Chapter 14

~Chloe ~

Molly and Antonio sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G

My subconscious was seriously mocking me and i hated it when she was like this, i hated the fact that she could be right, i hated the fact that they were having something i could never have. I sighed deeply wondering what to do about it but nothing was coming to mind heck i can't even think straight with images of them kissing on a tree popping up in my head.

I groan inwardly wishing the images would just go away. Thankfully it did work and that was because our civic education teacher called me to answer a question.

"Chloe, i see your head is far up in the cloud, so answer this question correctly and that way I'll known if you're still in this class with us."

"Mmmm"

I responded snapping out of my thoughts, i just secretly prayed i knew the answer to this question and my prayers where answered.

"What year was the amalgamation of Nigeria?"

"In the year 1914 sir"

"Who was the president of Nigeria in the year 2000"

"President Olusegun Obasanjo sir"

I answered correctly but he wasn't satisfied, he kept asking and asking - including the ones that were not relevant to civil education, i was glad luck was on my side today as i answered ever single one of his question correctly. After wasting 20mins on question and answer just to be sure my body, soul and spirit was in his class, he finally let me of with a warning and i had no other choice but to pay rapt attention to the rest of his teaching.

Molly and Antonio sitting in a tree--

I swear to God if you sing that song one more time

I responded to my subconsciousness as i gave her a Diane Johnson's signature death glare, that immediately caused her to zip it as we both concentrated on what the civic education teacher was talking about. Class went on for another hour till 11 o'clock. Immediately the class ended our mathematics teacher walked in and everyone groans loudly.

Get this straight we don't hate him, oh no hate is such a strong word, despise is more like it. This man is know to be the worst nightmare of all of Westley Academy, i honestly don't know how he did it but he has manage to keep that status up for as long as I can remember. He walked in ignoring all our groans of displeasure.

Walking straight to the board he wrote some quadratic equations on the board  before he turned to face us with a grin on his face, it was at that moment we knew we fucked up. With the grin still plastered on his face he called four of my class mates out and that immediately gave me the chills.

"Tiana, Raliya, Thomson and of causes the star of the show, Talfick, will you four be so kind as to grace us with your presence in front of the class"

I was sweating seriously no not because the air conditioner wasn't on, oh it was and on full blast, but i was still oozing in sweat for their sake because i knew things were about to get very ugly very quickly.

Even my subconscious who was such a blabber mouth was very quiet and that only frightened me further. After 30seconds of awkward silence and the smell of fear surrounding the whole class, my subconscious spoke confirming my fear.

It's about to get real nasty Chloe Babajide, so sit tight

I gulped, swallowing hard preparing myself for the unpredictable change of event. Seconds later he spoke with that manic grin ever so present on his face,  makes me question his sanity at this moment.

"Good day students, my lovely test subject, we are going to play game called an eye for an eye. 4 students, 4 question who ever fails to solve his or her question in 3mins or gets the answer wrong will have my bad side to answer to."

You're the mathematics teacher, every side of you is bad!

Shhh! quite or you'll get us both in trouble

I'm in your head Chloe, even the greatest psycho can't hear your thought, so i doubt he heard me

I breath out like I've been holding my breath for an hour when i wasn't holding it out all. He turn to all four of then who where still standing in front of the class with fear in their eyes, handing them each a marker he guided them one after the other toward their section of the board. After he directed them on the question he wanted  them to solve he hit the buzzer so they could all start solving the question on the board.

Talfick the supposed Star students was asked to solve the toughest, most simple yet slightly complicated one. I shook my head feeling bad for him knowing he couldn't solve this one. He may have fooled us, pulled a fast one on us in solving correctly the previous equation he was asked to solve in the previous class. But this one, this one is different, this one is a trap set by our Mathematics teacher Mr... I'm too scared to mention his name.

It sure was clear, it was crystal clear that Talfick cheated  his way to get the correct answer the last class and our mathematics teacher knew it, he was only doing this to get Talfick to admit it for the second time at the detriment of his admission here. When he notice that's the other three students were working so hard to get the solution to the equations except Talfick he spoke.

"Whats the matters Talfick or should l say star student. Are you having a little problem with just a simple equation?"

"Um s...sir can't I... I...you know, maybe take it home as an assignment?".

"Home? Assignment?? Hahaha, hahahaha, hahaha, Buhahaha, hahaha such a joke. you are the star student who solved some really hard equation the last class so do it again you have 2mins left."

"But... S...sir I --"

"Do  it Talfick its down to 1min 55 sec"

"Sir i--"

"Do it!"

"I can't!! I can't solve it sir"

He finally yelled and i felt sorry for him he couldn't handle the pressure. I was more surprised he didn't pee his pants  under that much pressure, i guess that's because his secret crush was one of the back benchers like me. It was already bad enough that he was sweating like one who narrowly escaped a plane crash- I'm sure he couldn't afford peeing his pants too. With tears steaming from his eyes like a river he confessed.

"I'm sorry sir, i had a good feeling you were going to call me to solve an equation, so i sneaked into your office got the question and asked the headboy to help me solve it.  please if you can't spare me at least spare them they have nothing to do with this, please sir leave them be."

He begging while on his knees and so did half  of my class mate. I on the other had bigger things to worry about and no,  it's not my two best friends who chose to date each other behind my back, breaking our friendship rule in the process, but an old friend who my sister made me stab in the back because i was too scared to stand up for him to stand up to my sister.

I sighed hoping, would i like what i would see when I finally summon up the courage to go and see Michael Jordan.
