Irid's Dilemma

IRID

No, this is not the time to be in pain. I have work to do. While machete man is still down, I take the opportunity to get up, deactivating my dara. The second I'm on my feet, I reactivate my dara again, this time in the small space between machete man and knife woman. The two ends of the dara pierce through both of them. Good.

It's by now that I realize that I've been too pre-occupied with a small fraction of the enemy that I let the majority of them past.

It's too late. When I look, trouble is already brewing.

For the nth time this day, shit!

Two of the enemies have managed to slip past me and to the gathered crowd of civilians, brandishing their guns. The civilians scream out in terror, doing their best to stay out of the enemies' reach.

The two fire their guns in the air, causing the civilians to scream out in fear some more, all cowering.
