Chapter 2 : A whole new world.

"What....what is this place?" Diacrao murmured his first few words in his language, a knowledge that did not fade away, baffled at the world that he had landed into, stuck with the same crowd of people who are as equally baffled and confused as he is. The underground pathway which they had come from had been sealed off automatically, which spooked a few that took notice of it, but nonetheless, their air of confusion within them was not dispelled.

The many people who were present on the large stone platform, numbering around 36, were diverse groups of people's, all donned various fashions and appearances that made them unique from one another. They were all scattered around, speaking in incoherent languages as they tried to make do with the world around them. Some people have seemingly formed small groups, perhaps they speak a similar language? or they believe it would even their odds in this foreign world when they work together. There was a few who had broken down due to the confusion they felt, such as a lone girl sat down in the corner, alone, weeping. Diacrao could only lament at the sight, but he knew he could not help her in that regard, and perhaps the others share a similar view, which is why they left her alone.

In terms of clothing, Diacrao's fashion was unique; he don a traditional outfit that bore a resemblance to that of the Soninke people of West Africa. He bore a maroon tunic that reached beyond his ankle length and wore leather trousers complimented by sandals of the same material. As for his headwear, it was absent except for a headband that covered his long-dread styled hair that mirrored that of Emperor Tewodros II of the Ethiopian Empire.

Alas, there were a few people who stood by the edge of the stone platform, overlooking the vast view in the distance. Diacrao noticed an array of lighting at a distance, and what seemed to be stoned houses, illuminated with lighting that was neatly built around the nearby hills, situated by the coast. Could it be a coastal settlement? He wanted to get a closer look at the place for himself.

"Vy viedajecie, dzie my? Chto-niebudź?? Raskažycie, kali laska, što adbyvajecca!!", the male stopped at the sound of the incoherent language, except, he wasn't moved by her language, rather her unnerving tone and sound that caught the attention of a few people. A blonde-haired girl who stood at the middle of the stone platform, dressed in a casual modern outfit, such as a checkered skirt and a varsity jacket, repeated the same line again as she looked around, hoping to get answers, something the Diacrao was looking for himself too.

But alas, their pleas would be answered, or maybe, interrupted, when four fully armored men, dressed in red padded gambeson armor while equipped with Nubian helmet as they held on their spears, equipped with swords and maces holstered by their side waists. The men looked similar to Diacrao in terms of their appearance, but they stood taller then the male, towering easily as tall as 6'1 in feet, only rivaled by a few individuals who almost matched these guards in height.

There was an air of mixed reactions to the guards arrival, some were afraid at the sight of the armed men, others were curious, while others were overjoyed and quickly overwhelmed the guards by going up to them and crying while pleading for help, to which the guards could only shove them aside. As for Diacrao himself, he was on the side that was afraid, what if they were there to kill them? could they be slavers? he had many thoughts running down his mind. He begun looking for ways to escape. It was not the best plan, but at least he could be spared from whatever potential bad fate that could await them. Other worries could be dealt later.

However, his thought of planning was disrupted when an armed men yelled a loud "Oi!" at the crowd of foreigners. It got everyone's attention, and that was his intention. The guard spoke no words, but he waved his hand and motioned a message to everyone. It was confusing at first, but, it didn't take long before others grasped and understood the message. One of the individuals in the crowd, a white man with ginger hair, spoke in an incoherent language and explained using simpler hand motion that the guard want the newcomers to follow them.

Diacrao understood the assignment, but he was hesitant, yet he swallowed his second thoughts and believed it would be wiser to follow them. So he stood forward and head to the armed guards, much like the others. However, not everyone had shared the same thought.

"Vaffanculo! Non mi fido di questi teppisti armati! Me ne vado di qui!!" A man yelled in a foreign voice, followed by shouts of the same, foreign language. As Diacrao turned behind, he saw a group of 6 people making a dash into the woods as they kept yelling, perhaps insults to the unfazed guards. Unfazed? why were the guards unfazed? Are they not gonna chase after them? It was perhaps uncommon that they encounter situations like this? why are these men not moving at all? what on earth is happening here? Diacrao's stack of confusion was only ever growing, but he had a feeling they probably did a bad decision, and these guards, probably knew that, hence their reaction.

A few others were stunned, and probably had second doubts about following the guards. Some even talked among themselves regarding this. Yet, it seemed they abandoned that idea. As the four individuals disappeared, it wasn't long before one of the guards moved forward, said another similar shout to garner everyone's attention, before motioning his hands to tell everyone to follow him, before he descended down a stairwell that exited this stone platform that they were on, leading to a road that would bring them to the nearby town that they saw from the distance.

The guards came from the town, no doubt about that, but what was this town that they were heading too? A few has asked the guards, Diacrao himself asked in his language ; " Where are you taking us? what is this town we are heading into?" ; Only to be replied in a brief, foreign language, or silence from the guards. It was no point, they could not profess in the language of this group, and vice versa. The only way to find out is to trust their instincts and see this town for themselves.
