"Wait, what?!" Confusion was all over Zhang Jian's face as he couldn't believe it. He wanted to make sure, "Do you mean as an entertainment star?" Behind his question, there was anticipation and a bit of excitement that couldn't be hidden.

Lu Chen nods, "Yes, I want you to become one. But more than that, I want you to become a musician even more." The company Lu Chen plans to take over is an entertainment company.

And for an entertainment company to be successful, he would need a star. A figurehead that shines and catches the attention of others. The person who's most suitable to become this will be Zhang Jian.

'You are born to become a star.'

For a long time now, Lu Chen knows Zhang Jian has a talent for music. But more than that, Zhang Jian has the passion and drive to make himself better than anybody else.

And the looks Zhang Jian was born with were the best yet. If he could put a bit more effort into being proper, he could become even more handsome.

"I know that-" Lu Chen was about to explain how his company was going to have difficulties at the beginning with a lot of problems,

"Stop." Before Lu Chen could finish his sentence, Zhang places his hands onto Lu Chen's mouth,

"I'm in." There was no need for Lu Chen to make him back out.

Zhang Jian has always longed to become an entertainment star, and his best friend was giving him a chance to become one.

"..." 'You didn't need to cover my mouth.'

Moving his hand away, Lu Chen wanted to make sure too, "Are you sure you want to become a star at my company? Aren't you worried that I might do something to you? Like feeding you to the wolves or something like that?"

There was guilt in his tone. Seeing how Zhang Jian jumps in headfirst without any doubt made Lu Chen feel bad.

"Why should I be worried that you would do something funny to me? You're my friend, and I know you won't take it too far." Despite all his thoughts about Lu Chen doing something weird with the bet, deep down, he knows Lu Chen wouldn't do something extreme.

"And besides, having you as my boss is much better than having somebody else." With Lu Chen as his boss, Zhang Jian knew he wasn't going to be abused or manipulated.

"..." Lu Chen didn't know what to say to that. He didn't think Zhang Jian would have so much faith in him.

"I even got some ideas I want my songs to be." He had been writing his own lyrics ever since middle school.

Zhang Jian's excitement couldn't be hidden. He was hyped over the fact that he's going to become a star. Zhang Jian didn't even notice the strained expression Lu Chen is making.

'If you know that I was just doing this because of your fame, then you wouldn't be saying all of this." As he thought before, Zhang Jian was born to be a star. Even without Lu Chen's help, Zhang Jian would still become famous.

After a few years of graduating college, Zhang Jian would become one of the most famous musicians in all of China.

However, there was a problem. There was always one person in front of him who he could never beat.

Long Shen.

Long Shen was called the prince of music and the movie emperor. He has everything. Visuals, a talent for music, and a princely personality, Long Shen had it all. Nobody was able to beat him even when he grew older.

With musical talent alone, Zhang Jian would have been able to beat him easily, hands down.

However, multiple scandals hit him.

Zhang Jian was framed for having plagiarized another man's work. The scandal wasn't the only one too. After a few months, Zhang Jian was hit with multiple scandals with other idols.

'I get the last ones.' Lu Chen didn't want to believe it, but knowing Zhang Jian, the latter scandals probably happened with his flirty personality.

Plagiarizing another man's work, on the other hand, is a different story. Lu Chen knows Zhang Jian definitely didn't do it. There was no need for him with his talents.

'Long Shen must have pulled some strings.' The time was too perfect for Long Shen not to do anything.
