Little Sister

After they had finished their lunch, Jacy and Mark were now playing together, while their mothers were busy working on the sketch plan that Sheina wanted for her company.

"So you only live with your mom?" Mark asked the little girl sitting next to him.

Jacy gave Mark a quick nod of her head.

For a moment Mark's eyes seemed to focus on the face trying to believe the words of the little girl whose age he knew was younger than him.

"How old are you?" asked Mark who was now interested in his new friend.

Jacy gave Mark a wide grin, with her raised hand giving Mark a code number three gesture.

Mark enthusiastically ruffled Jacy's hair which he now knew was far below his age.

Jacy's eyes spontaneously looked at Mark in confusion.

What was wrong with the boy in front of her? Why was he suddenly messing with her hair? Is there something she missed?

That was more or less what was in her head this time.

"Why did you mess up my hair? Is there something wrong with me?" asked Jacy innocently.

Mark quickly shook his head and said that Jacy was cute and he explained that Jacy was suitable if he considered her as his sister, after all the age gap with Jacy was quite far, which was none other than 4 years.

Jacy was just busy nodding her head. After all, Mark's statement made sense to her.

Different from Mark's previous view, it now seemed that the boy was positioning himself as Jacy's own older brother.

'Ah, it's nice to have a little sister. Why doesn't Mommy give me a sister anyway.' Mark monologued in his mind with his narrow scope of thinking.

BAM!!!

"Is that all you guys had in mind?" asked Jedd in a cold tone to his staff who were there.

Silence...

No one dared to directly reply to Jedd's cold and harsh question.

The situation in the meeting room was getting more and more tense.

Most of the staff who followed the flow of the meeting could only hold their breath, or maybe try to relax the muscles that were getting tense.

Oh come on, they didn't expect that this time Jedd seemed to be spilling his frustration at today's meeting, although they had expected that Jedd would most likely be cold or serious.

Because almost four years ago they felt that Jedd's attitude had changed 180 degrees.

If before Jedd was just a workaholic, then this time it was more than that!

Instead, Jedd now seems to be worse than the title itself.

His attitude has become more arrogant, and he is easily offended. There is no smile on Jedd's face whatsoever, and rumors are circulating that Jedd is becoming increasingly hateful towards women.

Why did Jedd become like that?

Perhaps it was because of a great regret that he could not express from his heart, thus making a gaping wound in his heart.

Honestly, if he could go back in time, or at least be given a second chance, then he would definitely take that path!

Cathleen was too precious to him. He couldn't understand how he could waste Cathleen in his life.

Why didn't he just look for her?

Of course, he had been looking for her!

It would be a lie if he never looked for any trace of Cathleen, it's just that it was as if his access was closed and he couldn't find any trace.

There was once a time when Jedd came to the office where Cathleen and Fred worked, and he earnestly kneeled in Fred's office for Fred to tell him where Cathleen was.

But unfortunately, Fred, who had promised his best friend to keep information about herself tightly closed, chose to stick to that promise.

For this reason, the relationship between Fred and Jedd seems to be quite large.

The only thing he said to Jedd at that time was 'You started it like it is now between you, and you have made a fatal mistake. For that, I can't help you with anything. As for now, Cathleen is no longer the managing director here because she has delegated it to me... So you should be able to tell for yourself why Cathleen is taking on such a big thing for her, right?

That last sentence between Fred and Jedd has been ringing in Jedd's ears ever since.

"Are you deaf? Can't you hear my question?"

The harsh words that were now coming out of Jedd's lips to his staff, who actually had quite high positions there.

Again a silence fell.

Until...

"I'm sorry sir, we haven't prepared any ideas other than the ones we've laid out here. If we could make some improvements, do you have any suggestions that we might include sir?" asked a woman, who was none other than the manager who had just been appointed to be in charge of the project's supporting design.

Jedd massaged his forehead lightly, trying to calm himself down. He felt like yelling at the woman that she dared to ask him directly. But that thought aside, was she the bravest person there?

Shouldn't he at least appreciate his staff as a boss?

"What's your name, are you new?" asked Jedd, suddenly out of sync with what was being discussed.

"Violet, I've just been appointed and entrusted with this project, sir," Violet replied, trying to remain calm in response to Jedd's words, which if she could be honest, made her feel nervous.

Jedd nodded his head slowly.

"Ah, what are you responsible for on this project?"

"I'm in charge of the supporting design sir."

Jedd again nodded his head slowly, and soon with his cold tone of voice he suddenly said something that was quite an anomaly from all the time they worked there.

"Since she is the one who only answered my question, then you are no longer in charge of the supporting design, but in charge of the main design, so you fix this design and in a week we will have another meeting. I don't want things to fall apart like this," Jedd said casually before he got up from the bench he was sitting on.

'What did I just hear?' Violet monologued in her mind after hearing a sentence she didn't expect at all.

The staff were all cursing at themselves, not daring to raise their voices at their boss.

'Why am I so tired today?' Jedd monologued as he walked out of the meeting room followed by Louise - his secretary.
