Class Trip 2

Fifteen minutes later, the students gathered at the training fields.

When Leywin walked out to the field, some students pointed at him and whispered. While other students chuckled from time to time as they looked in his direction.

While other students had on nice and fancy equipment, Leywin wore the same overworn training outfit that he has always worn when training. Which is made up of gloves, a shirt with a lightweight chest plate over it, pants with a pouch attached to it, long boots, and a sword.

He looked like a beginner adventurer while the other students looked like professional adventurers.

The students know that because of Leywin's background, this is the best his family could afford. But they will use every opportunity they get to make fun of him.

Leywin ignored them and stood in front of the students.

"Alright, now that everyone is ready, let me introduce the two other professors that will help me supervise you guys on the trip." Professor Sam announced. "To my left is Professor Kim and to my right is Professor Jim."

Professor Kim was a beautiful woman with brown monolid eyes, long black hair that was tied into a bun, and an above-average figure. She looked like she was barely over the age of twenty-five. On the other hand, Professor Jim was a middle-aged man with cold blue eyes, short black hair, and a burly physique.

"There are both D rank warriors. Professor Kim is a Water Mage while Professor Jim is a Brawler with Wind ability." Professor Sam continued. "As you guys already know, I'm a D rank Fire Swordsman."

"Our class is not the only class going on this trip, we will be going with one other Professor Martha's class. We will meet up with them at the Safe House near the danger zone. Stay with your classmates, you will be safer if you fight together." Professor Sam advised.

(Safe houses are small places that have been cleared of monsters, where a team or a group temporarily set up their stuff. Think of it as a camping site.)

"Any questions?" Professor Sam asked.

Leywin raised his hand.

"Yes."

"Why are we going to an E rank danger zone instead of an F rank danger zone? Although some of us are strong enough to defeat an E rank monster, we still have no real battle experience." Leywin asked.

He felt there was something off about the sudden change in rank. He already prepared to fight the rats in the F rank danger zone. He studied their attack patterns and fighting style so he definitely was not a big fan of the sudden change.

"The higher-ups believe that the students are not developing fast enough, they want to put more pressure on you guys to get stronger." Professor Sam answered. "They said pressure creates diamonds."

Leywin could understand the thinking process of the higher-ups but that doesn't mean that he liked it. He could only hope everything turns out fine.

"Any more questions?"

"Okay great." Professor Sam smiled

"Get on the bus, we will leave immediately." Professor Jim ordered.

The students got on the bus and they drove off.

...

As the bus was taking them to the safe house, leywin, who was sitting by himself, looked out the window to observe the surroundings. This was Leywin's first time out of the city.

The city was quite big, it was about the same as a state in the United States two thousand years ago. The city however was surrounded by a giant wall. The wall was made by multiple S-rank earth and metal Mages and was later enhanced by Enhancers every hundred years for the past two thousand years. Most cities have the same setup and it was how humanity has survived so far.

After a two-hour ride, the bus eventually arrived at one of the entrances to the city.

Leywin and some of the other students were dumbfounded by the enormity that was the wall. The wall was the size of a skyscraper. From the perspective of someone in the city, the wall looks big, but a person can not understand its immense size unless they are in front of it.

After going through the security check, the bus left the city.

After a three-hour ride, the bus arrived at the safe house. The safe house was already occupied by Professor Martha's students and the backup warriors that will take over if the situation gets out of hand.

The students from the two classes eventually met up after everyone got out of the bus. The total number of students was about two hundred twenty, and there were six professors.

"Alright. Prepare yourselves. This will be the first experience with monsters for most of you, believe in your training and abilities." Professor Martha instructed. " We will be going into one of the caves of the Variant Imps, staying with the group will increase your chances of survival. Don't act carelessly!"

"Do you have anything you want to add?" Professor Martha asked the other professors.

It seemed that she was taking the lead on the trip which was not surprising given her status. She was a Rank C Ice Mage. Ice was one of the rare abilities that have been monopolized. Only people that are a part of the Ice clan are allowed to have Ice abilities.

The other professors shook their heads to signify they had nothing to add.

"Let's head out!" she bellowed.
