Chapter 351: The aftermath of his actions
The battle between Ling Wei and Chu Jingyi went on and on online. Both sides' fans were going all out.
In Silverlight entertainment, Chu Jingyi looks at his phone and continues to type comments. From how it's going, both sides were even.
"Brother Jingyi, the board member wants to speak with you." Chu Jingyi's manager came up to him. His face was sweating and pale.
"Alright," Chu Jingyi doesn't say anymore as he walks over to the board meeting room. When he walks in, the board members stare at him. He can tell from their expression that they're pissed off.
"So what do I owe the pleasure of you honorable board members?" Chu Jingyi's voice was condescending.
One of the board members slams his hand onto the table! He shouts out, "How dare you talk to us like that! Do you know how much trouble you have caused us?!"
"Trouble? What do you mean?" Chu Jingyi shrugs his shoulders, acting innocent. That pissed the board members off even more.
"You know what we mean! Your comments against Ling Wei!"
"So? Our company and her company have never seen eye to eye. So what's the problem with what I said?" It was like a cat and dog. The two's companies have never liked each other. It's due to their competition to be the better company that they hate each other.
"That's not the problem. You also named Wao Hao Yu and Che He. Do you know what the consequences are?!" The companies the two are in are great business partners with Silverlight. But now anymore.
Chu Jingyi had commented on them as well while he was ranting about Ling Wei. Because of that, the two's companies have been demanding an explanation from Silverlight.
"So? Is it wrong for me to say something true? Do they think they could do whatever they want and get away with it?" Chu Jingyi wasn't going to back down from what he said before.
What the two did greatly disappointed him.
"You!" The board members' faces turn even sourer. Even if they didn't like Chu Jingyi, they never got in his way when he did something questionable.
His work would make up for it. However, this time he crossed the line. They're about to lose two powerful connections because of him.
But that's the least of their worries!
"Do you know you also angered Brightsky as well?" Brightsky is the company that started the entire show. What Chu Jingyi said offended them as well.
They were demanding an explanation from Chu Jingyi as well!
"And? It's their fault for asking Ling Wei to be the judge. Of course, there's going to be a public opinion about this." Chu Jingyi laughs.
Seeing how Chu Jingyi wasn't going to back down from this, the board members look at the CEO, "CEO, can't you deal with this?" Rather than talking to Chu Jingyi, the CEO is the best person to deal with this.
The person sitting at the head of the table is an elderly man. Maybe in his late 70s. He had only been looking at them arguing with each other without a word.
Tan Quan is the person to create Silverlight and lead it to greatness in his 50 years of being CEO.
"Chu Jingyi, why did you have to go so far for him?" Rather than focusing on Chu Jingyi's rant, Tan Quan could see the bigger reason why he did that. He could see Chu Jingyi wasn't fighting for his reputation but rather for Zhang Jian.
Chu Jingyi smiles. Thankfully, there was somebody who understood his intentions. He explains, "That boy has talent that can't be compared to any others. I'm willing to bet in a few years he's going to be better than me."
Hearing his words, the board members didn't believe him. How could a greenhorn like Zhang Jian surpass Chu Jingyi, a megastar?
It took Chu Jingyi a total of 8 years to get his popularity. So how could he do that in less time?
So for Chu Jingyi to say something like that is nothing more than a pipe dream.
"But why do you have to help him?" Zhang Jian wasn't an artist under his company, so why would he go so far for the boy?
Chu Jingyi chuckles, "Just take it as a meddling senior wanting to see a junior succeed."
"I see." Tan Quan mulls this over. But then he looks at the rest, "Let's end the board meeting now."
