Chapter 33: Everyone Here is a Victim
I felt like I was in a black hole, swirling away with no purpose. My heart was beating so fast that I almost heard drums in my ears. I just wished that it wasn’t real.
There really was a beast inside him. I was facing it for the first time.
"I will end him."
There was no doubt now. He would.
I looked at him. I didn’t know how I looked. But I hoped that my eyes didn’t give me away.
"Aiden…" I tried to talk.
"Nothing and no one," he said as he held my hand. "Can come between us." His eyes were getting deeper and deeper.
"I don’t want you to hurt anyone," my voice shaked.
He smiled and put his warm hand on my cheek. Clearly, my innocence and fear amused him.
"My baby," he kissed my lips shortly and put his forehead against mine. "I would do anything for you. I would kill for you."
I closed my eyes and a tear fell down. Was this my Aiden? My deep but sweet lover?
