"Ughh!"
I awoke to find myself in a dingy jail cell, surrounded by bars. Disorientated and in pain, I tried to stand up, but aches and cramps took hold, causing me to fall.
"Fuck!" I cursed.
As I looked around the room, I realized that I was not in my own body and must have experienced transmigration. The atmosphere was horrible, and I concluded that I was in a jail cell. I didn't have any breathing problems, which meant that I wasn't dead, but my soul had been transported to another body for someone's entertainment. I could only assume that I had been sent on a mission and that my memories had been erased. I couldn't believe I was in this situation, stuck in a jail cell.
"Keep it down, black. Your betters are trying to sleep," a voice jeered.
"Hahaha," others laughed.
Despite the pain, I crawled forward to peer through the bars and saw that my fellow prisoners were laughing at my predicament. The jeers led me to guess who I was - Sirius Black. The realization was accompanied by a sharp pain in my head, and I felt like my nerves were on fire. As memories flooded my mind, I struggled to maintain my identity and not become an amalgamation of Sirius Black.
"Huff huff huff," I breathed deeply, trying to calm myself.
As I meditated, I slowly began to experience the memories of the late Sirius Black. A childhood filled with training and torture by his mother, Walburga Black. Spells, fights, a bond with his brother, and a defiance of his parents by going to Hogwarts and being sorted into Gryffindor. Love, friendship, and becoming an animagus. Running away to live with James' family, fighting against a dark lord, being named a godfather, and ultimately being betrayed and ending up in jail.
These memories brought with them a flood of emotions, mainly disappointment and sadness. I was disappointed in myself for betraying my mercenary group and putting my own needs first. As I reflected on my previous life, I felt ashamed of my actions.
"Focus," I told myself.
The thing that stood out most was that Harry Potter was a girl and Lily was still alive, but in a coma-like state. My first course of action was to escape, and I planned to do so by using my animagus form, just as Sirius had done.
