A DRIVE WITH CASSANDRA

Kevin

It's been three days and I could say for sure that Cassandra was avoiding me completely. I finally have a lead about Susan, but I don't know if she's going to answer the phone if I call her. She might start thinking about something else if she sees my phone call. I miss when all these complications weren't involved, she was just my friend, now I don't know anymore. I sat in the living room, staring at my phone unsure of what to do at the moment. Either call her or just figure it out myself. But she made me promise to always update her, and the lead I've got she really needs to know about it.

"You've been staring at that phone like forever," my mom said from behind me. She walked towards me and sat beside me on the sofa chair, looking at me.

"You didn't even know when I stepped into the living room," she said, concern written all over her face.
