A Bit of a History

"Sorry but I really can't understand what you're saying." I told Storm while he's still whisphering.

I can hear his whisphers but it seems like he's saying it in a language I'm not familiar with.

I looked into his eyes when he didn't respond to what I just said and I can see his iris starts to become red and his eyeballs becomes black. My heart started hammering through my chest as I stepped back from him but he grabbed my arm to stop me.

"Yuki!!" I heard dad shout from behind us. I turned around and saw a flash. So fast I didn't notice my arm was free but Storm's hand is still in my arm.

"Aah!!" Storm shouted when his hand was cut off. I flailed my arm to shake his hand off. I wanted to scream but I'm so scared of it, no voice came out of my mouth.

The hand successfully came off. I saw dad still behind us but he disappeared, wait, no, he ran so fast I can see a flash behind him. He stopped in front of me and carried me.

"Hold on tight." He said. Where Storm's stepping at started to form a dark circle. Wind started to get wild as the circle below him began to get bigger.

"Give her back" he said, his voice was as cold as ice. I can feel his murderous intent so much, hair all over my arms and legs, even in my face, started to go up.

I grabbed dad's neck and clasped my hand behind it. He started to run, same speed as I saw him lately. Buildings and people flashed around us while we're moving. I couldn't see Storm behind us, guess he can't catch up to us.

A minute later we stopped in a forest.

"Guess it's time for you to go to our real world." Dad muttered.

"Real what?" I asked.

"Wait what's that I just saw?" I point my fingers to where we came from. I was actually partaining to Storm.

"And what did you just do?" I asked now pointing to him.

"I told you to stop pointing." He said and rolled his eyes. Then suddenly he became serious.

"What?" I asked after a while. He just stood in front of me. His face was really serious but his eyes looks really sad.

"Come on dad you're making me worried." I said. He took a deep breath and slowly spoke.

"We really wanted you to have a normal life." He said while his head shifts left and right.

"Come on." He said. This forest just outside the city is owned by my family since way back. Trees are still thin and young when they bought this huge lot.

We went deeper into the forest. Trees began to become thick and sunshines are slowly disappearing. After a while we came out of the forest.

There was a big pond in the middle and a wide waterfall. Every time I come here, my soul feels clean and refreshed. Every problem I have, no matter how big it is, seems to fade away. Happiness filled my mind and heart. Now I feel like I've calmed down completely despite what happened earlier.

We come in this place once in a while to have a picnic with mom and dad. You see we don't have my biological dad anymore with us. He left us when I was about to become eight. He was saying something like he didn't mean to cheat on my mom or something but in the end he chose his other woman and left us.

Uncle Glaze is my dad's younger brother. About the same age as my mom. He helped mom when we were left behind with no money. Mom quit her job at that time to take care of me. Now he owns a restaurant and hired mom. Plus he asked me 3 years ago for mom's hand too. They looked happy together so who am I to stop my mom for loving him? He don't want to have a child. He said I'm already his daughter and would want to focus on me instead. Since then I started calling him dad.

"Before we continue let me tell you what we really are." He said. Dad looked back to me and smiled. We sat just under a thick tree standing alone beside the pond. He took his phone out and texted something to someone quickly before looking at me again.

"Our family has what you call magic." He said. He held his hand up and sparks came from his hand.

"Whoa is that a real electric?" I asked and touched it. I can't feel anything at all when I touched it. His eyes widened a bit then quickly turned back to normal.

"My family's not a pure magicians that's why only some of us have abilities while most of them have none. Your mother's family, however, is a pure one until your mom had to have a husband that is unpure. You touched my magic and didn't affect you. You might be a late bloomer and might show your magic later."

"So you're magic is lightning. Is everyone in your family also a lightning?" I asked.

"No. There are only few families that has magic like mine and your mom's." He paused.

"Yup I don't get it." I said. A while later he continued talking.

"In our world, most people only get to have their own dragon. Few people only posses magic. If your ancestors have one you'll most likely claim it too. If your parents have both pure magician ancestors then it's impossible for you not to have one. In my case my grandmother had a normal person as her husband so as our family gets larger then there will be fewer chance to have a magician within us."

"If your grandma's a magician, does one of your parents have one too?" I asked.

"Nope, it skipped to me." He replied.

He stood up and offered his hand to me.

"Where are we going? We have to go home. Storm might do something to mom." I said.

"Storm?"

"The one whose gone crazy lately. By the way what the heck is he?" I said.

"I've informed your mom to what just happened. She knows what to do. 'Storm' is a demon. I'll tell you about that later. For now we'll go through here."

We stopped beside the waterfalls.
