Since he left Gourian City, it had been half a year.

During the span of time, his journey from Gourian City to Mountainside City was smooth-going, and after he arrived here, no peculiar occurrences emerged around him anymore.

In Mountainside City, public safety could be considered well above that in Gourian City. With a general overseeing the patrols around the clock, the inhabitants here didn't even have to close their doors at night within the city.

No weird incidents, no ghost's type of entities, and even murder cases were rarely seen here. Furthermore, the residents were more civilized here, their dressing style tidy and decent, creating a refreshing change in comparison to those barbarian, coarse ones in Gourian City.

Not long after they arrived here, they went to East Hill School and were enrolled. Since they started their semester, it had been three months.

Over the past half year, Le Xaan's body gradually recovered from the side effects of the modification, as he had a large number of tonics.

Le Xaan cast a glance at the fellow students who were currently in the pavilion.

They were playing a game named 'Winding Creek Bringing Flowing Cups'.

After the cups were filled with liquor, a servant would put it in the brook and let it float downstream. When the cup stopped before one among them, the person had to drain it and answer a private question in front of everyone.

In the booth, there were another six male students aside from Soan Jingor and Le Xaan. All of them shared a background in a merchant family. And two girls were seated beside them, watching them play silently. One of the two wore a white dress, the other a blue dress. Upon hearing cute words, the two of them would place their hands over their mouths to conceal their laughter.

One of the two girls, named Chin Wensy, was from a local family in Mountainside City; she sported cherry lips and had a delicate, refined aura about her.

Another girl was pretty-looking as well but from a small city in the Northern Realm.

Although Chin Wensy's features couldn't be considered stunning, they were well-defined enough to make her look approachable. Her figure was strikingly appealing, with enviably long legs and a slender waist, and her skin was gracefully fair and smooth.

However, the people in this world did not admire her appearance at all. Yet, from Le Xaan's point of view, Chin Wensy was undoubtedly a standard beauty, especially given her well-proportioned, lengthy legs, rounded yet tautly stretched, describing a perfect outline.

Too bad that people in this world seemed to prefer miniature-sized girls over those with lengthy legs.

As such, even though Chin Wensy was a beauty in Le Xaan's eyes, others tended to view her appearance as slightly below average.

At this point in his thoughts, Le Xaan noticed that her gaze rested on him. He couldn't help but laugh bitterly inwardly.

Thanks to Soan Jingor's introduction, Le Xaan struck up several conversations with Chin Wensy. Unexpectedly, he appeared to share many values and opinions with the girl on a lot of topics. As they spent some more time with each other, their friendship was cemented. However, as time dragged on, Chin Wensy's gaze on him grew ever more scorching and bore a noticeable difference in contrast to how she looked at others.

Chin Wensy's look fell on Le Xaan from time to time, and the emotions deep within her eyes were discernible to everyone.

"Brother Le, Wensy's eyes is nearly riveted on you." One of the students quipped.

"Winning over a girl is something worth toasting, isn't it, Brother Le?" another one echoed.

"Miss Wensy is a beauty with a good heart, and her family boasts a fortune that ranks them among the richest in Mountainside City, even across the neighbouring cluster of cities. Brother Le, don't miss out on the fleeting great opportunity!" Soan Jingor leaned in and whispered in Le Xaan's ears.

Egged on by the crowd, Le Xaan shook his head and picked up the cup from the stream, threw back his head, and drained it.

Then, he showed everyone the empty cup.

His graceful movements accentuated his handsome, refined presence. In stark contrast to the other students, his body was muscular and towering. And thanks to his cultivation of inner body Qi, he sported a pair of piercing eyes that would carve a deep impression on almost anyone.

Despite a humbler background compared to those of a few students on the occasion, Le Xaan seemed the most eye-catching one in the midst of them.

Encouraged by all these students, Le Xaan and Chin Wensy took seat side by side.

In this world, women were encouraged to pursue the love of their choice. Unless a woman went so far as to behave as outrageously as Deumu Wann, she would draw no abnormal gazes.

Chin Wensy chatted with her friend and then boldly sat down beside Le Xaan for a while. Before long, the two of them were 'chased out' of the pavilion by their fervent friends.

The duo ambled on the lawn nearby and spent some time with each other.

It was still early morning when birds' tweets drifted over, and floral aroma permeated the air. As they strolled there, they took in the sight of the mountains covered in the hue of Spring Heralding Trees' blossoms, calling to mind the clouds above a setting sun.

"They... always love to goof around like this." Chin Wensy's said with her sparkling eyes fixated on Le Xaan. This was not the first time they had been 'chased out'.

The two of them sauntered on the luxuriant grassy ground before crossing over a small hill, which blocked out the numerous lines of vision from the pavilion.

Le Xaan eyed Chin Wensy up and down. She wore a knee-length pure white dress. Below it was a pair of long boots concealing her calves. Her figure was slender yet curvaceous with ample bosom and long legs. Her hair draped over her shoulders and reached down to her waistline like a shawl. The sight of her called a scene to Le Xaan's mind that a snowy-white lily swayed about at the mercy of a breeze under the moonlight in the late autumn.

"They have done this out of kindness." Le Xaan said with a smile. Le Xaan didn't dislike this relationship and was attracted by Chin Wensy as well. Since such a belle took the initiative to chase after him, who was still a single man, he was in no mood to turn her down and decided to see where the wind would blow the two of them.

From Le Xaan's viewpoint, the girl's most attractive feature was her lengthy legs, which most of the locals considered a flaw. At this point in his thoughts, Le Xaan felt odd.

"Why do you wear long boots? Aren't you feeling hot?" Le Xaan asked casually and then added, "Actually, your legs look really beautiful."

"If you prefer that I don't wear boots... from now on, I will expose my legs... only for you to watch..."

Le Xaan didn't expect that his careless question would elicit such a response.
