A Sudden Discovery

-----Yui's POV

Not long after we finish dinner, we thank Luna once again before making our way back to our room.

As Kaede closed the door behind us, the sound of the door shutting is like the signal for me to go as I assault Kaede with a kiss, pushing her back against the door. I couldn't concentrate much on dinner after having been told to wait like that as all I wanted right now was to continue.

Kaede: "W-wait a minute, Yui-"

Since she broke me away from the kiss, I immediately go for her neck instead, licking in the same place where she sucks my blood as my tongue glides over her soft, smooth skin, cutting her off from whatever she was about to say.

Yui: "It's after dinner now though right?"

Kaede: "I know, but- someone, might hear us in the hallway."

Yui: "Then just be sure to keep quiet~"

I continue my assault on her neck as I keep her hands pinned to her sides against the door with my own. I playfully bite her neck like she's been doing to me, but not enough force to draw blood as she tries her best to hold her voice back, however a sharp squeak manages to slip out as I nibble her neck. Her body begins to tremble against mine as it only tells me to continue as I sandwich her body between me and the door, with more sounds escaping from her mouth.

Yui: "Hey, you have to keep it down remem-"

I stop for just a moment to warn her, but it seemed to have only given her an opportunity to retaliate as she breaks free from my hands before bringing me into another kiss. With my hands having nowhere to go, I wrap them around her as we slowly move away from the door, enjoying the kiss to the fullest as my body only grows hotter with every passing moment.

We somehow manage to find our way to one of the beds as we fall onto it, still clinging to each other as our kiss shows no signs of stopping. I couldn't tell if it was Kaede's heart or my own that was beating this fast as our bodies glued together as we explore each other's body in our embrace.

-----Kaede's POV

Waking up, I'm greeted by Yui's sleeping face once again as it immediately puts a smile on my face as I stare away at her. We were still completely naked under the bedsheets as I pull them back over her shoulders. "I still can't believe that Yui's actually here with me again". I end up closing my eyes briefly to thank whatever god brought both of us here.

?: "You're very much welcome."

Eh? I open my eyes to the sudden voice before looking around the room only to see just Yui, still sleeping away in the covers. It did sound like a woman, but recalling her words again, it definitely didn't sound like Yui at all.

Yui: "Mmm? Something up?"

Kaede: "Ah- Sorry, did I wake you?"

Yui: "Mmm, but it's okay. The sun's out so I suppose we should get ready soon anyways."

A drowsy Yui sat up slowly in the bed as she starts to wipe at her eyes. Who was that anyways? I remember Oboris having the ability to enter my mind and talk with me, but this was someone else. The idea of someone watching over me again was a bit creepy, but at least the sound of their voice came across as, sweet? It almost reminds me of Yui's mom back home in a way.

After getting ourselves ready and dressed in our uniforms, both Yui and I head to Luna's room since we'd all be heading to the auditorium Otho told us at the end of class yesterday. I'm still nervous as I already know what it is they're going to be talking about, but I'll try and remain calm.

Walking inside we were greeted with Luna already dressed as we met face to face as she opened the door before we could even knock.

Yui: "Ah- You're up! I thought you'd be sleeping in again haha."

Luna: "Well we do have that announcement, so I did want to make sure I got plenty of rest."

Closing the door behind her, we make our way downstairs along with other students amongst us as we head out towards the school's auditorium. Looking around it does seem to involve everyone as all the students slowly funneled inside. I made sure to stay close to Yui to avoid getting separated by the horde of students until finally we take our seats.

All the students inside were gossiping with each other as we wait for the rest of the students to arrive. My hands end up trembling on my lap as I sit there, waiting to hear the news about the murder I was involved in when suddenly, Yui put her hand on top of mine.

Yui: "Hey, everything's going to be fine."

Kaede: "M-Mmm."

Her smile as she whispered to me did give me some relief, but I can't stop worrying yet until I've heard the news.

After what felt like an eternity in my mind, all the students had finally arrived as up on stage, I could see Headmaster Lucien I met when I first arrived here.

Lucien: "Good morning students! You may of already been briefed on what it is I'll be talking about, but it does involve the recent murder in our city. Normally things like this wouldn't cause for us to gather like this, but after being informed by the investigation team, I believe it's only right for everyone to know."

I couldn't help but squeeze down on Yui's hand as Lucien began to talk, fearing for the worst.

Lucien: "We have not found the culprit who had murdered Baron Aston-"

Hearing those words made my body feel incredibly light, as if there was a dozen cinderblocks on my chest that had just suddenly fallen off.

Lucien: -However, what the team DID find is something rather disturbing. Everyone! Vampires have returned."

Suddenly, it felt like those imaginary cinderblocks that broken off of me just wrapped around me instead, crushing my chest at the sudden declaration from Lucien. How? How did they figure that out? My eyes dart around as every student was talking amongst themselves once more, a lot of their faces clearly in despair as the auditorium erupted chatter.

Lucien: "Silence! I know this is scary. Even I was frightened when I was first told this. Vampires to our knowledge were either eradicated or had shut themselves out in isolation. But the investigation team did find that the blood in Aston's mansion was filled with mana which left a clear discovery; that vampires are truly back. We don't know why they had suddenly decided to invade us like this, but the academy will do everything we can to keep you all safe."

Yui: "O-ow."

Kaede: "Ah- Sorry."

I hadn't realized how hard I had been squeezing Yui's hand until she softly whispered that she was in pain. I quickly loosen my grasp as I look towards her. I told her about my secret, and my involvement with the murder, so seeing her face in a panicked state like this made sense. I just hope that they don't find out about me.

Lucien: "With that being said, until we have further information regarding this vampire incident, I'll be moving the curfew from 10pm to 7pm, just after nightfall. Until we are sure that the vampire, or vampires aren't a threat and have either ran off or are killed, the curfew will remain like this. Thank you."

I never knew that people could detect mana in the blood I used. Hell, I never even used it to kill anyone, it was only to give everyone an exit. My mind fills with more and more regret as I try to think of what I could've done better. Maybe I could've punched a hole through the wall instead... Or maybe-

Yui: "It's okay-"

It was Yui who was now squeezing down into my hand as our fingers intertwine with each other, with my hands still trembling from all this news. But the warmth of Yui's hand was doing something as I felt my heart rate calm down if only a little.

Kaede: "M-hmm."

I'm truly thankful that Yui was the only one I told about that incident. I fear what might of happened if Luna had also found out. I knew something was going on between them so I can't help but wonder if she did find out about me, she would 100% report me to the authorities, forcing me to run away. There's absolutely no way I can tell anyone about this...
