2. The Shadow Pack.

Logan's POV

×××

"Are you trying to tell me that noone has a lead on where to find Magnolia? After all this time?".

I asked, my voice vibrating through the four corners of my office.

"We have been searching for the past decades and yet no clue". One of the enforcers muttered.

"Then go search again. Keep on searching". I yelled.

"Alpha, forgive my rudeness but I presume Magnolia should be dead by now. It's been a decade si…". One of them said but shut up immediately I left my desk and strutted towards them.

I shifted into my wolf and they all fell to their knees with their heads buried down.

"We apologize Alpha Logan". The trio pleaded.

"We...we will se…search again and will bring back go…good news". The one who had spoken before stammered.

I growled shifting back to my human form. This whole thing was driving me crazy. Wherever this Magnolia was…she was driving me crazy. I needed her. No, I needed to find her and get my claws on her.

"Get out and don't come back here without any useful information". I hollered and they all scampered out of the office. I turned back and walked towards my desk.

The door busted open immediately after they left and another enforcer hurried into my office and towards me. He then bowed slightly I presumed.

"Alpha Logan".

"What is it?". I asked in between gritted teeth without turning. "I don't like to be disturbed. I do not wish to listen to whatever it is you have to say. Walk away".

I told him walking towards my desk.

"I deeply apologize Alpha Logan, for this impromptu entrance. But this is a serious…"

"Get to the point". I stomped my fist on the desk so hard that my knuckles turned pale.

"The Ghost pack…". He started and slightly cleared his throat looking up at me for the first time since he entered. "There has been a rogue attack".

"The rogue attacked the Ghost pack or is it the other way around?". I asked seemingly uninterested as I sat down in my office chair.

"It's…it's the other way around, Alpha".

"Interesting". I mused and laid back in my chair rubbing my stubble. "Get Beta Duncan here at once".

"Yes, Alpha". The enforcer said and walked out after a half bow.

"You called for me, Alpha ". Beta Duncan said as he walked in and approached my desk. I sat upright.

"I need more information about the Ghost pack's attack on the rogue community".

"Yes, Alpha". Beta Duncan replied and was about to turn away.

"And…". I started, making him turn back to face me. "Find out if Magnolia was among those in the rogue community or not and where she is presently. We need a lead on her whereabouts".

Beta Duncan nodded.

"Consider it done Alpha".

He bowed and then walked out of the office shutting the door behind him. I could hear him giving out instructions to the enforcers and scouts.

I placed my elbow on the desk and put my hands under my chin. I felt like I was going crazy with each passing day because I was going through something that kept taking a toll on me.

And finding Magnolia was at the forefront.

I ran a hand through my hair and closed my eyes.

If I could just…

The door busted open again and my eyes shut open.

"Don't you know you have to knock before you come in?" I snapped.

"I apologize, Alpha Logan, I knocked several times but got no reply". A scout said bowing slightly as he stopped in front of my desk. He had a bow and arrow slung over his shoulders.

"What is it this time?". I asked resting my back on the chair. What kind of news could he possibly have now?

"Alpha". He called and I noted the seriousness on his face. I got alarmed instantly.

I sat upright and placed my hands on the desk. "Speak". I urged with a raise and fall of my chin.

"The trackers informed us the hunters and the enforcers about a peculiar scent in the woods". He paused.

"Go on". I urged again, my facial expression darkening.

"The enforcers surveyed the area and found something interesting. An intruder, Alpha Logan".

A low growl escaped my mouth as anger sparked in my bloodshot eyes. I stood up immediately.

"Who dares to invade the Shadow pack?".

I asked staring at the scout who was standing a few feet away from my desk and who had just reported back to me.

I guess whoever invaded didn't know about the Alpha of the Shadow pack.

"We do not know, Alpha Logan". He replied looking at the ground. He dared not look me in the eye. "The trackers traced the scent, she doesn't seem to be one of us"

"She…" I repeated that one part and left my desk. "And the scent you speak of, what kind of scent is that?"

"The scent is complicated to pin point but the most dominant was that of fear".

"Fear, I see". I replied and rubbed my stubble again. "Interesting".

The corners of my lips rose in a smirk.

I knew of only one person who would be in fear and still invade the Shadow pack.

"The intruder has been brought to face the Alpha of the Shadow pack".

I heard an enforcer announce outside before the door was opened and the intruder was dragged in. She had her hand to her stomach, I noted.

I stepped forward and they threw her forcefully making her fall onto the wooden floorboard in front of me with a painful thud.

Something came out of her mouth and rolled towards me. I went low to take a good look at it and a frown settled on my face. I got up and walked to her.

"Who are you little one?".

I asked bending to her level and using a finger claw to lift her chin.

"As…Astrid". She called not looking at me.

"Astrid". I repeated. "What have you done?".

The corners of my lips rose into a small smile. The look on that face…the look of terror and…fear.

I was right, the only person who would be in fear and still invade this territory unknowingly, was a rogue.

The prey had just stepped into the predator's den.

"What then shall I do with you, Astrid?".

What do you guys think about Alpha Logan?

I want you to tell me your first impression of him. Please.

Love ya!
