The Hunters Hinted

The floor at the top of the Diamond Tower was dark, lights turned off and only Lizzy stood in the wide open floor. She walked to the windows to look out into the city. "Jealousy is a powerful weapon…" she uttered to herself. "He wasn't wrong, it's led me to this." She continued talking. Trinity flew out of her and floated around next to her.

"Are you talking to yourself?" Trinity asked

"I was talking to you! Guess someone's not paying attention." She replied

"Jealousy played a part but it's not what led you to become blood crazed like you were. The rage inducer that was placed inside me caused that and I apologize. I wouldn't betray you because I am a part of you. I can't be taken or killed as long as you're alive." Trinity explained

Lizzy sighed "I know but that craze caused me to slaughter everyone in this tower. Blinded by the anger that Jakub didn't seem to want anything to do with me. I just killed the doctor and came here from what you told me and slaughtered the reapers and humans. Although I did get a little group of people out of it."

"I don't think he wanted nothing to do with you. I think he was losing his memory due to his Grim not being able to block memory loss yet. Your rage inducer made you blind to that fact and is what caused you to decide to run away instead of facing it." Trinity replied

Lizzy stood with Trinity by her side looking over the city. "I don't know what to do, I want Jakub by my side but I want to make Pluto pay for bringing me here."

"And we will my Queen." Said Eli from behind Lizzy

Turning to Eli kneeling in front of her she spoke. "Is everything finished?"

"Yes my Queen, the ash and blood has been cleaned and we've disposed of the bodies of humans."

"Good, I want this whole floor turned into my apartment. I expect you and the others to take care of it. Also, is there another large group of reapers in Lotte?" She asked

"Many groups of reapers reside in Lotte, the main one above ground now since you've claimed the Tower, would have to be Reign. A gang of reapers led by many strong individuals located on the south side of Lotte. The southern district, one of the worst after the Black district underground." Eli informed

Lizzy told Eli to inform the others that they would be going after Reign the following night. "I'm taking everything from Pluto… we're leaving him with no ties to this place."

"If you must… but be careful not to get yourself killed." Mania spoke as she appeared staring out the window behind Lizzy. "Leaves us, boy."

"Yes ma'am." Eli spoke with a shaking voice as he got on the elevator to leave.

"I do not oppose you taking out a rival for me. I just want you to live. Artemis has Hunters all over this city and they go after most altered types. Vampires, werewolves, even the half breeds that get certain features from animals but don't completely change. They killed the last Queen. I don't want you to die."

Mania said in a concerned tone.

"How courteous for a god that demanded I kneeled in front of her." Lizzy replied

"It was to prove I was who I said. As the mother of the undead vampires are my creation. I will need you in upcoming fights, I will not stop your revenge but I do not want you dying. Create vampires, build an army of them to follow you. Any made by the last Queen died after she did, I chose you once she died. I needed someone strong and with potential to exceed their predecessor, but that person had to have never had their soul revealed. You were in the ideal situation."

Lizzy sighed "I'd rather serve you than Pluto, I guess."

"Good, like I told you on the rooftop before, I will call upon you when the time comes. No matter what it is, you shall not decline it." Mania said sternly

Lizzy nodded and Mania vanished like smoke to the wind.

Staring over the city once more to take it all in. "It truly is magnificent isn't it Trinity?" Lizzy asked as she watched down below cars flying past, street cars cruising around, the city lights all multicolored shining like neon bar signs. "You would never be able to tell something nefarious was going on here unless you were part of it. Anyway, Trinity tell me about Artemis."

"Artemis is the Greek goddess of the hunt, nothing is too big, too scary or too wild for her and her Hunters to pursue. According to information stored in me, her Hunters have pursued even reapers. They hunt anything if the price is right, kind of like bounty hunters. Artemis has a twin brother named Apollo but you shouldn't worry about him, the god of music and dance spends most of his time partying rather than fighting." Trinity informed Lizzy

Lizzy began to wonder just exactly how she was going to deal with avoiding Hunters. Hunters were the ones who killed the last Vampire Queen and she assumed that they would try to hunt down each one so that there is never time for the Queen to build an army. She wondered if Artemis had some ace up her sleeve.

Lizzy wondered if Artemis had a Hunter able to sense what would be considered supernatural beings normally but here were uncommon but real. The supernatural did not exist technically in this world because the supernatural was natural here. The Hunter she would be seeking would be someone dangerous. Someone hell bent on saving a dear friend of her own, brought in by promises from the goddess Artemis of the safe return of her best friend. The Hunter would become the natural enemy of Lizzy, going to the ends of the earth to save her friend.
