The animal that Alissa had found to possess was a bear. Coincidentally, it was the same bear that had killed the husband of Elena. Nonetheless, that didn't matter to Alissa, because Elena's life was nothing to her. Especially after Elena had gained resistance against her possession. From that day on, Alissa no longer planned to associate herself with Elena, since she's basically useless and a nobody to both her and Mark.
It didn't take too long for Alissa to return to the vile woman's grave with the bear's body. Approximately, it took nearly thirty minutes for Alissa to return, obvious from the fact that sun was just an inch close from passing through the horizon.
Dusk broke free when the evil woman was finally set free. It was nighttime. The right time for chaos to erupt, and the time when the woman is apparently much stronger than in the afternoon...
After the woman had been freed from the sharp pieces of wood that held her down, the bullets inside her slowly popped out of her body. Thirty minutes later or so, she was back to her prime state. In fact, she was even stronger than before, when it hadn't been long since she awakened. With her now being fully awake, and with the lack of sunlight too, it will be impossible for Artemis to stop her again. Obviously, this time, the woman would not try to control Artemis's mind, which means that she has an even greater chance to successfully fulfill her goals...
"But that's for later… As of now, let's fulfill this wish of yours." The woman spoke, after she had loudly rejoiced her freedom and opportunity for success.
"Do you swear to give me your soul by serving me, the god of vampires and the queen of draculas, little one?" The woman proceeded with her request for Alissa's oath, right after she had her fill of her own words.
"Wait, what? We're doing this now? Aren't you going to fulfill my wish first?"
The demand of the woman was too sudden for Alissa to react to, which left Alissa quite surprised and full of questions.
"Didn't I tell you already? I do not have the power right now. I need at least one follower." Was the woman's reply to Alissa's load of questions.
"F-Fine… I swear to give my soul to you in order to serve you, oh great god of vampires, queen of draculas." Alissa offered her soul, although with a bit of hesitation.
After Alissa had sworn allegiance to the woman, the woman let out a breath of relieve and excitement, in a similar way to a person that had caught a nice sniff of warm bread in front of a bakery. Not too long after her dangerous look of excitement, she suddenly disappeared. She was really gone, apparent by the fact that Alissa wasn't able to find her anywhere within her proximity.
With the woman gone, Alissa could only wait and wonder if she'd really stay true to her words after disappearing so suddenly…
Meanwhile, after Alissa had sworn her part of the oath, Artemis could feel her instincts yelling at her that something awry had happened. Her instincts which pointed her towards the direction of the burial pit. It made her realize what the awry feeling was within her heart, and made her desperate as a result.
'There's no way… How could she have gotten out so fast? It hasn't even been more than an hour, and I'm this close to the town already… Should I see what's going on, or should I help Mark with assisting the people out of the town?'
"Damn it."
In the end, Artemis couldn't help herself from running back towards the place of burial. She had to go back to see if her instincts were correct, and she had to go back to stop the vile woman from going around and causing chaos. She was the only one nearby who is capable of going against the woman with supernatural abilities.
'But what if she's already gone? Didn't she say she would be heading towards the town? No! She must be covering still. If I wait for her, she'll cause panic. I have to stop her in a place that is far away from others…' Artemis eventually concluded.
After such a conclusion, she never looked back to the direction of the town, and continued to sprint her way towards the place of burial instead.
*Ha…* *Ha…* "It's too far…" "I'm not going to make it in time…"
After a while of running, Artemis felt too exhausted to continue with the same pace.
Knowing that she was too exhausted, she knew that all of her effort would come to a waste if she continues to go on with the same pace.
'It's my duty to protect the innocent from the supernatural. I know that I didn't succeed in that test, but I'm the only one that is near powerful enough to fight the supernatural. This… This is for all the crimes I did. I'm going to reset my karma…'
While saying those words of hers inside her mind, she kept staring at her backpack.
Carrying a backpack while running isn't the best idea, however she had to, because there is an item within which she needs to have with her at all times. Such an item is the disturbance that made her jog slightly difficult, however compared to how important the item is, slightly difficult is nothing but a breeze that she is supposed to ignore...
'Should I…?' Artemis had a look of hesitation, as she stared at the item that lay within her backpack.
