A Devil Named Devotion

When the most powerful mage in the world suddenly dies and leaves his inheritance spread across his journal pages, a mad dash to collect them erupts on the continent. One small issue: just before his death, that mage hid his journal pages in various locations, unknown to all. A young man, unconcerned with it all, suddenly has his life changed forever when he stumbles upon one of these pages and unlocks a power within himself he never knew he had.

Field Trip

Devotion passed out to sleep quickly, and ended up waking up rather late the next day. In his exhaustion, he hadn't even taken off his new armor, sleeping with the rail uncomfortably cutting into his back. Upon waking up, Devotion decided to keep the armor on, in case of a sneak attack. He was still thinking about the threat from Dreven Krauss a few days ago. There was no way of knowing what might get attempted, especially with someone that powerful at his throat.

Thinking of that, Devotion realized something: he should really warn Victor and Alex about that encounter. There was no knowing if Dreven would also target the people by Devotion's side. Based on previous displays, Devotion wouldn't put it past him.

"Come, Ysmir, let's get ready. We're going to go out today, I think." Devotion had a general idea of what to do for the day now. Ysmir hopped off the bed, somewhat more energetic than before. Anything would beat standing around at the library or the Mechanism Sect all day.
