Sahloknir

A trio of woman and elf hid behind a small alcove of ice ladened rock. A blizzard roared a brilliant white, dusting the tops of the swaying trees with heft of slowly caressed snow.

Yet through the shadows of whirling frost. An imposing mass of pure dread hovered. Its needle like edges pointed to razor sharp wings, engulfed in dancing shadows. Large venomous red peered through the storm, exposing the beasts vengeful red eyes of pure sovereignty. A sense a regality one could only hope to achieve in their life, not knowing such a destined purpose is a gift of high birth.

Its midnight scales reflected no light. Sucking in even the shadows the blizzard pushed so hard to cast. Its impenetrable armour riddles with spikes that curled in such a way to display a shape akin to a crown of death.

"Sahloknir, ziil gro dovah ulse!" A voice so layered with power it caused all but the elf to cover their ears.

"Slen tiid vo!" The behemoth bellowed.

The sky thundered and the world twisted to the divine roar of the first born. Bone rose first, followed quickly by long rotten flesh forcing itself back to bone as if time reversed. A dragon formed from remains and an unholy shriek of a still forming dragon echoed of the trees. Shaking the very ground.

"Alduin, thuri! Boaan tiid vokriiha suleyksejun kruziik?" The revived serpent croaked.

"Geh, Sahloknir, kaali mir." The winged dread, Alduin, soothed.

Lucius felt his blood run red hearing the monstrosities name, and his heart go cold as its terrifying red gaze turned to meet his silver.

"Ful, losei Dovahkiin? Zu'u koraav nid nol dov do hi." Alduin mocked in disgust.

"You do not even know our tongue, do you? Such arrogance, to dare take for yourself the name of Dovah." Alduin sneered at Lucius.

"Had better things to do." Lucius tried putting on a strong front, ignoring his overflowing fear.

"I hear your heart mortal...Do not lie." He hissed before turning to his servant. "Sahloknir, krii daar joorre!" Alduin demanded before disappearing through the rising blizzard, with one flap of his mighty wings.

"How the fuck are we going to kill that, Lucius." A shaky voice beside him rung out.

"That's a problem for later." Lucius dismissed. "I have a bigger, scaly, one to deal with first..." He finished, casting magical armour over his robes. "I want to try killing this by myself, Ciri. That fine with you?" He asked, glancing in her direction.

"I'm helping if the situation doesn't look good." She replied.

"That's fine by me." He responded, setting himself in motion.

Another earth cracking roar resounded as he pushed off the rock, springing into action.

A bolt of black magic bounced off the dragons snout.

"I am Sahloknir! Hear my Thu'um and despair, Dovahkiin!" It mirthlessly chuckled, seeing the useless attack.

"Fo!" The dragon shouted, and a freezing blast flew past a jumping Lucius into a tree.

'Ice dragon...Let's try fire then.' He mused.

"Wuld!" Lucius cast, flying past the dragon to its rear.

Lucius charged a blade of fire and sunk the magic blade into the dragons wing. Ripping away its ability to fly.

A hiss an Lucius had to cast another whirlwind sprint to escape the hulking tail whipping the snow where he just stood.

"It's to be a real fight, then. Good!" Sahloknir yelled. "I do not fear you, Dovahkiin!"

A stream of ice and fire flew from his mouth, heading straight for a recovering Lucius.

He hastily put both hands up in a greater ward. Ice and fire split, arcing to the tree line behind him.

"My Voice has been silent for too long!" The dragon sung.

'Does this lizard ever shut up!' Lucius huffed. Jumping behind a small mound of rocks. 'I really need to make some form of focus... This ring is shit!' He cursed his own inability.

"Hiding will not save you Dovahkiin! Your voice is no match for mine!" The dragon antagonised, the hiding Lucius.

Lucius sprung forth over the rock while the dragon was boasting.

"Fus Ro!" A blast of force pummelled into the dragons nose, closing its jaw.

Lucius sprinted up to its head and shot a spike to its brain. chipping of a huge strip of its hide. Exposing an opened weakness. Lucius put his ringed hand flat into the wound and the dragons scales withered. Every moment its hide turned into a sicker pale yellow.

A bloodcurdling roar exploded from its maw and it thrashed around, knocking Lucius away into a splintered tree. A clean wound pierced his left arm, rendering it useless.

"Argh! Fucking tree branch!" He cursed.

"I see that mortals have become arrogant while I slept." The dragon lowly hushed, rage evident in its now sickly amber eyes.

"Hypocrisy- at its... finest." Lucius croaked pulling out the branch, casting a golden glow on his arm.

"My lord Alduin requires your death! I am glad to oblige him." The dragon evilly riled, and lunged for Lucius who smiled.

"Wuld!" The world spun and Lucius slid under the dragons mouth and shot a black bolt of hot lightning into the dragons unarmored stomach. It's guts spilling out, staining the snow a scarlet shade.

Lucius stood holding his limp left arm smiling, clearly overjoyed at his work.

Ciri and Delphine came out from the rock, Ciri jumped at Lucius and tackled to the ground in a hug.

"Ow! The arm!" He cried out.

"Bastard! I'm not watching that again." She said with her head buried in his chest. "And it looked like fun!" She said as she stood up, offering him a hand.

"I'll be damned, you did it! That was well done. Come on. I've been wanting a closer look at one of these buggers. Wait. Something's happening... gods above! So you really are... I... it's true, isn't it? You really are Dragonborn." Delphine shrieked.

The dragon's soul weaved its way into Lucius as he took Ciri's hand to stand, watching the dragon return to its skeletal form.

"I owe you some answers, don't I? Go ahead. Whatever you want to know. Nothing held back." Delphine said.

"The Blades? Who are they?" Lucius asked her.

"Exactly. Nobody even remembers our name these days. We used to be known across Tamriel as the protectors of the Septim Emperors. Those days are long gone, though. For the last two hundred years, we've been searching for the next Dragonborn to guide and guard, as we are sworn to do. But we never found one. Until now." She replied.

"Do you know anything about that dragon...Alduin." Lucius said, calming himself before muttering the name.

"Not a damn thing. I was just as surprised as you to find that big black dragon here." She grumbled.

"What are you going to do then?" Lucius asked, slowly rotating his left arm.

"The first thing WE need to do is figure out who's behind the dragons. The Thalmor are our best lead. If they aren't involved, they'll know who is." Delphine said, emphasising.

"Look i hate the Thalmor as much as the next person, but really?" He asked with a 'really?' face.

"My gut tells me it can't be anybody else. The Empire had captured Ulfric. The war was basically over. Then a dragon attacks, Ulfric escapes, and the war is back on. And now the dragons are attacking everywhere, indiscriminately. Skyrim is weakened, the Empire is weakened. Who else gains from that but the Thalmor?" She said with full certainty.

"So it was arrogance before, your not all stupid then...Hang on a moment." Lucius slightly mocked before setting his arm back in place. "That's better~" He sighed.

"So, we need to find out what the Thalmor know about the dragons. Any ideas?" Ciri asked, eyeing Lucius arm with a small bit of worry.

"If we could get into the Thalmor Embassy... it's the centre of their operations in Skyrim... Problem is, that place is locked up tighter than a miser's purse. They could teach me a few things about paranoia..." Delphine declared.

"Then we're fucked." Lucius mumbled.

"So how do we get into the Thalmor Embassy?" Ciri continued her questioning.

"I'm not sure yet. I have a few ideas, but I'll need some time to pull things together. I'll only be able to get one of you in there, most likely... Meet me back in Riverwood. If I'm not back when you get there, wait for me. I shouldn't be long. Keep an eye on the sky. This is only going to get worse." She finished and walked down the hill.

"Maybe the bitch thing was a defence? She's not... terrible, i suppose." Lucius pondered, watching her figure.

"If i was hunted like that i'd be a prickly bitch, too." Ciri laughed. "How's your arm?" She fussed.

"No lasting damage except from this damnable scar." He grunted, showing the star like scar that formed on his bicep.

"Oh well, a trophy that tells you lived and killed a dragon, eh?" She cheered, bumping his hip with hers with a smile.

"True enough. A good state of mind, every scar tells a story does it?" He said eyeing the scar over her emerald eye.

Noticing his gaze she stopped smiling. "A spy for my father's empire had other plans when trying to capture me...So, as any good lapdog does, he threw an orion into my face." Ciri spat.

"Well, I don't know the full story, but that scar makes you look much more appealing." Lucius winked.

"Hmm~ Does it now?" She teased, running her hand down his arm. "Not so bad yourself." She blew into his ear and smirked, turning to walk down the path with a noticeable sway in her hips.

'Damn. She wins.' Lucius thought, getting lost in the rhythm of her behind.

Ciri looked over her shoulder. "Coming~?" She veiled a purr.

How do you write action scenes? Writing tutorials or something? I really feel like mine are so abominably shit it's painful for me to press the publish button...

I sat here until 3 am just hating myself.

Apologies if it's shit.

Reread the Witcher books. Ciri ain't Bi folks, she was raped by a woman when she was still a minor. Solely liking the D.

I also think i might start another book and keep the same pace in the Middle Earth arc in this story and explore my extremely challenging idea on the side. That does not mean it will effect this story in any way.

By on the side, i mean only write one day a week.

Have a good one.

Your "patently evil" Author ;)
