So It Begins

The following night crept up on all of them much faster than anticipated. They all stood in the living room together dressed and prepared for a fight. Elena summoned Servus to her side, Jakub summoned Zip and Emily Summoned Swoopy.

"Ah it is nice to see you young reapers once again." Servus spoke to Emily and Jakub.

"Nice to see you looking happy as always." Jakub replied and Emily giggled.

"Ah that was a joke, hilarious!" Servus replied.

Zip and Swoopy had not yet gotten to the point to have the ability to speak but they could telepathically communicate with Grims and so they did with Servus. The two acknowledged Servus as their master as he was the rightful elder of the group and had much more experience. Servus informed the two that they were not far off from being able to speak freely, he could sense the power growing inside the two of them.

"Defeating a high quality reaper while we're out will surely be beneficial for your Grims." Servus explained. "The more powerful the reaper the more power in the soul stone dropped."

"I'm curious what they are going to sound like!" Emily said excitedly.

Elena looked around as if she was sensing something or someone around them. The power in the house was cut, the house fell into darkness. Emily spoke the word Phoenix under her breath to summon her wings, the flames helping everyone to see in the dark. The moment the lights were cut Swoopy placed the barrier around Emily. Jakub had Zip activate heightened senses so he was more aware of his surroundings inside the darkness.

"Jakub absorb some of my mana to carry flames in your hand." Emily told him and so he did.

Fire flowed through his arm into his tattoo and out of his palm. Now he was able to wave his hand around to see.

Elena's wings burst from her back and her large black metal scythe appeared in her hands. "Show yourself!" She shouted.

Laughter began coming from the direction of the front door. Looking in that direction the door flew open to Blood and Witch standing by the door. The man with the antennas was behind them, he was the one cutting the power.

"You can let the lights back on, the surprise is gone." Blood said. "You can go, I can't have you dying here." The man with the antennas ran away.

"Well well well, if it isn't the daughter of the King, Princess Elena." Blood said sarcastically as he bowed. "It makes sense why it reeks of you, Servus. Disgusting excuse for a Grim." He spit on the floor.

"That's gross. You just spit on someone's carpet." Said Jakub.

"There's going to be plenty of blood here anyway." Said Witch in a really low tone.

Lizzy finally summoned Trinity, as she appeared even Elena was in shock at the sight of her Grim. The immense amount of power generated from Trinity was astonishing. Trinity's strength being shown was almost that of Servus, had Trinity been Elena's Grim she would have surpassed Servus' power.

"Yes mistress?" Trinity asked as she flew out and circled Lizzy.

"Activate senses and guns." She replied.

"Okay." Trinity replied as she latched onto Lizzy's back and the guns appeared in her hands.

Witch began generating her lightning as she had before. Blood cut his hand again to create his spear, swinging the spear downward launching blood toward the ground.

Jakub drew his swords from their sheathes. "I guess there's no talking it out huh?" He asked.

"Which of you is responsible for killing my brother?" Blood asked.

"Doesn't matter who it was, if we're fighting, you're fighting me." Jakub replied.

"You think you can beat me? With that weak little Grim?" Asked Blood. "Erupt." He spoke low just loud enough for everyone to hear him. A giant shadowy figure appeared behind him and in a very deep voice spoke. "Yes master?"

"Protect me Erupt, we have a fight to win."

"Yes master."

Elena turned toward Servus. "Put up a grand hollow zone, I don't want any unnecessary damage to the house or people here." Reality quickly was altered, twisted and bent then returned to normal in the zone.

Light once again pushed Nicole toward the back of the group, summoned her Twilight and dawned her black steel hardened armor. "You need to stay back." Nicole nodded.

"Shall we begin? Again?" Asked Blood.

Jakub charged toward Blood with his swords drawn to try and get close enough to drain mana. He swung the sword in his right hand toward Blood as Erupt grunted, sending a blast toward the blade of his sword sending it backwards as if his reach was being denied entry.

Blood lunged his spear toward Jakub but he dodged it avoiding being hit in any vital areas. The spear still managed to cut through his clothes and leave a gash in his stomach. Blood saw the opportunity to use his ability to attempt to drain Jakub's blood. Jakub noticed his blood flowing out toward Blood and he reached his left hand toward the flow. It drained the mana from the air in between the two of them granting Jakub his ability temporarily.

Both Jakub's group and Witch stood back watching the two of them fight. Jakub continued trying to strike him with the swords with no success. The fight continued on just swinging and dodging back and forth. Until one step not noticing the blood that had been dripping on the floor from his spear the entire fight, Jakub stepped, slipped, and caught himself too late. The blood turned to spikes manipulated by Blood himself, stabbed through the calves of Jakub pinning him down. Blood walked toward Jakub laying on the floor raised his spear and then BANG! Ears began ringing from the gunshot fired by Nicole who found her fathers pistol in his room. Erupt deflected the bullet toward the ground and Blood turned toward her. Taking his eyes off Jakub he pulled his legs from the spikes and swung his blade slashing through Blood's stomach.

Dropping to his knees Jakub stood over him and drained enough mana to force Blood's Grim away. Jakub held both of his swords in hand and stabbed each one through Blood's thighs piercing his calves behind them.

"Finish him Nicole." Jakub said battered and bruised.

Nicole walked toward blood whose head was hanging and had two swords through his legs. She pointed the pistol toward his head and hesitated. In that slight hesitation it gave Witch the opportunity to switch to her thunder abilities and burst everyone, including an unexpecting Elena backwards. The burst gave her enough time to remove the swords and flee the Hollow Zone.

"No no no no!" Jakub shouted.

"We finally had him and we took our eyes off his one partner here!" Jakub dropped to his knees.

Nicole dropped beside him and began healing him. "I'm so sorry it's my fault… you did everything for me to be able to avenge my father and I hesitated."

"You did… you let him escape." Elena spoke truthfully.

"I'm sorry." Nicole replied

"You will not hesitate next time." Elena stated. "You deserve your revenge but you will not hesitate again. Do you hear me?"

"Yes ma'am, I'm sorry."

Emily ran over to Jakub. "Are you okay?" She asked as she rubbed her hands on his face.

He looked up and smiled. "Yeah I'm okay."

"Heal him quickly, we do not have time to waste. We are going after them." Elena said sternly.
