Chapter 3: Cold Respond

Mira planned to take action in the next morning.

But...

"I'm tireeeed..."

Although she could easily accepted her new life, it does not mean the shock and the stress of suddenly being transported to a new place that was completely different from her past life could easily be erased.

She's having trouble sleeping. She keeps woken up because of nightmare Because of that, she only got a few hours of sleep since that evening.

Grooowwl.

"Let's think after we get some food."

She put on her robe and start headed to the first floor of the inn that also open as a restaurant.

Mira choose the table near the counter because she likes to eardrops on other people.

She looks at the menu with sparkly eyes. After debating for a while, Mira ordered a single black pepper mutton sandwich and an apple juice.

"Whoa missy~ How can you fill your stomach if you eat so little!"

As Mira was about to enjoying the food, suddenly a young man that come from who knows where start talking to her as if she was a kid next door.

"I need to be careful with my money."

Although her tone is a little bit disrespectful, the young man doesn't seems to mind it as he still trying to struck up a conversation with her.

"Is that so? But you look very rich."

Mira look around and sure enough, her attire seems like a high quality product compared to the others.

As if sensing that Mira is getting wary of his present, he tried to use a more gentle tone.

"Ah, don't worry. I'm not trying to cause you any trouble. It just seems like you're not from around here. Where did you came from?"

Sigh.

"I am tired. Not interested in talking right now."

She then procced to completely ignore him and just focus on eating.

"...Fine."

The young man look dejected as he slowly get up and headed to the stair.

Mira did not even spare him a glance as she's enjoying the food.

On the second floor, the young man who has a stoic expression instead of the dejected face earlier seems to be talking to someone.

"Hmm..."

While the young man is talking to Mira earlier, Zane was watching her every movement and action.

'The way she talk and everything!'

Zane shake his head.

'I need to calm myself down. I shouldn't get my hopes up.'

"Keep eyes on her."

He then quietly look out the window.

"Zane, Ava said they've found the location."

The butler come into the room to informed him.

"Tch!"

"Why did you make it so difficult? Just talk to her! How old are you!"

"A butler not supposed to talk so casually to his master."

"I'm not actually your butler anyway and don't change the subject!"

Charles, a dark mage who disguise himself as his butler comment angrily at his friend, Zane.

His friend Zane, usually has a gentle smile on his face but since meeting Mira, Zane can not stop frowning. It makes Charles a bit worried for his friend.

"Anyway, don't forget what we are here for."

"Alright, Alright." Zane respond nonchalantly.

Zane then headed to his room with Charles to discuss about their plan.
