Before the arrival

It's been a few days since I got engaged. I feel terrible. Why did it have to be her? Why her? What would happen if I didn't bump into her that day? What if I just walked past her? What would happen?

Two days after my engagement my parents were very excited, so I asked them what was going on... I wish I never asked...

-Amano-san is coming here! Get ready!

-Wait, what? Amano-san's coming here?

-That's right...You two are going to get to know each other a lot better. You're engaged, after all.

I slammed the chopsticks on the table.

-I won't accept our engagement!

My dad started to talk:

-What, are you getting rebellious on me now? Bring it on Nagi!

Damn, this man really is a pain in the butt. Then my mom continued:

-Or, what, is there a reason you don't want to get engaged?

Let me think about that. Actually, I do like someone, my rival at school, Sagawa Hiro. But how am I supposed to tell that to my parents?

-Good. Well, dad and I have to get to work now. Be sure to keep Erika-chan company when she gets here.

-No, I'm going to be busy studying for exams. You were the one to make the decision. I'm not getting involved.

-Except I wasn't. Erika-chan's the one who said she wanted to visit.

I coughed so hard, I felt like my lungs were going to jump out of my mouth. It was a sudden shock. Why would she want to visit us? Oh... I get it. Of course, she would want to visit to see her parents. But, wait, my parents are going to work...

-Well good luck dealing with her.-Said my mom.

-Have fun.-Continued my dad.

So... I... I... will be alone with Erika? No, no, no... No!!!!! Why?

Well, can't say that she is boring or something, but it feels weird to be alone with a girl. What am I supposed to do? What does she like? What subjects should I bring up during the conversation? This is even more complicated than math equations.

I don't really like her that much so when she comes I will respectfully turn her down. I will tell her that I am already fully committed to someone.

I started to get dressed. The only normal outfit I had was my school uniform, so I put it on.

-What're you up to?-Sachi came into my room.

I wasn't expecting her.

-I heard you guys-she continued. -Erika-chan, was it? She's actually coming?

-Yeah, she is.

-Hmmm... I don't know about that.

-About what?

-I mean, she's a princess from a prestigious girls' school and she is famous on social media. And she is a daughter of a hotel tycoon. Does she really think she's going to feel at home with such a poor family?

-Pff... don't say that. She's your actual older sister after all.

-Don't... I don't want to hear about it!
