"Tenur is following our plans for the area further north of where we are," Mero said since those people were his allies even before he came to Cusca and caused all the recent changes in the kingdom and his family.
The number two in the Touma family army already knew about Mero's plans for Tenur in the territory to the north, which Ife had helped him buy.
He then said. "That's good. But what will he do there for the time being? Will he be able to contribute to the young master? I mean, he just got part of his liberties back. Will he be able to act without your support?"
This man and the others in the surroundings knew that Mero could not actively support Tenur, or he might show his enemies where that foreigner was and what their following action would be.
So Mero was merely giving Tenur the support to not stand in his way and give him enough freedom to develop that area.
