Chapter Twelve: Development Method of Sealless Jutsu (Part 1)

"Within three days, do not utter the word fuinjutsu in front of me."

It was evident from Kushina's words that she was stilll having problems with the fuinjutsu that we have been working on.

However, since the matter wasn't about the Reverse Four Symbols Fuinjutsu, what could be the reason for Kushina's happiness?

"Oh, I understand. It's love."

Before he could finish speaking, Kenji received a sharp tap on his head.

"You're an underage child, and you know too much," Kushina retorted, seemingly annoyed.

Was this irritation due to embarrassment?

Indeed.

Because Kenji's guess was accurate. Today, Minato Namikaze, would be returning to Konoha.

Honestly, although Kushina occasionally teased him, Kenji enjoyed being around her. She had a straightforward personality, and furthermore, she wasn't overly polite with him, which indicated that she considered him one of her own.

"So, that means Minato-senpai is coming back?" Kenji asked from a distance, holding his head and addressing Kushina.

"How did you know about Minato?" Kushina seemed surprised that Kenji mention Minato's name. How did he know about their relationship?

"Minato Namikaze, Konoha's Yellow Flash, it'd be strange if I didn't know his name," Kenji pretended to be innocent.

With the Third Great Ninja War, Minato Namikaze's fame as the Yellow Flash had spread across the ninja world. Especially after Konoha lost Tobirama, Minato's role as the most powerful mobile force on Konoha's battlefield was evident. He became Konoha's sole hero, overshadowing even the legendary Sannin.

When Kenji was still at the Ninja Academy, although most people didn't recognize Minato, many regarded him as an idol to admire.

Of course, Kushina's words didn't mean that. She was asking whether Kenji knew about the connection between Minato and herself, and how he came to know about it. However, Kenji's evasive response mixed up the situation. Fortunately, Kushina didn't seem to care too much about it.

"Anyway, today we're taking a break. No ninjutsu training, no C or D-ranked missions, and definitely no endless forbidden jutsu development. Just come with me," Kushina instructed.

"Understood, sensei."

Kenji, of course, wouldn't voice any objections; he understood the importance of a balance between work and relaxation.

Afterward, Kushina led Kenji to the entrance of Konoha and gazed expectantly down the main road. Before long, four figures appeared in Kenji's field of vision.

Unfortunately, there were no heartwarming scenes unfolding here. Minato didn't teleport in front of Kushina, and she didn't rush into his embrace.

No, there was a heartwarming scene, but Kenji hoped that it would never happen.

"Ha ha, Kenji, how did you know I'd be back today? I didn't expect you to come specifically to greet me. True friends indeed." There was no need to ask who was talking; it was undoubtedly Obito Uchiha.

At this point, it's worth mentioning that the mind is a wonderful thing, but unfortunately, some people have it, and some are just devoid of it.

While the lovers were reuniting, why did this guy have to be the first to interrupt?

"I have to clarify that I didn't come to greet you intentionally," Kenji quickly explained. A clarification was necessary; otherwise, he might be misunderstood.

"There's nothing embarrassing about that. Our friendship is beyond doubt," Obito remarked.

I'm sorry, what? Doubtful? Doubtful that I came here to witness this?

"Kenji, I heard you've been staying in Konoha the whole time without leaving. You know, as an elite ninja like me, I've already completed an A-ranked mission. Are you envious? You should be," within three minutes of their reunion after three months, Obito started boasting about himself.

Kenji smiled and remained silent. Ha ha, this is the guy who interrupted the heartwarming scene earlier. Well, I'm currently assisting with S-ranked forbidden jutsu development tasks, even if I'm just a helper.

Kenji didn't refute Obito, but naturally, some people found his words unpleasant. The other white-haired individual, Kakashi Hatake, snorted before saying, "Hmph, I don't recall you playing any positive role in that mission. A certain deadweight seemed to be dragging us down the whole time."

"Kakashi, you, what are you blabbering about?" Obito retorted, visibly irritated by Kakashi's provocations. Then they both turned away and began their own war of words.

Kenji paid no attention to the idiots and greeted Rin who was behind him.

"Is that Kenji's teacher up ahead? Why does she seem so close to Minato-sensei?"

"Is there something strange about it? Don't you know that Kushina-sensei is Minato-senpai's girlfriend?" Kenji casually revealed this juicy piece of gossip.

"Is Kushina the legendary Red Hot-Blooded Habanero? She's in a relationship with Minato-sensei?" Rin was astonished.

"What's the problem? Haven't you heard that opposites attract? You guys should get used to these kinds of things."

Unconsciously, Obito and Kakashi stopped their quarrel and strained their ears to listen to Kenji's words.

In this world obsessed with gossip, especially during times of war, such juicy details were a rare commodity. After all, one side of this gossip involved the famed Red Hot-Blooded Habanero, and the other side was the even more renowned Yellow Flash.

"Eh, is this kind of information useful?" Despite his love for gossip, Obito still acted nonchalant.

"Of course, it's useful. With various pieces of information, who knows, you might catch your teacher in a compromising position. Then if you want to learn certain ninja techniques, you can blackmail him with that," Kenji quipped.
