keep your word?" Akame asked with a dubious expression.

"I can get rid of that brainwashing without inflicting any physical pain on her. If you don't trust me then bring a brainwashed person to me and I will show you right now, however, I won't fulfill my part of the deal before you do yours. You should be grateful to me instead of doubting me since you will be able to kill one of your main enemies." Valdis replied with a confident smile which caused Akame to frown.

'For that, we would need to capture a member of Dark Squad, I doubt we have time for that. And he is right, it would be a blessing if we could safely kill one of the Empire's Teigu users, still, I don't feel too well about leaving Teigu in his hands' Akame wanted proof but she had no time for this.

"Alright, we accept but this is a one-time deal, after the deal is done, we will continue being enemies." Akame nodded her head.

"Naturally, I believe your scouts near the Capital will inform you every time I leave the city. If they will also spot someone tailing me, you will know it's time." Valdis said before he turned around and started leaving at a leisure pace.

"Wait, I don't understand... Why do you need to incite the wrath of both sides on you?! Are you aware that if all of your deeds are revealed to the public, both sides will be targeting you?" Akame's words caused him to stop and turn at her.

"You probably believe the strong should protect the weak, however, that's your belief and you fight for it...My belief is different and it's not right for you to try to forcefully change it. I believe I am responsible only for myself and for the people I care about. I used to be weak and was mistreated just as many others, therefore I should understand them more than anyone else, right? I do understand them but why should I do something the others did not do for me? To break a cycle of the strong mistreating the weak? Am I obliged to do that?" Valdis explained before he left.

"..." Akame just shook her head with a disappointed expression.

Valdis returned to the Palace and continued living among the Jaegers. He went hunting with Esdeath a few times but he also slowly started venturing outside all on his own. Since Esdeath has seen part of his strength several times already, she decided to let him do as he wishes, that is as long as he returns back to her.

Valdis also started acting a bit more suspicious every time he felt someone watching him from the darkness. He would sometimes send a messenger bird somewhere in front of their eyes or would simply write a diary about Jaegers's powers, hiding it inside his room. With his Sharingan, he obviously noticed minuscule changes within his room and knew that one of the Stylish's minions definitely took several peeks into his diary.

Valdis was once again leaving the Capital to go hunting and hone his skills today.

'Yesterday I sent a messenger bird that was later intercepted by Stylish's minions right outside of the Capital. If he read the message, he is definitely going to follow me today and he will most likely also come alone. He is too selfish, he didn't even bother reporting to Esdeath when he discovered Night Raid's hideout in the original.' Valdis thought as he was leaving the Capital with a smile on his face. During the past days, he also grew closer to Kurome who was slowly putting the wall between them down.

His points were steadily growing and today he expected to gain a whole large amount of them, hopefully, enough to upgrade his Physique. Valdis also started wondering whether the potions in his shop could be used by the others since he could still purchase them.

'If I could make someone like Esdeath act according to my intentions, I certainly wouldn't mind making her stronger. She is very possessive but at the same time protective, if I could tune her possessiveness down, I could make use of her. It would be even better if I could take her to another world with me since her morals and power are just what I need.' Valdis thought as he was walking through the forest around 10 kilometers southwest of the Capital, to avoid Night Raid's hideout.

Suddenly, he stopped walking as he heard the faint sound of battle some distance behind him.

'It feels good to have others do dirty work for you. It might be even more entertaining to let others kill themselves without raising my finger. I would even send Esdeath to deal with Tatsumi and Akame in my stead but Tatsumi's Teigu would be able to adapt to her ice attacks so I probably should take care of him myself. I also obviously don't intend to just clear Kurome's mind of brainwashing without adding some ideas of my own just in case something won't go along with my plans. She will be my little hidden trump card. Coincidentally, Kurome is probably the one with the weakest mind of all strong people in this world. She has so many weaknesses she wishes to hide that I can exploit with the help of my Mangekyo Sharingan, I should have no trouble controlling her without her even being aware.' Valdis's lips curled up into an amused smile while he was holding his chin

'Now...once Akame and the others will dispose of Stylish, I will get his Teigu and finally try out that new function to dismantle Teigu. They also won't be able to put blame on me since there should be marks of Murasame on his body plus no one knows where he is sneaking off to all the time.' Valdis thought as he sneaked back to take a look at the battle.
