"Stop staring at me."The man said smiling at Flora. He looked at his phone and he looked back at her, it was as if he was looking at something that was related to her.
"Look creep I don't know who you are or what it is that you want from me... You know what I don't have time for this, I have to go."She said standing up from her seat, she took her purse from the wooden table.
"I would like to do business with you."He said, his words made Flora stop in her tracks. She turned around facing him. Her lips were slightly far apart. She could not believe her ears, she cleared her throat.
"Business? What kind of business?"She asked.
"Sit down and I'll explain it to you."He said, gesturing for her to sit on the chair that was right across from him.
"I know that the first thing you want to hear is what you are going to gain from doing business with me."He said. Flora shifted on her sear feeling a little uncomfortable. She did need money, but she didn't want to look desperate in front of him.
"Please go on."
"First of all I'll tell you the benefits before I tell you what this 'business ' is... One, you'll be earning fifty thousand dollars a month, two you and your daughter will live in a place of my choosing."He paused seeing the look on her face, he smiled he knew what she was thinking. She was probably asking herself how he knew that she had a daughter, because only her family knew about her daughter so for a stranger to know that, it was weird for her. He sounded more like a weirdo than a normal person who just wants to do business with her.
"How do you know that I have a daughter?"She asked. She could feel fear starting to overcome her mind and body. 'He's not that guy now is he?'She asked herself, the thought of him being 'that guy' made her body tremble in fear. Her palms started sweating and she looked everywhere but him.
"It was quite simple for me, but you don't have to worry about that let's just..."He could not finish his sentence, the look on Flora's face made him. worry. It looked as though she had seen a ghost, she held on to her skirt tightly, trying to calm herself down. She took deep breaths but nothing seemed to be working."Are you alright?"He asked.
"Sorry but I have to go, I just remembered something."She said standing up from her seat, she felt her legs giving up on her, but she kept telling herself to stay strong.
"Here is my number, you can contact me anytime." He said handing her a small piece of paper that had his personal number on. She took it and she ran out of the resturant, not caring about the weird look the people in the resturants were giving her. The world seemed to be spinning and sge could not hear a thing, she crossed the road with looking if a car was coming or not.
"Hey you bitch! I almost hit the traffic light with my new car because of you, are you that blind!?"A man in a black SUV shouted, Flora looked at him and she mouthed 'Sorry' to him and continued going where she was going.
After a while she found herself in a park that was just five minutes away from her house, she stopped and she then sat on on a bench that was near the playground. The park only had a few people at the moment which was understandable because it was a Monday morning. Parents were at work abd children were at school. She took her phone out of her bag and she called Emily. "Argh, what do you want now?"She asked, she was annoyed because she hated being bothered when she is Watching TV.
"Is Aurora back from grandma's place yet?"She asked.
"Yes that brat of yours is back, and guess what she has been making noise and telling me 'I want mommy, I want mommy.' Can she be more annoying, do yourself a favor and get your ass back here before I beat the life out of her."She said seething.
"Alright I'll be home soon."She said letting out a sigh of relief. She thought that maybe that man had taken her daughter, and maybe he planned on using her to threaten her. She quickly shook that thought away. She then stood upnfrom where she was seated and she made her way back home.
"My goodness thank God you are back, I just couldn't take it anymore."Emily said opening the fridge.
"Where is she now?"Flora asked.
"She's sleeping now."Emily said. Flora just nodded her head and she made her way upstairs to her daughter's room, she opened the door slowly not wanting to wake Aurora up. She walked into the room, slowly making her way to Aurora's bed where she was sleeping soundly.
Flora sat down on the side of the bed and she took a good look at her daughter. She had red hair, thin eyelashes and chubby cheeks. 'There is no way, she looks nothing like him.'Flora thought to herself. Aurora didn't look like Flora, the only thing that she had from Flora's were her dimples, that made her little face look even more perfect. 'I guess I just overreacted, silly me. He probably doesn't even know about my unfortunate accident.'She thought. She stood up from the bed and she made her way out of Aurora's room.
She walked back into her room and closed the door throwing herself on her bed. Sho took put her phone and the small oiece of paper that had that man's personal phone number from her purse. She unlocked her phone and she dialed his number and she called it. It rang fir about a few seconds and to her luck he answered the call.
"Yes who is this?"He asked.
"It's me Flora, the woman that you met at the restaurant today."She said.
"OH Flora, I didn't think that you would call me so soon since you didn't look fine earlier, but are you fine now?"He asked.
"Yes I am."She answered.
"What exactly happened, you looked like you had seen a ghost, you don't have some super natural powers that allow you to see ghost now do you?"He asked. Flora couldn't help but laugh.
"No I don't. The thing is I just remembered something I didn't want to remember that's why...anyway about the business you wanted to do with me, I think that the benefits are alright, so now the only thing that is left is for you to tell me what kind of business you want to do with me."She said. "Hold on, I didn't tell me your name, what is your name?"She asked.
"My name is Ludwick.... This business can't be discussed over the phone."He said.
"What? but why?"She asked, it almost sounded like she was whining.
"It's just the type of business that can't be discussed over the phone. I'm at the park that's near your home, you'll find me there."He said. He then hung up the phone not wanting to listen to what Flora had to say.
"What an ass."Flora said. Sge lazily stood up from her bed and sge then made her way out of her room, and she just had to bump into Emily out of all people.
"And where do you think you're going. It's the second time today. Did you find yourself a sugar daddy, huh?"Emily asked and that really pissed Flora off, she had had it with this spoilt brat that did nothing with her life.
"Look bitch, unlike you I don't sit around at home and do nothing about my life. Unlike you I don't rely on a man that's going to toss me away sooner rather than later."She said. Emily's eyes widened. "OH you didn't know. Your lovely boyfriend is getting engaged next week at the city hall."She said.
"No, my Karl would never do that to me, you are just jealous that you don't have such a loving and caring man in your life like him You are just jealous thar he spoils me a lot."She said.
"Fine, if you don't believe me then you should go to the city hall next week Friday at 10am, I have somewhere I need to get to, have a nice heart braking day."She said walking away from Emily. She could hear her cursing her in every way possible, but Flora didn't seem to care, she was used to it anyway it was not something new for her. She just had to learn to live with it, that's just how her life had been ever since that night. So she just had to accept it and live with it.
