Just Hanging Out

Once school ended I packed up all my books and things and started to head outside, but I waited for Kylie to come out since I'll be going to treat her to a nearby cafe that just opened up.

I guess it had been awhile since I last treated her to a meal before. I also wanna check out this new game everyone seems to be talking about in school. Every corner and room that I go into it's always about that game.

What's the name of it again? Ah, I think it's called 'Ruined Society'? It's an odd name if I think about it... but who am I to judge? It's not my game or anything.

"Huh? You actually waited?".

I turned to see Kylie with a surprised look on her face. I waved at her before smiling.

"Who are you and what did you do to Luna?".

"Haha, why? Just because I don't always act like this doesn't mean I can't be nice for once".

"Haha. You know, you really don't have to put up with me if you don't want".

"..."

My brother was right. Sooner or later she'll get bored of my attitude and move onto a different person who truly appreciates her companionship. I guess I really am a lousy friend...

"Nonsense. Let's wait for the others and head to the new crepe shop just down the corner. After that we really need to check out the new game! It's sounds like a really decent game!".

It might sound like I'm faking my personality just for her, but I really have been keeping it inside. That's why I should finally try and get along with her while I still can.

"I really feel like your pretending.."

Do I really show an expressionless or careless look on my face most of the time? Now I realize what my brother meant...

"I'm not really! I just feel happy today is all... Anyways let's go look for Elijah and Aurora. It's been awhile since we last hang out with those two".

"Sure. If you want then we could ask those two".

"Kind of feels like a double date. Haha".

"Pft- Why would it be a double date when there's only one guy in the group?".

"Why? just because there's one guy and three girls doesn't mean those two other girls aren't going out". I said with a smirk.

She flushed red before covering her face in embarrassment. It was enjoying watching my best friend turn into a tomato after all these years. It was a sight to see in my perspective.

"Anyways, we need to go or else Aurora and Elijah might leave the school building before we even at the chance to ask them".

"Ah, yeah yeah".

Me and Kylie both rushed inside one the classrooms that was located near the lockers. Once we got there I saw a few students still roaming around the room talking. That's when I finally saw a glimpse of Elijah, Aurora and someone I wished wasn't there.

"Huh?".

I turned my attention to the girl who was seating across the room, surrounded by boys and girls. She was popular inside of this room, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see her being surrounded by many students. She had a long, black silky hair and was probably 5'3. She also had fair skin and was quite beautiful if I had to admit.

"Ah, Hey! Luna!". I hear her call out to me as she waved her hand.

Ugh, it had to be her of all people... Veronica.

The most popular girl in school would try to get my attention as much as possible. She even tried to send her goons after me to get me to talk, but it was a pointless move for her. Just because she's popular doesn't mean I'd be one of her pawns.

I ignored her and waved at the two people. I can sense the other student's gaze on me as I smiled and called out to my two other friends. They might be shock to see Luna, the top 9 student who remained quiet and cold was now smiling in their sights.

I can also hear low gasp from Veronica herself. I was in a good mood indeed.

"Your causing attention". Kylie whispered.

"I don't care. I'm being impatient to wait for those two lovebirds".

"You really are showing more emotions than before".

"I'm feeling good today if I say so myself".

I heard stomping noises and saw the two people walking towards me. At first I was scared seeing those two, thinking I might get scold at or probably a punch from one of them.

I braced myself before Elijah patted my head. I opened one of my eyes and saw Elijah and Aurora's smiling faces. I stared at them before smiling back.

"If only you smile more. You look pretty cute if you smile".

"Your one to talk to. You'll look pretty attractive if you frown more". I said, sarcastically.

"I don't wanna grow wrinkles too early if I frown". He said as he rustles my hair.

"So, you guys going to check the new game everyone's been so obsessed about?". He asked.

"Yeah". Kylie responded as I continued to fix my now unruly hair.

"Geez... I just combed my hair". I mumbled before looking up at the shock faces of the students.

I shifted my eyes over to Veronica with wide eyes. It was my first time seeing her with a shocked look on her face which satisfied me.

"Come on. You already had your fun". Aurora said from behind.

"Okay. Oh, by the way have you two also heard about that new game that just got released?".

"Duh, everyone in school is talking about it!". She said.

"Why? Are you guys going to buy that game?". Elijah asked.

"I wanna see it before buying it. Who knows if it's really a good game or a piece of junk". I said.

"Why would it be a piece of junk if everyone in the entire district is talking about it?". Kylie asked.

"Well... what happens if the game has a ton of bugs? What happens if the game has terrible graphics? Lag? Crashes?".

I had a ton more reasons why it might turn out to be a lousy game, but it would take too long to list everything.

"Relax. It might be a good game. Plus, I heard it we can test it out before buying the game". She informed me.

"Is it a CD game? or...?" Now that I think about it. I never heard or knew what type of game it was. Was it CD, PC, virtual reality or mobile? It would be great if it can be downloaded in pc, since I prefer playing on keyboard and mouse.

"Hm... I think I heard someone saying that after buying the game you'll receive a head gear with an additional arm gear". Kylie explained.

"Wow... that sounds expensive..."

I don't even think I have that kind of money to buy such a game... if I told Mom and Dad I'm sure they'll give me a 2 hour long lecture for being too addicted to games that they might end up banning video games for the rest of my life...

"I don't want that..." I mumbled in a sad tone.

"What?".

"It's nothing".

We began to head outside and go over to the newly opened crepe shop. Elijah and Aurora didn't bother asking my sudden change of mood and just decided to accept our invitation.

It's sad knowing Gary and Ava are in suspension due to the fact that those two brutally beat up 3 students from the other class because of Veronica's manipulating attitude. I witness that fight in person and somehow felt entertained watching 3 goons of Veronica beated to a pulp.

Of course both Gary and Ava were both feeling guilty just beating up their classmates that both of them reported themselves to the principal. It was all part of Veronica's plan, that is why I come to hate her, but that wasn't all that she's done.

She has done already done far more cruel things than that, but remembering all of them would only lead me to a headache.

"How long did the principal say their suspension was again?". I asked them.

"2 more days left I think". Elijah responded.

If only they didn't get suspended, then all 6 of us could check the new game together as a friend group. We could also go at the arcades and movies since it has been ages since all of us hang out all together.

We walked for a few minutes before reaching the new crepe shop called 'Mr. Creamy Shop' which I find cute and adorable. They sold pastries, breads, cakes and even ice cream. There was also cold coffee and iced tea in the menu. I think this was targeted by young school girls, but even now and then high school guys would also come by here and eat.

Once we went inside of the shop I noticed a few school girls looking at us as if we did something wrong. Most of the customers of this shop was filled with teens either male or female.

"Did we do something?". Kylie asked.

I shrugged it off and walked over to the counter. I looked up to read the menu, but one of the cashier who was working in the counter greeted me and asked.

"Hi! Welcome to Mr. Creamy Shop. May I ask who will we be serving today?".

"Ah, 3 highschool girls and 1 highscool boy. And I'd like to order 4 ice teas and a large chocolate cake".

"Alright. Please wait while we take your order".

I thanked the lady before looking behind me to see the others were already sitting across the restaurant.

I sat with them and saw how flustered Elijah's face while Aurora and Kylie were holding their laughter.

"What's so funny?". I asked.

"Hehe... turns out the reason people kept staring at us... was because..t-they thought Elijah was either g-gay... or dating three girls at a time.." Kylie responded trying her best to keep calm.

"Ahhh! Shut up!". Elijah shouted as he covered his face.

I burst out laughing while the other two girls followed along.

It had been so long since I laughed this much.
