Chapter 213: This is Not Overkill!

This is fun.

Correction, this is SO MUCH fun. Admittedly, fooling around back in the day was one of my hobbies. If I feel it, I would make someone a god in a snap and see how they react to it. Of course, the ones that I chose are those deemed worthy of it.

'I see why Zelretch did this once in a while.'

I mean, it can't be helped that my current skill set is enough to play around with my enemies and kill them in a second!

I'm not talking about my physical or conceptual attacks, but the new authority that I have: [Lord of the Mysteries]. From the information that I acquired, it is the authority of a Pillar, one of the top guns, in a certain universe. That world has the power system of the so-called "Beyonders", the mortals who consume a mystic object to ascend to a higher level.

Interestingly, their battles from the beginning placed more importance on "authorities" rather than mana, aura, physique, and the like. Starting from the lowest Beyonder Level, they would receive their abilities which is a watered-down version of authority. As they go into the upper ranks, their authority would become more complete until they ascend as a 'true god'.

As for [Lord of the Mysteries], it contained far-fetching abilities that "space-time control" seems like a kid to it. One such ability came from the [Error Pathway]. Simply put, it allows me to 'steal' nearly anything and 'expand' an error of 'something'.

'Oh, she has that flaw.' He thought. 'Out of your shell, I guess.'

Snap-!

Atop the Emcee's room, I watched the foreigner as her flesh started changing into its true form. The fair white skin that everyone would admire slowly turned into pieces of black goo. Dots of white light surrounded the goo, which is the "eyes" of it.

Such a boring sight. My mind is already numb to these sights, something that I blame on my plethora of memories about it. I yawned before a thought flashed inside my mind.

'Let's speed up time.'

Hum.

In my sight, the intangible time turned into something that can be freely manipulated. Making time for her faster, the foreigner fully turned into a puddle of goo in an instant. The poor guy... or girl did not even notice that his transformation was done. Her thoughts that I am continuously stealing passed through me, letting me know that she has a "backup plan" of sorts.

Using that as a breakthrough, I immediately began decrypting everything inside my mind.

'Authorities? No.'

'Vessels? It shouldn't be that Wait a minute.'

'An escape plan... I see.'

In a tiny fraction of a millisecond, I figured out everything. To that, I could only laugh at her futile attempts. After all, what was once caught in my hands would no longer have a chance of escaping. More so when she descended to harm the people I love.

'It begins.'

[Blind Stupidity].

The moment I used it on her, I could see her thoughts becoming extremely slow instantly. Most parts of it receded into her mind, prevented from being acted upon, forever. Up next is fooling fate itself. This is the tricky part, though everything else would be as easy as an apple pie after its completion.

'You don't have any fate of being killed right now, I see. Oh well, you shall have one today.'

Hum.

A vague change started to happen in her. Her fate was "rewritten", showing that she will die today. Although, the causes behind her death are not clear. After all, I am 'just' fooling the fate of an extraterrestrial god from another world. To cross the barriers between worlds, they have to be an <Ancient> at the very least.

Adding to that the information about the strong men in this world, their overall combat power can be easily imagined. At the very least, they should have more than three <Creators> at the helm. As for the possibility of a <Beyond Creator> existing, its probability can't be removed.

Meaning, this world should be fucked up if the chat group had not indirectly changed its trajectory.

'I already have a <Creator> soul... It's enough to withstand this.'

[Hell Flame Ignition].

[Armament Convergence].

[Boundless Wisdom].

[Augmentation].

[Lord of the Mysteries].

Pale white flames gathered all around the stadium, burning every unholy thing to dust. The familiar black light started to converge in the sword that I am holding, all the whilst imbuing the concept of [Certain Death] via my [Wisdom] authority.

[You have triggered a <Critical Strike> of 50x. Extract the energy required and proceed?]

Just like usual, I fooled time and sped up the gathering of <Origin Power> until it reached the required threshold. It is a pity that I only got to learn this authority now as I definitely would have cheated the [Grail] and gotten more of my stuff in the past.

Especially that treasury... even ten Gils are not enough to compare with the fraction of it.

[The intensity of your current attack was increased by fifty times.]

Click-!

Finally, it's done. By using one of [Error]'s authorities, I made it so that whatever happens in this clone of hers... gets inflicted on her true body too. If she dies here, she really dies. Just like how people die when they are killed.

'Wait, I should fire a sure one at this point.'

Looking at the ridiculous power gathered by me, I surmise that Nimi would give me an earful of being overkill if she is here. Of course, this is our normal bantering at this point considering that we had been doing this since our early days.

Manifesting the logbook from my [Reality Marble], I turned the pages on it before finding a few hundred pieces of knowledge regarding supernovas and cosmic explosions. Then, I "applied" it to this world's texture, forming an environment suitable for it. The [Hell Flames Ignition] was assimilated into it, strengthening it even more.

'Ah. It's too strong.'

Thinking about the city that I am in, I shifted our current positions into a different space. Only void existed in this place, making it an ideal burial ground for it. While the aftershocks might reach the stadium, they would not be destructive enough to destroy a city.

This, I am very sure of.

'Bang!'

BOOM-!

The supernova explosion instantly engulfed the empty void. My adorable white flames that hid in that concept exploded at the same time, adding an anti-evil attribute to it. My weapon intents vastly differ, but their target is the same. The tip of the spear, the edge of a blade, the blunt side of a hammer... All of them sought to eliminate—to kill—the single enemy that I have.

Shriek-!

A dying scream. That's how it sounded to me. This made me remember that even higher-level entities still have their instincts when it comes to death, as evident when the supposed-mindless foreigner felt 'fear' even without her thoughts registering it.

I stared at this scene with my [Six Eyes] activated. The previous "fake" self of that outer god who calls herself "Yidhra" turned into her "real" self at this moment. The mighty <Ancient> turned into nothing under this overpowered authority of mine. Even her precautionary measures such as her connection with those <Creators> are blocked thanks to the [Concealment]; the divine realm of [The Fool] that hinders the leakage of information and any other connection to the outside.

This scene might take a long time in the eyes of the weaker beings due to the immense information produced by it. But for me, however, it only took an instant before all that was left is the empty void. No traces of "Yidhra" can be seen whatsoever, obliterating her existence in the vast river of time—the future, to be exact.

Deactivating my authorities, I found myself back in the stadium. A 'clean' state was left thanks to the flames cleansing off the evil sight from before. Only the destruction caused by the previous attack and many cracks can be found in the end.

"Phew."

To be honest, this was a tiring battle. The power that I generated was too strong that my <Body> and <Mind> nearly gave up. My materialized soul is the one that held everything together. Thus, I was left with a 'normal' state in the end.

Still, the major reason why I succeeded in this fight is due to it, too. With my <Soul>, I can face an <Ancient> head-on. Even fighting a few against one is alright for the current me. Albeit, this changes once they are on guard for my attack. If they are not caught up in [Blind Stupidity], I would not be able to fully control the rhythm of the fight.

Fortunately for me, someone fought against me... with a CLONE out of all things. By using [Lord of the Mysteries], turning the substitute's negative statuses into the real body's, and fooling fate by giving out a certain death, it could kill an <Ancient>.

"Right, there's still that girl."

Remembering the vessel that Yidhra used to descend in Terra, I went into the long river of time once more and fished her out when she was about to die. Since her body is no longer here, I am saved from dealing with paradoxes.

"H-huh? What? What is..?"

"Hello miss, you're finally awake. Trying to cross the border of life, aren't you?"

*****

A/N: Writing this made my Amon trauma resurface. Those moments when Klein is walking in a totally normal street... only to be ambushed by a little girl who f*ck*ng wore a monocle the next second. Then the bystanders also wore one. If not for Klein's plot armor saving his ass, he's dead meat. I mean, who fights a Sequence 2 Marauder as a Sequence 4~5 Fool? (From what I recall) Then there are the two final fights: Klein's ascension ritual and the final showdown. My man, I am not joking when I said that my mind got blown to bits... literally. It's like I am reading it with [Blind Stupidity] active, to the point that I forgot the fact that Amon lived due to his clone after the supernova! Those final arcs are just 11D chess in my perception, all because of Amon's existence... Still, he's one hell of a memorable character. It's as if the author himself wrote Amon to be an unbeatable foe.

Anyways, here's a LoTM-related fact!

Fact #92: Did you know that by the end of LoTM, Cuttlefish (the author) filled up an entire bookshelf with Lovecraftian and ritualistic books? It is estimated to be a few dozen at least! Other than that, he said in an interview that the next protagonist for the Book 2 will be someone from the Hunter Pathway since there is no more suspense with the worldbuilding done. Of course, alongside the MC would be someone from the Demoness Pathway (The Sequence 9 Assassin if you recall). Though he has to stay vigilant as to whether it is a real girl or not, considering that the Demonesses are basically the "females in Internet" equivalent of LoTM. You never know if they are hiding something underneath their skirts...
