Soohyun came home, not in the best of moods. Sung Rok, the man he hates the most, visited his office and issued a full-on threat while the girl he admires so much just rejected him. The once thought out to be a good day turned out to be the most annoying day of the week, but who is he to blame. It is just one of those days as he slumps down on his couch with a huge sigh exhaling from his tired body. And without knowing it, Soohyun passed out as the comfortable confines of his couch engulfs him.
If it weren't for his phone ringing so loudly like a freight train, Soohyun would have gone through the night on his couch, undisturbed. He groaned and grumbled as he slowly brings his tired limbs back to life and sits up straight. After yawning the last of his slumber away, Soohyun finally fished out his phone from his pocket. His eyes squinted to see the brightly lit screen of his phone inside his pitch-black living room. But his attempt on doing so only made him scoff as soon as he recognized the caller ID. It was Hyosung. Soohyun rejected the call, the second he knew who it was. He had denied her phone call for the past few weeks since he found out about her ties to Ju Ji Hoon. And instead, he uses the phone's flashlight to find the light switch to the living room.
Soohyun puts up his hand to shield his eyes from the ceiling's glaring light after finally finding the switch. He stretched his limbs left to right before checking his watch. Woah! It's 9 pm already?! Soohyun could only chuckle after realizing how long he had slept. Despite the time, Soohyun decided to take a quick shower for refreshment before going out for the night. It won't hurt to enjoy a little time for myself; after the hospital, he chuckled to himself after coming out of the shower, ready to welcome the nightlife.
Soohyun wore a simple dark unbuttoned, rolled-up sleeve T-shirt to reveal the white shirt underneath. His lower half, he decided to use skinny black jeans that complement the top along with a pair of black colored shoes. He checked himself in front of the mirror, loving the look, and finally took off to his favorite club. Since it's the night time, he chooses to drive himself in his car.
As he arrived, the place is as crowded as usual. The entrance line is as long as ever, but there will be no problem going in first since he is a regular. Soohyun parked his car at the usual spot, right across the street along the same line of fancy cars that probably belonged to people his speed. And yet, one car caught his attention, and it's Gray's car. Soohyun couldn't be happier knowing his best friend is around to spend some time with him.
"Jung-Hoon," Soohyun greeted the big bouncer standing in front of the club's entrance with a pat on his back.
"Oh! Kim Soohyun-ssi," the big bouncer bowed and chuckled, "Coming alone tonight?"
"Yeah, I'm a lone wolf for now, but you know that won't stay for long," Soohyun lets out hearty laughter along with the bouncer, stating the usual thing that happens every time Soohyun would come over to the club.
"Well, enjoy yourself, sir," The bouncer lets Soohyun pass without a hassle as he holds the door open for the latter.
Once inside, Soohyun scanned for his best buddy, and it didn't take him long. Gray is leaning against the counter, but something is different this time. He is not alone. A girl with a ponytail is talking with him, and it looks like Gray is having a great time. Soohyun perked an eyebrow at the exchange since he never thought his best friend would be like that in a club. For all these years, knowing Gray, Soohyun never once saw Gray talking to a girl in a club. Soohyun raised and waved his hand towards his best friend, who noticed immediately, and a shock was all over his face before he replied with a wave of his own.
Soohyun frowned at the expression Gray just gave him, but it didn't stop there. Gray leaned to the girl's ear and whispered something as Soohyun started to walk over to him. The girl immediately moved away from Gray, but her face is facing another direction, so Soohyun couldn't see who she was or what she looked like under the club's colorful light show. Now, Soohyun is beside himself with curiosity. Now that is weird, Soohyun thought as he approaches the bar.
"Hey, man," Soohyun gave Gray a brotherly hug and a pat on the back, "So, are we gonna talk about that?"
"Talk about what?" Gray raised two fingers to the bartender, signaling for a new round of drinks for both him and Soohyun.
With both his eyes wide at Gray, Soohyun gestured to the direction the girl went, "Don't play coy with me, man, I know what I saw."
"Ah.." Gray states like he just noticed what Soohyun was talking about, "We will have that conversation in the future."
"Oh? He's a mysterious one now?" Soohyun teased with a nudge of his shoulder, "I didn't know you roll like that."
"I don't, bro," Gray downed his drink after his reply, "It's just she's not some random girl I met at this club, okay? We planned to meet here."
Soohyun almost choked on his drink upon hearing yet another surprise from his best friend, "Wait, so there is a chance I might know this girl?"
"Maybe?" Gray shrugged and didn't continue his sentence.
"Mr. Gray and the famous Kim Soohyun," Soohyun's attempt to press on the matter was interrupted when man slung both his arms over Soohyun's and Gray's shoulders, "What are the odds?"
Soohyun turned to see an old friend, "Haha... Namjoon?!"
"The one and only!" Namjoon leaned back with a bow.
"Yo, man, how you been?" Gray hugged the latter with a chuckle before Soohyun did the same.
"All good, bruh, just chilling," Namjoon leaned against the bar as he addressed both his old friends.
"When did you come here? You could have called," Soohyun stated in a low-key protest.
"Just yesterday, I got some things to take care of, and here I am," Namjoon answered, "So, why don't you just join me by the VIP lounge? Jungkook and Jimin are there too."
"Sweet! The band all back, huh?" Soohyun agreed in excitement since he got to meet some old school mates.
The trio joined their friends at the lounge and had a real good time to catch up. The group talked about old times, and all the other mischief they ever did back in high school. Soohyun couldn't imagine a better night than to spend with his old buddies. The night went very well as planned, and can't help but enjoyed it, and this time without a girl being his focus of the night.
"Soohyun, look," half an hour into the conversation, Gray nudged Soohyun to look at the club's entrance.
"What?" Soohyun couldn't finish his drink when he noticed the girl walking into the club, "JiU?"
Wow, the only thing that popped in Soohyun's mind as he watched JiU walking in. She wore a tight one-piece two-strap navy blue stiletto dress that complimented her curves. As she strides in, it almost seemed like Soohyun isn't the only one staring. Yet again, you cease to amaze me, Soohyun can't help but stare with an almost idiotic smile on his face.
"Isn't that your girl?" Jimin walked over to where Soohyun stood gawking.
"Uhuh," the only response Soohyun could give as his eyes stay fixated on her until she joined her friends on another VIP lounge across the club.
"That is one fine girl you got," Jimin couldn't help himself as he whistled. Soohyun was quite bothered by his old friend's words when talking about her, but he is too hypnotized to reply.
For a full fifteen minutes, Soohyun spent his time looking and admiring JiU from afar. He kept shaking his head at how beautifully stunning she is in that dress and makeup. Another side of her, he'd never thought the luxury of witnessing. But soon, it was disrupted when a man walked by to her side and greeting her. The same man she met last time when Soohyun dropped her off at a restaurant weeks ago.
"Tch," Soohyun could only scoff when seeing how close the man was with JiU. And it made him even more annoyed when seeing JiU laugh at whatever the man was saying. Who is that guy? Soohyun is agitated at how close the two interacted. Even when the man didn't get physical with her, something about him made JiU looked so comfortable and expressive. Somehow, he finds the overwhelming urge of jealousy burning deep inside, but at the same time, he couldn't do much about it since they had agreed that they wouldn't interfere with each other's personal lives outside the contract.
Just my luck, Soohyun shook his head after downing another glass of beer down his throat. This sucks; feeling helpless and annoyed is not improving his so thought fantastic night. So close yet so friggin far, another statement he made as his eyes still glued themselves on her, and the man he wished was him instead.
Soon after, JiU departs from the group with Soohyun, still keeping a close eye on her. She heads for the restroom, but to his surprise, not even a second passed, five men he couldn't recognize went in close behind. Something doesn't feel right.
"Hey, guys, I'll be right back," Soohyun states before leaving his friends and heading towards the restroom.
"Yo, where you going, man?" Namjoon called out, but Soohyun had gone too far into the crowd to hear.
