A Grand Touch Of Nihilism

You know, when I took a nap I never expected for a multiversal A-hole to basically tell me that my world - the template world - was destroyed because another A-hole thought killing everything was fun like a dumbass. Oh, and the first A-hole told me a game/anime/anime series I knew little of was the world it was set in because apparently prophecies leak onto different worlds. Why is this my problem? I don't know, tell the first A-hole. In very simple terms, I got yeeted into Fate Grand Order to save everything in existence when I honestly couldn't care less... So yeah, this is the story of me (nihilistic twat) making reasons to motivate myself to save the world via time-travelling. End my suffering... (Disclaimer: All original works belong did their rightful owners) NOTE: My attempt on a SI that wouldn't leave my mind.

Chapter 1

???/???/Morning

"So... you're sending me off to another world – Fate Grand Order particularly – because of the fact our worlds are somehow connected and my world kind of temporarily died." An averaged spectacled youth confirmed.

"Yep." An old vampire nodded.

"And I somehow survived because I'm the incarnation of the concept 'Average', not 'Average One' – because from what little I know from the Nasuverse that's supposed to be special – but 'Average' which is basically mastery in everything and nothing. A Jack of all trades, which is highly common from people of my world." He was still in his black suit with his black back strapped over his shoulder being placed underneath his rear.

"Yep." The bearded old man nodded.

"But I survived in particular because in your own words, I was 'too lazy to die' which doesn't make any sense whatsoever." His medium-hair and eyes were black.

"It kind of does." His red eyes were practically grinning.

"How is FGO a thing in my world?" He asked the old vampire.

"Oh, you know... Prophecies without realising they are prophecies." The old man shrugged.

"Right; makes sense." I nodded because it didn't sound too unreasonable, however something did "But what doesn't is that someone socially incapable like me whom has incredibly dulled emotions thanks to probable Alexithymia – thank you internet – and didn't even get past the 2nd singularity will have to help save a world in which I really don't care if it does die or not." Am I a Nihilist? Yep, I probably am.

"Look on the bright side, you just need to be there without actually having to do anything to save your world." The vampire tried to reason with the Nihilist. But what he said was obviously a lie.

"Oh yeah? And why does a random multiversal vampire care more about my world than I do?" I asked annoyed.

The shitty vampire sighed. "Your world is the base template of our multiverse, and without it we're pretty much all dead." He shrugged.

"Well everything ends eventually, why not embrace our last moments?" I really don't wanna put effort in anything.

"Oh for fucks sake, you're going whether you like it or not." The vampire gave up, and I saw no ability to push further.

Hence I sighed.

"Oh alright, do I at least get an ability to stay alive?" Because if I don't I'm fucking dead.

"No."

"Welp, I might as well kill myself to end my suffering and the multiverse's suffering too." Sayonara, peace out, bye bye! I'm bout to kill myself the second I get there.

"Wait!" A voice called out to me and...

"OH FUCK MY EYES!" A blue-glowing humanoid figure just appeared and practically blinded me. Annoying thot.

"I heard that." The neutral voice called out to me.

"Well I wouldn't expect this..." Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg murmured softly. What didn't he expect?

"Well, good for me I don't care." I responded as she ignored by rebuttal.

"An ability? I'll give you an ability." It asked somewhat nervous.

"And why would you?" I raised an eyebrow with my eyes still closed. Not even gonna bother to open them.

"I am the collective unconscious of mankind and my duty is to steer humanity from extinction." It stated plainly "Your survival is beneficial to me."

So it's a give and take? That I can agree with.

"What ability?" What's going to keep me alive?

"Social Links, like the one from that game series you like." She responded.

"Do I get abilities with the Links?" That was crucial.

"No clear abilities, but it'll give someone like you a peace of mind." It responded mechanically. "Although... there may be an... addition."

It's not wrong. I absolutely hate uncertainties, and I absolutely hate social interactions because of their uncertainties.

Pretty much why I prefer to antagonize everyone I meet first hand. Keeps them more predictable and certain.

And the 'addition'... I'll have to take my chances.

"Anything else?" I'll try to fish for some more.

"No." There was no room for argument behind that. Tch.

Zelretch interrupted "No point in looking for benefits from us, anything useful we can give would be refused by the system which would then require you to be killed by said system." He developed "Anything you develop yourself whilst there is yours to keep though. Well, except for a few exceptions."

I sighed.

"Okay fine, but at least send me to Chaldea a week before shit hits the fan. Any longer and I'll draw too much attention from that one demon in disguise, also give them a letter of recommendation from you." He pointed to Zelretch "For a background."

"About time..." The vampire smirked.

"Also, don't use my name but blatantly state that it's an alias of 'Noble HP. Four'; I don't know if there's anything like a death note there so I'll have to be cautious." I – Noble HP. Four – demanded, it was non-negotiable.

"A blatant fake name so they know that you're there for a reason, and with my status they'll think you're there to decide whether a big name like me would support them?" Zelretch confirmed to which I nodded. "Not bad."

It'll obviously draw suspicion as well, though...

"Also a few more things. I want you to open my magic circuits, tell them I'm an investor and give me some books about Magecraft." Those were the last things I could think off the top of my head.

Let's hope that's enough.

"Alrighty! Off you go!" The old man yeeted me out of there.

Chaldea/Inside/Morning/7 Days Left

"–Base sequence: human genome confirmed."

"–Alignment: True-Neutral."

"Welcome to the data centre for the future of humankind... this is--" And skip.

'I'm not really bothered for an entire monologue of what Chaldea is, when I have the general gist.'

"Fingerprint, voiceprint and DNA authentication cleared."

Oh, I facepalmed "It wasn't skippable."

"Magical Circuit assessment complete." I feel so violated.

"Username matched." I swear if Zelretch put my real name...

"You are recognised as a member of the primates." Fancy way of saying I'm human – I think – but okay.

"Nice to meet you. You're our final visitor today." Is this an AI or an automated message? "We hope you enjoy your time here."

"I can assure you, I won't." I murmured as I entered 'Only a masochist would.'

When the door open I came face-to-face to an... exhausted pink haired girl. She wore all black – black shoes, skirt, leggings, shirt – but wore a white jumper and a red tie. Also odd to note, she had a white collar.

"Um, are you Mister Four?" She asked for confirmation to which I nodded.

"I've been tasked to lead you to your room, there's a map inside your room that'll help you with the designations of certain facilities. Other than that you will be allowed to observe any area that isn't of higher personnel requirement." She informed to which I nodded.

"Thanks." What? I may be nihilistically spiteful but I still have manners. When I bother to actually care.

The walk there was quiet as the fellow spectacled girl led me to my room and entered when I entered.

"Hmm?" I raised an eyebrow, why did she enter my room?

"Oh, sorry." She bowed in apology as she entered along with me.

"Why did you enter along with me?" I asked as she apologised.

"I was under the impression I would have to show you your personal facilities." She responded to which I shook my head.

"Don't worry about it." It's a pain in the ass to hold a grudge against something so meaningless.

Actually there's been something on my mind for quite a while. "Hey... err... you, are you overworked?"

She tilted her head at my question "No, I do not believe so." She was pale as fuck though, so maybe she doesn't realise it.

"Hmm..." I need an ally here before shit hits the fan "I'll rarely use this room, so you can use this room to slack off or do what you see fit."

She nodded as she exited the room.

'I was definitely awkward.' I shifted my gaze to a nearby mirror. Black medium length hair and eyes along with slightly curved spectacles in a black suit with a long-sleeved collard shirt – although the collar was hidden underneath my black scarf – and also a tie which was striped grey and black. I ignored my bag which was strapped over my shoulder for the time being.

I sighed.

"I'm so fucked." I murmured as I walked around the room and found a few cameras. I spent an entire hour getting rid of possible monitoring devices. Magical monitoring devices are an unknown factor.

Now that I was done, I went to a nearby desk and plopped a bag on top of it and took out some books.

Magecraft. I'll have to learn some. I already know I have 50 above-average magic circuits.

Chaldea/My Room/Morning/7 Days Left

Magecraft, or Thaumaturgy, is the artificial re-enactment of Mystery. It's the ability to bring about what is possible through science using supernatural means. The process is considered a miracle but the result is not.

"The only flaw is probably that modern science catching up and the concept of the Mystery on it vanishing, so more magic users is a probably a problem." I skimmed and scanned a few pages. I need ability not theory. "Thaumaturgy draws upon a predetermined power from the Root."

I flipped a few more pages "If it is said that subject of a mystery "exists" then the World permits it's existence however definite affirmation is not required." Still more theory, but useful.

Then I found the juicy stuff.

Thaumaturgy at its core is equivalent exchange which could be both good and bad depending on how it's used. Magecraft is basically using magical energy to produce stuff that exists or can exist, even stuff made of images although they will vanish soon after since the World doesn't like it.

"Illusions would be useful."

Magecraft uses magic circuits to convert life energy(Od) to magical energy(Prana) inside the body to transform the world. Each magic school works on a pre-built program. The program is a set of universal rules that interfere with nature and is enforced by magical energy. Greater interference requires greater energy. Standard stuff.

I then proceeded to skim and scan for more useful stuff.

On the elements and origin section there was a note from Zelretch.

'You have affinity for nothing and everything.' A jack-Of-All-Trades it seems I am.

Also handy to note is that everyone has the ability to resist spells which aim to control them with circulation of magic circuits. It's possible to disrupt a spell before it can complete itself.

'That'll come in handy.'

Zelretch already activated mine, my mental trigger is ripping off a mask. Yes I referenced it on persona, stfu.

I flipped a page which was about Breathing and Walking. Zelretch already ingrained in my mind about a magical energy and circuit refinement form of this so I didn't really care.

"Finally!" I smiled, now it's time for some spells.

'Thought Acceleration and Memory Partition.' I read their requirements and found that it was fairly simple, I do it on a daily basis anyway. Although my mental non-magical version comes from myself without any assistance for Magical Circuits (MC) because essentially it's just having multiple thought processes for one goal. They do different processes to achieve said goal but they work together for a goal.

A normal human's memory partition is usually worth 64 processes.

An image of ripping off a mask glared in my mind.

"Oh fuck." That feels weird, it feels like I have two consciousnesses inside my mind. I should have around 128 partitions now.

Thought Acceleration, is just forcing my two 'rooms' to work harder and it was fairly simple when I tried it. It feels like time is stopping when using it though.

MEMORY PARTITON 1/3 MASTERY

THOUGHT ACCELERATION 1/4 MASTERY

Hmm... I'm quite tired now so I'll just note down useful spells in the future.

I took my phone out and entered the password to then go on a notepad app and wrote down a few things 'Shared Perception, Transference of Consciousness, Reinforcement, Bounded Fields, Alteration, Gradation Air, Structural Analysis, Ansuz, Ath nGabla(probably a last resort), Berkano could be useful, Ehwaz, Gandr(A note left from Zelretch delved on a variation called "Freischutz"), Kano, Kenaz and the basic Flash Air spell.

I also kinda wanna learn some of that traditional 'paper-throwing'magic that you see all the time in anime...

"Phew." I leaned back in my chair.

"I studied more than I did in my exams."

Chaldea/Inside/Evening/7 Days Left

Good to note no one really cared about me since they had their own problems. I waited in line in the dining hall, ate some food and left. Simple.

It was disgustingly bland... did they cut down on the food budget? Probably.

I then proceeded to go to a library. I took a book labelled "Heroic Spirits and what you need to know" which basically told me that there are 7 main classes with a ton of other minor classes and that they have something called a Noble Phantasm which is a crystallized myth given form and that sometimes counter guardians may be summoned. Simple stuff. It seems there's also a class advantage as well as three different ways to command a Servant to fight. Quick, Buster and Arts. Which was self explanatory except for Arts which basically gave more energy for Noble Phantasms because apparently damage dealt to enemies somehow restore the Servants Mana capacity.

"Simple stuff." I muttered as I put the book away only for it to be taken away a moment later by a spectacled girl of purple hair and eyes. Kinda looked like a scholar student with the only difference being her incredibly short skirt.

We briefly glanced to each other. I shrugged, she smiled. And we both parted ways.

[THE HIGH PRIESTESS 2-II]: SION ELTNAM SOKARIS RANK 0 GAINED

How? She just smiled at me. You know what? Nevermind.

After that I went to my room to take a nap.
