A Rich Man's Lover

This is a story about an open-relationship between an unwilling prostitute and a married man. He was in an open marriage, but she's not the wife. To be one of the many partners of a man committed to another woman was her role. She wanted to hide her feelings that were starting to grow, her longing to be by his side, and lastly herself, by virtue of an open relationship. However, it was all for naught. When everything came to light, she desired to end the relationship they had. Her last words echoed through his mind as she bid him farewell through her mournful eyes. "If only I hadn't met you, I wouldn't be hurting this badly."

February 2013: Quandary

"Good evening, sir. Are you the patient's guardian?"

"Her parents are not in the position to attend to her needs right now, so I am subbing for them. You can disclose the details to me."

Reasonably doubtful, the doctor put their hands on their hips. The woman was quite troubled on how to proceed, considering that the information regarding the lady had a certain degree of controversiality. For a few seconds, she pondered over the safest way to confront the situation. Once she arranged her thoughts, the doctor looked up at the man.

"We don't have her medical records. It will be too risky for our hospital to go ahead and operate on her. We need to consult with her cardiologist immediately. Do you know what hospital to contact?"
