CHAPTER 35- SEARCHING FOR TRUTH I

Adriana walked into her room. She took off her cloak and threw it on the bed. Gaius was sitting on the chair by her dresser table. He'd been looking for her all day. He even got more frustrated and angry when he'd gone to collect Bren's head to present before the governor that evening.

To his horror, he'd found Abdul and his men. All dead. Bren simply just refused to die!

"Where have you been Adriana?" He asked. Adriana jumped. He'd startled her! She didn't realize there was someone else in her room , but she didn't want to arouse suspicion by acting all nervous.

"what are you doing here?! And Since when do I have to report my movements to you Gaius?"

"Since the day your father entrusted me with the task of being your bodyguard!" He replied trying to tap down on the rage building up inside of him. Gaius put his hands on Adriana's shoulders.

"Do you know how risky it is for you out there with that dangerous murderer still roaming around?" He said between clenched teeth.
